Big thumbs-up to Tekton for including some storage space for extra bits and pieces. I hate cases where there's no room to add anything.
yes it's very handy. I keep a gearwrench thumbwheel drive, an old craftsman breaker bar, a titan swivel head, and a few bit drives in there. all 1/4" of course
The Tekton is the best in my opinion, get a 15 shallow and deep, and some bit sets and throw them in the empty compartment and you are set
Tekton is decent for what it is but its nothing compared to the USA made tools
I didn’t hear him say anything about a 15mm..? 14mm was the max.

We use the cheaper one at the shop 6 days a week and the only bad thing about that set is the ratchet.

I like the cases with extra storage trays! You could add a flex head ratchet or longer/shorter ratchet, making the set expandable.
I have the SK set it's the 44 version.
I found it in the middle of the road.
has a few additions. Some of the sockets have been replaced by Mac or Matco and the ratchet is a Snap-On. I also added a U-joint to it.
And the price lol yup. Gotta love it. It is a replacement for my dad's old excelite set which was only standard there was no metric in it.

i love my 1/4 drive SK and ratchets i have run SK for most of my career
Best bargain set. I ordered a Teq Pro 1/4" drive. (rebranded gearwrench) Advanced Auto house brand on clearance from $30 to $15 before they switched from Teq Pro to Diehard. I got an email saying your order is ready. I went to the store they said a clerk sold the last one. The manager gave me the 40pcs set for $15. Smart guy, he made a loyal customer out of someone that just wanted a ratchet on sale. I buy everything from that store now.

The Bargain set is made by Satagood tools. I just bought their larger set that also includes 1/2 inch sockets up to 32mm. Very good value and got my jobs done.

I own the casoman set. I've used it a couple of times and it's been fine so far.
Yeah I used it before I gave it away. Its decent.
The SK set,you don't have to see a SK dealer if the ratchet starts to skip.You email SK for a ratchet repair kit which they send out for free and don't want the old parts back.Real simple to change,all you need is a good pair of needle nose pliers to release the clip out holding the ratcheting mechanism in.SK has a set bigger than the 48 piece set,a 60 piece set part number 91860 which I have this set.GM and Ford use 5.5 mm headed fastners a lot.One is coil pack bolts holding the coils in GM coil pack set ups

My snap on dealer said if you’re willing to wait the comparable snappy set on sale is 50 - 55 percent off. It goes on sale every 6-12 months
At 50% off is still way too much. A fool and his money are soon separated.

The comparable Snap-on 44 pc set retails today (4-28-23) at $1,110. Rediculous. With the emergence of mid-range quality tools like Gearwrench, Capri, Tekton and others, Snap-on's greed and gouge pricing is going to make them less and less relevant.
That truck though . Get's them every time.
Can’t go wrong with the SK set, made in USA and has a great warranty. You can buy 8 of them for the price of the SO. I’m pretty sure the SK 1/4 ratchet is 60 tooth. I like that they are a little smaller as well and they have a sweet back drag.
I used to have the older 3/8 sk ratchet and yeah I was also going to say it is a 60tooth ratchet and were made back before the lower tighter swing ratchets were very common..

I have the tekton set with the older 72 tooth and gearwrench with the 90 tooth. I prefer gw because of the better ratchet and knurling makes the sockets easier to grip. Tekton is a very solid set though and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it

What should give anyone pause if they are considering Snap On is you could purchase three of every set seen in this video and they would still be less expensive than the single Snap On 1/4 inch set off of eBay.
These are some nice sets. I was able to pick up the Gearwrench set on sale but with their better ratchet. Otherwise I likely would have gotten the Capri or Tekton.
GearWrench or Tekton are the way to go here. I ended up with GW for the 15mm, but I’d go with Tekton fir 3/8 and 1/2, hands down.

Yes sir, this is only a small fraction of what's out there. It is good there are some high quality low cost options though. I was very surprised at the bargain set and its variety for the price point.

ok tell me which one of any of them can I buy and use 5 days a week for 25 years and then sell it on ebay for more than I paid for it like I have done with snap on. so I used it for 25 years to make money for free. all you have to do is hold onto them. best investment in the world!
The Tekton. It has a transferable lifetime warranty,even if it changes hands the tools have a always guarantee. Also,they are some of the toughest tools I've seen tested they are based out of Michigan and have the best customer support I've ever experienced. Thanks Shawn from customer service for crediting my account for the extra 5 bucks even though I bought my new ratchet before the sale happened!

O Reilly makes a really good set power torque 1/4 73 piece part number gm4324. I use both of mine almost everyday. Brake one thing you get a whole new set. I just replace the ratchet to a snap on.
SK is 60T you can get a gear kit DT 120 ... for it & double the tooth ct, to 120T
Love tekton tools but I never use u-joint adapters I'd rather use a swivel socket I only wish tekton put nuraling on the sockets that's the only reason I like some of the gear wrench sockets 😊
"Pass through" is called a spinner handle.
Pear head wrenches naturally allow more range of rotation before having to turn back than a round guy.
That SK ratchet looks like dollar tree junk.
The SK is 120 tooth watch that ratchet is awesome

I'd say the best two sets other than the sk is the Capri and the number one being the gearwrench. I'd rank tekton as 3rd
Gearwrench and SATA are both owned by apex, with SATA being the cheaper option. That’s why they seem to have interchangeable parts.
I was looking at Tekton & Capri, ended up getting Halfords Advanced for £38.. lifetime warranty and price won me over
Hi Just Wrench it. I could really use some advice. I just received the exact Casoman set you reviewed, and to be honest, I'm not impressed. The ratchet is crappy and there is a lot of slop with all fittings on the anvil. I haven't owned too many socket sets, is there supposed to be slop in the way the sockets and extensions fit on the anvil? I'm thinking of getting the Tekton 1/4 inch set instead. Since you have had both, is there a big difference in quality in your opinion? Thanks. Very nice review BTW.
Yes there was some slop in the casoman. The tekton ranks high on my list and would not disappoint you.

Yes, both Gearwrench and SATA are made by Apex Tool Group.
I own the Sata kit and its the best deal on the planet, made in Taiwan same as Gearwrench. For the price of the SK , I can buy 8 sets an even the 120xp ratchets.
Compared to tekton ? Tekton has better longer wall reduction/taper and better warranty and selection

25:52...Those ratchets aren't bad in a kit...I mean they're not going to give you a $60 ratchet in a $66 kit...
28:28.. yes Gearwrench and Sata are both made by Apex Tool Group...
34:20... probably someone who doesn't know that you absolutely do not want Chrome on the inside of the socket the same way it is on the outside of the socket... if you use them you're going to scratch them and when you scratch them that Chrome is going to peel and break and start changing the sizes of your sockets...
the way that SK has done the inside of the socket is the proper way to do sockets....
I really like that Capri set, but they don’t make it anymore. They had a really nice set with sockets and wrenches. I wanted it, but it went out of stock. Never came back and discontinued. I really want a USA made set, but the SnapOn one is $1000 now. Mac is about to have theirs on sale for $325 or so. I’m considering it, but we’ll see.

The Capri set is still AWOL! It's too easy to see Crapi when I see the name 😅. That case is huge but it looks good.
You mention the lack of bits in the tekton set. Then mention the cavity in the case. Which is for bits. We all have them already anyway. Just put some of them in there and you are good.

I call bullshit on the SK stuff being much if any better then the Capri or Tekton it's just made in the us and stuff is just more expensive to produce here in general not necessarily higher quality. Not to mention the Tekton Capri Gear wrench all come with good warranty,especially the Tekton.
Depends on how much you care, sk is definitely, the tolerance of the socket onto the bolt is alot tighter then Capri and tekton, and the play of the socket on the rather anvil is smaller on sk could be nothing to some people but some people like that extra quality, I love Capri, tekton, and sk but so does have some aspects of better quality.

@@fatharold1788 there is a lot of people including actual grease monkeys like my self going to Tekton for their sockets and ratchets. I would love to own SK or any other American made product but I find it hard to justify the price when some brands like Snap-on, Mac and matco are just rebranded and brands like SK and Williams are awfully expensive. I started my apprenticeship with American made Craftsman but retired that kit for home use and been using Tekton and Capri. As far as pliers goes I use Knipex, Irwin Visegrips and kleins. Wrenches I do have Williams for non ratcheting but won my metrics from Christmas raffle that work had and bought the standard to match and I use Gearwrench ratcheting wrenchs.
@@desertratedc9596 100% the usefulness of the tool isn't in the name. It's in its ability to complete a job. My Tekton stuff has held out extremely well and their customer service is top notch,they are based out of Michigan and are legit great people.
@@fatharold1788 you should honestly give at least tekton and capri a shot,they make some quality tools. It doesn't have to have the same brand name for 100 years to be a quality product.
