I don’t know why but watching Olga kindly observe the dancers makes me cry. I can’t handle how sweet and caring she looks and yet at the same time it amazes me how she manages to give all the individual advices between instructions. Everything is so smooth and beautiful.

i don't know exactly how or why, but i get a very particular, yet incredibly good feeling watching those ballet classes. i can feel a pleasurable tranquility... i love the movements, the progression of rhythm and difficulty, the students exchanging glances, the clothes, the pianist... for a brief hour i can really disconnect from all my reality and feel myself there, inside that room, for a moment i can imagine myself living in a cloudy london, waking up early, taking the underground and going to that class. terrific!

Try getting some acupuncture from a good "Dr" that will help your recovery immensely. I now swear by acupuncture (from the right person) after three injuries in three years. One was a really bad ankle sprain - nothing as serious as yours. I'm older so my recovery was paramount... Acupuncture, chiro, foods/herbs to reduce inflammation and major doses of Vit D from the intense TX summer sun also helped a lot. Keep getting better and stronger!

Dance is such a gentle way to love discipline, the arts, your community, the craft itself, the music, your fellow artists, and have respect for your teacher, and YES, your body, heart, and soul. So moving! Thank you 🙏

I so wish I had stuck with ballet as a child. Like most young girls I did it briefly as a young kid, but only stuck with it for about a year or two before stopping. I'm not sure why I stopped, we were poor so maybe it was money. Or maybe my little child brain just wanted to do something else. Either way, now I'm 28 years old and have far too many health issues stemming from years of repeated injuries that even if starting this late was possible, I'd never dance professionally. Really really wish I'd stuck with it. If I'd had the chance to build up the strength and flexibility before things started going so poorly for me, my life could have been a lot different :( Beautiful dance. I'll continue to appreciate it from the sidelines regardless.

No one does until they learn, practice and rehearse. I bet most of the people in this ballet class didn't either, they just wanted to be a ballet dancer and every person who starts a ballet class, has no idea what they're doing until the instructor tells them what to do, and slowly they become professional after continuous practice. People who want to be a doctor, they start off not knowing one thing about the human anatomy or even what kind of doctor they want to be, they first think of wanting to save lives and fix people. All you can do it try it. It's not easy but if you're passionate about ballet, you can turn out to be a famous ballet dancer!

This is not just one of my favourite videos for relaxing, but I love stretching to it! I work as a stable groom and my body aches from it. I love my work but it's hard on my body, especially now in my 40's. I always stretch after work but it's only been a few months since I discovered Olga's classes and it's just the BEST video to listen to and watch while I stretch.
Very few people can comprehend how much I need to stretch not to get injuries or simply too stiff to function and plenty of people have been shocked when I tell them that during the most strenuous days, I need to stretch and flex for up to an hour - in really gruesome cases an hour and a half!
Listening to Olga and watching the class makes me feel like I have company - from people who more than most understand the time it requires to keep your body fit for a whole day of hard physical labor. Even if my job and theirs are worlds apart, I feel strangely understood.
The foot excercises to strenghten the them at the barre are excersises I do too and just in general it helps me with posture and balance while handling the horses.
I wish there were more of these videos with Olga. I've watched the ones I can find and they're amazing.

I like how the older French ballerina puts the English boys and girls through their paces, and they know it too.l like it. I think she's very kind and very knowledgeable. I like her a lot. You're lucky to have her. Really you are.

I started when I was three. Madame Slavinska allowed me to start at such an early age because I was so desperate to start. Her accent was similar, it brings back phenomenal memories. The ballet studio was my safe space for YEARS. I loved it.

but seriously i love these classes and seeing old and new faces, (especially nela and olga!!!) i've watched these so much that i even recognize a lot of the corps de ballet when i watch performances, which is great because i think they're just as amazing as soloists and principals 💗
