Good prediction on the SRT 392 going away, it's an ex-model now. For 2019, the Scat Pack Widebody will be the replacement at the top of the NA line, and will have the adjustable suspension option, and nearly every other SRT 392 option, except the lighted flat-bottom SRT steering wheel, those only come on Hellcats now.
Good video, I don’t think they will do away with the SRT 392, I believe they will just add more horses/options to make it dominate over the Scat Pack bc you’re right, they are basically identical.

Q.Curry an awesome dilemma to have. I swapped hoods because the scat hood had fake inlets whereas the hellcat hood has functioning heat extractors and inlet. And of course, it looks way better. I’m proud of it being a scat tho.

I personally never drove the car in the rain because I never wanted to have that much power on a wet road, but your question is a good question. It’s a factory setup hood so I can only imagine that Dodge thought of that and doesn’t see it as a problem for the components that would get wet.
I love the Demon hood and since there is only 3314 Demon hoods out there, I don't see it as a problem if someone put a Demon hood on their Challenger or any hood for that matter. At the end of the day, the title and VIN ID the car for what it is. If someone isn't smart enough to do proper research and purchase a Challenger, or any vehicle without verifying the VIN, I believe that is their mistake. If it makes someone happy to put on a hood from another body style, who are we to judge? I would save the original hood and revert it back to original if new owner prefers that.
Since putting on the hellcat hood have you had any problem with water getting into your engine bay and sitting and or ruining anything? I've read about issues of water getting on the cold air intake and ABS module causing them to fail becuase of water coming through the vents.
Where did you get the hood ? Because I search them up and there’s different prices some for around 600 and others that might be believable for 1200 but idk because I want to wrap it black too

Basically Scatpacks are the 392 plain model's to upgrade them the way you whant to make them special your own way;After all remember that hot rods were made to be modified your own way and thats what's Dodge is giving us on the Scatpack platform...Enjoy!!!

Just get a scat pack if your planning on actually racing against a mustang or Camaro. I personally own a 2015 challenger r/t 8A and have modified it enough to hang with the 5.0 and ss. If I could do it again I'd get a scat pack from the start. Regardless if you get the 5.7 or the 6.4 they are both fun as hell to drive

@@santiagosalazar925 485 crank hp is no joke man believe me. The 6.4 will get you high hp figures cheaper then a 5.7 . If I had the same mods on a scat that I have on my rt I'd be 500whp no doubt. The scat pack also keeps more of its resale value if you ever decide to sell it too btw.

Good video..A lot of people want the HC Hood, & I’d like to have a Shaker Hood for my HC ;) I’m serious. Imo the the Challenger SP with the Shaker Hood just looks perfect.. Yes, SRT shot themselves in the foot by making the SP such a better, & more logical choice performance wise vs the SRT. If the guys at SRT were smarter than they are they’d let the SP have the 392, then Developed an engine that’s specific for SRT only (not the HC engine), but another N/A engine..a N/A 7Liter to be exact
Fulfilled Rogue 💯 the shaker hood is the absolute best! And yes, Dodge has made the straight SRT almost obsolete. Either we’ll see a new motor come about or the deletion of the SRT with the lineup being SC / HC / and maybe a 2019 Demon.
Nah. You gotta look back to the offerings of 2017. You’re misled because of the current lineup setup. But you can also just keep swiping and live your life🤷🏾♂️
If anyone could help me out, I just installed the same hood, if I put my car through a car wash would it hurt anything since the vents leak right into the engine. Also since it has a latch do I really need hood pins?
Ashruf Musleh water will definitely get in the engine bay but my car was fine with every wash. I’m not sure what you’re asking regarding hood pins. Did yours come with hood pins?
What you mean the only benefit you get from SRT is adjustable suspension? There’s more to lol you should look it up. There’s a lot of differences between SP and SRT. And yes motor is the same but SP is the upgraded version of the regular R/T cause it has SRT appearance to it and that’s probably why it says powered by SRT under the hood and I’m not being bias, just stating my opinion.
I don't know why ANYONE would use a blowtorch to wrap. I don't care how skilled you are with it you always run the risk of burning the film because of the flame being so localized. Just not a good idea.
Taj & Cars no i meant the engine. Will any electrical components short out from the rain? Because as if the regular srt hood didnt let in enough rain, the heat extractors will let in even more rain and could possibly short out the engine
VIC on ur PC yeah I know what you meant. It’s hard to say tho. Engine & component placements are about the same on both the hellcat and scat pack / SRT cars so one has to think that dodge has thought of this. The airbox sits just below the left extractor. Water getting in the airbox would be my only worry.

Was the hood e coated when you put the wrap on it?
FYI- Those marks on the bolts and hinge would only let you know how tight the bolts were. Has nothing to do with fitting a new hood. Cool vid tho.
