I just installed these on my 2016 Challenger Scat Pack after watching your video. It was scary drilling into my Shaker hood, but if you follow the step by step instructions in this video, you won’t have any problems and you’ll love the outcome. Thanks for making this video 👍😀👍
Followed your instructions step by step. Did it myself and it turned out amazing. Thanks so much for your help and the amazing video. With much gratitude.
Thanks for the video. It takes a lot of the fear out of drilling holes in my hood. I have a question and a couple of suggestions. Question: Is the piece with the adhesive backing made of metal pr plastic? I would like to make the whole kit matte black and want to know if I could powdercoat it or if I need to paint it. If it is metal, what type of metal is it and all the other metal pieces? Suggestions: While the video is very informative, it and many other videos on your channel are at a resolution of 240p. 240p! This makes it difficult to see the details. I was filming things back in 2007 on my blackberry phone that had a higher resolution. It's almost 2018 what are you guys filming with, a potato? While it may be okay to leave the exposed metal surfaces alone my ocd would force me to use some color matching touch up paint just so I could sleep at night. Also, again it may be fine but I would have to prepare the surface for the adhesive better. You just had a low tack tape on there and were touching it with your hands. While you did wipe it with a cloth you could be just pushing the low tack adhesive, dirt and oils around. I would have to wipe it down with some 91% isopropyl alcohol and then wipe it down with a 3m adhesion promoter pad. This would ensure a proper bond and my own sanity. All in all a very helpful video so thanks for putting it out there. Also, thanks for always promptly shipping parts to my house when I order from your site. Best Regards: Rick
Regarding pin height adjustment, do you leave any clearance between the torsion pin and scuff plate? Or set pin height to where they make contact with Jo clearance? Just installed mine, thanks to the help of your video, but am wondering about that if you don’t mind.
Thanks for the video !!! I just did this with the MOPAR hood pins I bought off you. Used on a fiberglass hood for a 2014 Challenger.....I drilled the first hole in slow reverse then the 1 1/4" hole saw in forward with gentle pressure. As a note the MOPAR hood pins say use 1" hole saw for the plastic which I did and way too small for the grommets....use 1 1/4" like you did. also for some reason I had to grind off over 1/4" of threads for the pins to thread down far enough...is that normal????
I had the top of my hood painted matte black and a hood pin kit installed on my new 2012 Ram Express shortbed single cab 4x4 . It came out great. But i buy replacement parts from Detroit Muscle as they are real. Mr. GASKET is garbage from China.
dude ever used a hole saw before? wtf.. looks tacky as hell too.. "adhesive" .. hahaha and he says "im not worrying about it corroding" hahahaha corrosion occurs when dissimilar metals are touching for extended periods of time, not when bare metal is exposed to the elements.... get someome who knows what they are doing for these videos.. smh
sorry its not to your standard, thats the install procedure, all Challenger hoods are aluminum and will not corrode, we have installed at least a 100+, some are 4 or 5 years old now with no issue, also these where actually crash tested by Mopar for FCA
This is the best hood pin install video I have seen. This guy did a fantastic job. Thanks for the video.
thank you

Nice work! After watching the video, it’s not as complicated as I thought!
Excellent step-by-step video and tips. You made the install easy and straight forward. Thanks!
My Mopar Hood Pins are on the way from you guys. I hope I am as relaxed as you when I put them in.

Thanks for this video guys! I installed pins in my Challenger this past weekend and wouldn’t have had the guts to do it myself without this video.
great tutorial! simple and straight to the point. thank you!
Thanks, I have a set coming and it helped the stress factor of drilling in my driver even thou I’ve done hundreds on stock cars!

Thanks Rick,
We just received your comment and will read it and reply just give us some time.
Thanks for your understanding.
Toodles!!
I don't plan on doin hood pins but if I do, I'll definitely use this video for the install!! Great video!!
Awesome work. Great Video . Thank you! I’m about to do it to my Redeye Hood. Pray for me.
Thinking about doing this in my RT Magnum. Thanks for the video steve!
I didn't notice. Were all the parts required listed somewhere?
Aluminum DOES corrode btw. Take the extra couple of minutes to paint the bare metal. Rust is only one type of corrosion.
Bingo!

Great Video, Thank you!
Ahhhh. How do you adjust the height of the pin????
easy, turn the pin, its threaded
Steve White Parts awesome thanks! I ordered these. What are you doing this weekend? Lol
Got the Redeye all prepared. Waiting the FedX guy to drop off my kit.
So the factory doesn’t install these? From what I’ve gathered only the Chrysler dealers install the hood pins.
no, the factory does install these
Could you tell me size of bit ?
How do you adjust the height of the pin
screw in and out

Maybe, however after well over a hundred plus installs over the last 6 years no issues, including one of my own challenger now 7 years old
Is this only for Challenger? Is there a kit for Charger, part number?
at this time yes, Challenger
Great video.... would this be this be the same install on a 2016 challenger hellcat?
Looks like a pain in the ass.
Nice Luke. Great job. Hey when my 1320 car comes in can I get them installed? How much for labor? I did my last ones but too scared now
Perfect 🔥
What’s something like this cost ?
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Man i would do this but i still don't trust myself to drill those holes lol
For OEM they don’t come with template
no, but if you follow the video pretty easy to do
Of course
steal some of your girls nailpolish for the marking, works well
What the Mopar part#
Working shop
but why do you need to do this?
for security these are functional and for looks
Wtf!!!! are you kidding me drill through a perfectly good hood!!!!!!!!!
How else would you put them on?
Anthony why are you getting upset about a hood pin install? There has to be a hole in the hood.
I had the top of my hood painted matte black and a hood pin kit installed on my new 2012 Ram Express shortbed single cab 4x4 . It came out great. But i buy replacement parts from Detroit Muscle as they are real. Mr. GASKET is garbage from China.
not crazy about the adhesive part of the install.......
Emblems are installed with adhesive too!
I can not watch this anymore!!!!
not for every body, but for many its old school.....
It’s the damn noise holy crap I don’t know who is banging what but holy Christ
Whats the point of this? Jw
The hood pin kit keeps the hood from popping open during hard launches, especially at the drag strip.
