What if I told you they have been around for over 50 years? That they are based in the Midwest or that they sell quite a few US made tools? Surprised? Don't feel bad, so was I.

I had purchased a Tekton 1/2 Torque wrench and my son was adjusting it and accidentally undid the whole knurled knob which caused it to come apart. I filled out Tekton online claim form for their anytime warranty on a Wednesday, not expecting anything since it was our fault, had a new Torque wrench by Tuesday the following week. That convinced me to purchase their deep well impact sockets for working on some old but still functioning Hondas. That's the kind of customer service lacking in many retailers today
For good reason. Tekton lost money because of your son playing with your tools. Not really fair to them but that's crazy they sent you a new one.
people abusing good warranties is the reason products that carry those warranties explode in price or lose the good service

@@eduardosampoia5480-- I agree with you on that. It's possible Tekton had already received other requests/complaints re the poor construction/accuracy of the product. This was an inexpensive way to resolve the matter. It's possible the purchase involved an older model of the torque wrench (determined by its serial number) that was known to be defective, and Tekton was just doing the right thing. They kept a customer and may have convinced others to buy their products going forward. That's a win-win.
I like what Tekton is doing as a company, definitely going in the right direction.

What do you think of the impacts? I know a few years back some people were saying some negative stuff but I know they changed suppliers since then.
@@denoftools well I noticed that I can get bolts off with my tekton sockets that snap on or matco couldn't I have only been a mechanic for a few months but I think there great and not as expensive as snap on or matco we just got a matco dealer back a few weeks ago the one before guys told me that matco guy before didn't come by the shop for a year and half and would just park down the street at the bar and drink all day and he was doing that to almost all the other shops in town come to find out from what I heard from other shops
@@denoftools I'd go grey pneumatic for impacts. One of my boxes is tekton wrenches and sockets, mayhew for picks and bars, Klein for screwdrivers, knipex for pliers... dollar to quality amount I think that's dann hard to beat. My tekton impacts is one of the only sockets I broke so those live in my truck now
@@denoftools picked up a set of 1/2" 12 point and 3/8" deep impacts a few months ago and they're above average so far. It'd be nice if they stamped the sizes as well as the etch but fit and finish is on point. I'll let you know if I break one but so far so good. Ride them hard and put them away wet daily as shop diesel mechanic.

Taiwan quality is usually a big step up from China
railmastercnr i have an antique 3/4 drive CRAFTSMAN ratchet that is stamped Taiwan. They out sourced many years ago on many items but hate the china design on alot of their items. I just bought the ratcheting wrench set from tekton because its $50 and a six point.
The place of origin, in the absence of hard data, is not helpful. Think the Pinto and 2017 VW. China manufactures anything according to the customer's specifications.
@@aguilayserpiente that's not entirely true. Read the book "Poorly made in China". The gist of the book is that Chinese companies will keep lowering the quality of the various components as far as they can so they make a larger profit. In the case of this book, it was shampoo and soap - they started replacing the specified ingredients with ones that were actually unsafe. Basically they just keep doing that until the company that contracted them notices. If you're a big company and can have a lot of oversight you'll probably be fine, but if you're a smaller company...avoid manufacturing in China.
Now, to be fair I think things have improved since that book was written, but I don't doubt it's still a thing.
@Elijah Watson You did not cite a passage from the book that you purport to offer as evidence indicating that Tekton wrenches or any wrench are poor quality (according to some undetermined quality standard) a fortiori because they were manufactured in China as opposed to the United States. See FRE 801, www.columbia.edu/~mr2651/ecommerce3/2nd/statutes/FRE.pdf. Tekton wrenches are at issue. Hard data showing inadequate performance are the relevant evidence.
"Poorly made in China" is a satire and does not purport to be a work of sociology or an FTC investigation. Your Chinese cell phone and computer did well to permit you type in this forum. Your Chinese clothes, construction components, printer, auto components, main frames at Youtbue, mouse, keyboard, furniture, etc, all enabled you to make it to work or school without disintegrating.
If we use the reasoning of the satire and your post, that your day was uneventful, despite you being swaddled in Chinese products, means that all Chinese exports are good. That, too, would be faulty reasoning, which no one is asserting (at least no one who remembers the Ford Pinto and its progeny). Country of origin is a mantra where there is a pecuniary interest on the part of the proponent- usually a schmo seeking heart balm, because he paid $127 for a Snap On wrench indistinguishable from a $11.99 Harbor Freight wrench. Folks, ROE and ROI are all that matter in an any venture.
@@piepang7323 Random comments offered as "reviews" on Amazon are not data but are hearsay that could be made by employees of the competition. Evidence must be verifiable such as a study compiled by Consumer Reports, a .edu, or .gov source. As I indicated in my posts above, the country of origin claim of quality is heart balm for persons, who paid $130 for a Snap On product that performs no better than a substitutable product selling for $13. Claims of "quality" are zero talk, because such claims are not verifiable nor measurable quantitatively. ROE and ROI are all that matter.
Tekton is what replaced Crapsman for me. I even like their tools better.
Cjinglaterra craftsman is garbage now, I bought a torque wrench for $90, opened it and discovered it only had a one year warranty, returned it, and bought two Tekton torque wrenches for the same price, with lifetime warranties
A lot of us has Craftsman at one point. They never were a high quality tool.
I'm looking at replacements for my Craftsman as well. For a while I went with a company out of the Midwest called Menards, a lot of their tools were still US Made and mid grade quality. Of course, they went to mainly Chinese made tools now though. So off to find another replacement. Right now I have been comparing Gearwrench vs Tekton. Tekton seems to be winning my favor.

Craftsmen was a high quality tool in the early days. I had a good set in 1980. If you call it Crapsmen then your probably right, they’ve gone down hill. Lowe’s owes them now so we’ll see what they do with the brand?
90%+ of my tools are Craftsman from the time they were "Made in USA". When they switched to overseas I've been looking for a new company to support. Your videos on them convinced me to give them a try. I order an 8-piece impact set (1 in and up). I needed the size and I'm willing to give em a chance. Made in Taiwan (a country I have visited a lot for work and I love the people, the government and their ethics), and maybe they are my go to moving forward. I ordered directly through their website.
Torque test channel tests wrenches. Tekton wrenches scored just as good as USA Craftsman, and better than everything else.
I’ll also give Tekton my vote. I had abused one of their channel lock type wrenches and knocked a couple of the teeth out. I submitted a claim on line and they sent me a replacement and asked that I use the wrench properly going forward - a reasonable request. They let me keep the first one. Great company. I now look for Tekton when shopping for a new tool.

Bro, I just became a diesel tech myself. And Snap-On is just too expensive for me to start with. I've been looking for other affordable options and I think Tekton is a good option. Eventually I will get Snap-On but for now I hope Tekton works.

@imgone Well if a professional mechanic is worried about breaking these cheaper priced tools. Buy two of each commonly used ones. So you will have a immediate back up while you wait for a replacement. Plus you will still SPEND LESS vs high priced tools.
Troy Schuller All things being equal I would also prefer a U.S. made tool. Unfortunately today it is more and more difficult to find and its often cost prohibitive. A quality Taiwanese tool will usually work very well at a much more affordable price. If a company like Tekton is able to sell there tools at a reasonable cost and stand behind them if you experience any issues, that is a win win for most consumers who don't need the quality of a Snap-on tool. Tool truck tools are usually not worth the premium price for most tool users you are paying a large premium for that quality increase the law of diminishing returns kicks in.

Carlyle and Teckton are my "go-to " tools since I've walked away from Craftsmen.
I love Carlyle, but they are getting hard to find at some NAPAs.

I recently (7 mos. ago) returned a set of Carlyle 1/2in hex bit sockets. They were truly and utterly bad quality. First, the indents on the sockets would not secure onto the ratches (I tried several different ratches. Craftsman, pittsburgh, and tekton.) They'd just fall off the ratches. Second, where they broach the metal to insert the hex bit, instead of cleaning out or "swaging", for lack of a better word, out the material that's displaced during the broaching process, they left it in there. The excess material is brittle, and as I found out, actually breaks off in chucks, which fell into a head I had off. Not good. Third, the hex bits were bent. There was a curve to them, even the 3/8 hex. The last thing was the fishish. It reminded me of the finish on tools from china and India from the late 80's and early 90's. The chrome had flaws like bumps from welding spatter and the size stamp on each socket (what looked like cold rolled stamping) was nearly illegible. One of the few tools I've ever returned. I paid for USA made quality and got a load of crap.
I absolutely love Tekton tools. Started stocking up on their impact socket sets last year. Incredible prices and NO SKIPS!
Also I'm a tool junkie and no skip mean a lot to me even though I know there are sizes ill NEVER use. Just feels weird missing them.
same. worse if you have the numbered socket rails and there are empty spaces. all you think about is that empty spot until you bite the bullet and purchase the 5 or so missing sockets in all 3 sizes

Nice find. Any time I’ve seen tekton on Amazon I assumed they were a cheap overseas company kinda thing. Sometimes being wrong is pretty good. I’m gonna give them a shot.

I made Tekton my first choice in tools last year when I started buying my own. I like wasting some bucks on exspensive brands sometimes, but im gunning for tek when im being real with my money.

Finally someone showcases my favorite hand tool company. I switched from Craftsman to Tekton about two yrs ago and it's a way better product. As I switched I gave away my Craftsman stuff
I discovered Tekton after I discovered, the hard way, that Craftsman is no longer USA made. I managed to break a couple of old Craftsman ratchets in 1/4" and 1/2" drive. I got them replaced under warranty at Lowes, but saw a video that told me that Stanley owns the Craftsman brand now and has outsourced their manufacture to China. I felt ripped off! Tekton makes about 20% of their tools in the USA, 70% in Taiwan, and the rest in Mainland China (according to their website - highly recommended). On their website, each tool or tool line gets a "specifications" page which lists exactly where the item is made. I like that. I have a couple of their Taiwanese tools and the quality seems to be very good. Of course you can't beat their warranty. I will be sticking with Tekton going forward.
Here in the Midwest there is a regional store named "Big R" that is like a Tractor Supply on steroids and lower prices. It's one of my favorite local stores and fortunately is only a mile from my work. They carry a whole isle of Tekton tools and I have used a few here and there. I always assumed them to be a cheap brand but never really looked into them. Three weeks ago I searched your channel for a Tekon review and didn't find one so I then did my own research. After my research, I decided my next socket sets will all be Tekton. Thank you for your review, it confirms my thinking and my thoughts of the company and their tools. Shine on!
Tekton gave our high school auto shop tools half off after our instructor met with someone from their company. I love them the wrenches are top quality and the small 3/8ths tool kit is easy to grab and the button style ratchets are amazing

I love how they don't skip sizes! The complete set actually makes it cheaper than buying a set that is incomplete and you need to buy individual sockets or wrenches to complete the set.

You make enjoyable videos Bear. I live in Michigan and have some very old MIT tools. They were a bargain brand that were sold in places like Big Lots, (back when Big Lots actually sold tools). I have some Tekton tools and they really are nice tools with a great warranty. It's good to see them get some well deserved recognition. I like my Tekton tools better than my Gear Wrench tools because they just seem to have a nicer finish - at least on the ones that I've acquired.
Way too many companies don't realize the value of a good website, (or are too cheap to put any money into supporting one.) The Tekton website is the best tool website I've ever seen. My hat's off to Tekton for that.
As a side note, I think the reason that Tekton doesn't brag about some of their tools being made in the USA is because then you'll have people asking why every tool they sell isn't made here. The fact is that so much manufacturing has gone overseas that there just aren't that many companies the manufacture tools in the USA anymore.
Amazing I've honestly never heard of them and I'm so glad that I saw this because it seriously time to start replacing all of my old stuff from every different brand you can imagine. I acutely worked for a company that bought all of our tools over my 30 years career witch is amazing and they retired with me !! That said you don't take as good of care of them when your not paying for them...its just a fact and they never stuck with the same brands most were State Bid I believe. Anyway its time for a new streamline set of tools and im going to take a serious look at these..Especially with the replacement policy...Thats just awesome!!

I'm a student at a trade school and before I started going I was only really buying tekton, but when I found out they have a student discount for 15% along with the 10% back still. I absolutely love their tools and will continue to buy until I have a full box

I really wish they would bring back U.S. tool manufacturing. I literally have tools like craftsman and Irwin that are going on 20 years strong. I have a 1/2" craftsman ratchet from 1971 that was passed down to me still in use. I stumbled across Tekton at a time I needed tools for a new job but didn't have the money to spend and man did I luck out. I have those black with red handled screw drivers at the end of the video and they are awesome! I love how they fit my big mitts. They are very easy to grip and turn. They also have what they are marked on the end so when they sit in tool boxes face down you still know what they are. I've been beating them up for a few years now and I haven't broken a tip yet, knock on wood!
I love their tools. I made a video of me reviewing 2 of their socket sets. The main gripes I had, it seems that they fixed in their newer sets. I didn't like the fat headed ratchets, and they now have thinner profile ones. They also added a few sockets to the sets that I wanted. I love that their screwdrivers are USA made. Some of their pliers are as well. I wish most of their impact sockets were Chrome Moly, but their larger ones are. Their wrenches have been amazing for me so far. I love their warranty.

Thanks for making this video. I'm a builder and I've noticed I'm lacking in automotive tools. I'm not planning on being a pro mechanic, and I can't justify Snap On prices. I love that they are moving more manufacturing to the USA, and I love their warranty process.
Just ordered $180 worth of Tekton tools, I've had a few of their pliers that I've been happy with. I actually found a small display of Tekton tools at Meijer, a local-ish grocery store chain here in Milwaukee.
Just went from San Diego to Goodyear to check out Tekton after watching this awesome video. Ordered no skip set and some individuals (11 and 13mm hex sockets) thanks Mercedes! I also bought the no skip 19 piece metric 3/8” set. Since they don’t have a “how did you hear about us” when ordering I went to the help page to say I’m filling my toolbox with their tools because of you (and their awesome tools for the price). Wouldn’t have found them without you. I showed my wife snap on prices and she just about shizzled her pants.

I use a Tekton torque wrench at work to periodically torque down the way caps on our hydraulic brake presses and have seen other Tekton tools in stores... I'd have to admit that I am impressed with the quality of what I've seen and when it comes time to replace an old tool or get something new, they'll certainly be on my list of brands to consider.
Here in Michigan back when they were MIT we would joke that it stood for Made In Taiwan tools (probably part of the reason they changed their name). They have improved massively over the last decade or two. I absolutely love the ratcheting socket wrench set I got from them years ago. Still works great today. Although to be honest I bought plenty of them before they were what they are now...
In the Midwest they are the primary tools sold at all Meijer locations.
Great company review. I didn't realize they were headquartered right up the road from me in GR. The local farm/fleet store carried them until just recently. According to their website, there are still 30 stores within a 50 mile radius that carry them (mostly Meijer stores). I've got a good selection of Tekton in the toolbox, including that torque wrench that I got for less than $20 when the farm store put Tekton on clearance.

I have a 3/8 Socket set 47- piece and it’s amazing. I got it for 40 bucks from amazon and they work great. I keep the box in my car, and they have been far more useful and plus they are amazingly responsive with their warranty as well. I had an issue with the socket wrench and they sent out a repair kit next business day.
Bear, I watched this about a year ago and recently decided to add the ratcheting combination wrenches to my kit. So I ordered the NO SKIP Metric set. Once they arrived I put them through their paces and they are absolutely great and strong. Thanks!
Definitely correct when they said about the industry moving towards bit drivers rather than have a hex bolster on screwdrivers. I used to only buy screwdrivers with this feature, but in the last few years I found myself just going for the bit driver sockets rather than having to mess around with putting a wrench on the screwdriver. Sometimes you don't have enough room to swing a wrench, which is where the sockets really make all the difference.
I’ve had a 3/8” socket kit, that has no skipped sizes metric and sae, breaker bar handful of extensions and pretty nice ratchet. I absolutely love the set. Granted I’ve never use Mac or snap on tools, but everyone I help out is impressed with the set. I plan on picking up the 1/4” complete set, and potentially a wrench set or 2
i love that the set dont skip sizes. the 19 piece metic ratcheting wrench set goes 6-24 even has the 23! watch the ratchet review video to it ties with snap on canked till fail
I'm an ATV mechanic and have a Tekton extension set, torx bit set, brass hammer, torque wrench, and breaker bar. All of which are over a year old now and used daily with no issues. First day I brought in the Torx set one of the guys was like "finally bought some SnapOn tools huh?" I said nope it's Tekton. His response was "well I've never heard of them but they look like they should have a lifetime warranty". Indeed they do! And a better one than Snap On if you ask me. Will definitely pick up more of their stuff in the future.
Thanks for all the info on the company and their products. I'm just a homeowner/diy'er but after too many years of not having the right tool for the job, or missing the correct size wrench, I ordered their combination wrenches and socket set. I'm looking forward to finally having some nice tools!

As a 50 year Toolmaker, I can tell the quality of a tool from the "feel" I bought a set of Tekton allen wrenches knowing nothing about Tekton, just needing some wrenches and not wanting to spend a lot as I'm looking to retire.
That said, I could tell that the wrenches were high quality from the jump, and it turns out that they are Vanadium steel, great stuff and really cheap.
If I were younger and just starting out, I would tool up with Tekton and put the money I saved in the bank!
Don't forget, they have a 30% trade school student discount. Works seamlessly with the 10% back rewards program, and just like the rewards program, it applies to EVERYTHING on the site. I'm always checking their website and they have continuously introduced new tools for the past year. Customer service is far superior to any tool truck brand. I accidentally placed 2 back to back orders online for the exact 3 items (router cut out and it didn't indicate the sale went through the first time, even though it actually did). Customer service rep (shoutout to David Kuiper at Tekton) emailed AND called within 5 minutes to make sure I actually wanted both orders or if it was a mistake. That would never happen with the tool truck guys. I can't say enough about them. Thanks for the video! I had no idea they had a storefront. I'll have to check them out.
I recently bought 4 sets of sockets. Love the 6-24 sets with the twist lock for the sockets! I have 3-4 more sets of sockets to order. Upgrading old tools to newer ones.
I'm glad I watched this after I bought the prybars and dead blows. Just reassured my purchase. Also, I'm probably gonna go with Tekton over Icon. The prices are comparable, more available, and they seem to be a bit better overall.
I’ve been very happy with the few tekton things I’ve bought, will definitely be seriously considering tekton for anything I need and they actually make. I just hope they don’t start jacking up prices or get bought out and cheapened up, they have a great price to performance ratio and really do hit the absolute sweet spot for price vs quality.
Couple thoughts, first off whomever told you the snap on reps can only send stuff once a month lied. There can be issues with a rep but any decent rep such as mine its next week if he does not have the replacement tool. If I absolutely need it sooner usually it can be had in a matter of 2-3 days. As for Tekton, I have been beyond satisfied and impressed. I made a purchase on their site only to see a public coupon code for Tekton a couple hours later. I called the next day, and a gentleman that spoke english very well answered immediately and applied the code to my order. I also broke a pry bar, emailed a picture, 3 days later a new one was at my house. Crazy good company to deal with.
Love my Tekton tools. I've been using mine for the last 4 years on a daily basis in the automotive industry. Great price, love the molded case, the non skip sockets, complete sets. The price has gone up slightly but would highly recommend.
I'm not going to lie when you got to the part about their replacement of their tooling and all you have to do is send a picture That's amazing for any company
Tekton has some amazing quality tools. I spent about a thousand dollars on upgrading everything I own to Tekton. I can not find any company anywhere doing what they are doing. Hands down the best service and guarantee anywhere. My only gripe is they updated all of their socket sets weeks after I spent a small fortune buying all their sets in a span of a week. The tools are still great but now I feel like all my tools are outdated and not the best. Definitely soured me but what am I gonna do. If I had waited just 2 weeks I would have gotten all the updated ratchets with my sets🤨
Trucker88 just dropped 1600 switching everything over to Tekton myself. Yes it sucks you got the older sets but little by little buy it all again, fuck it! Have two sets of everything. Tool addiction is amazing. Learn to embrace it!
I only started using some of their tool a few months ago and I honestly have to say I have been impressed. I am a auto tech and my tools do get a serious workout. I have used some of their impact sockets and none of them are fatigued, or started rounding and getting sloppy or break. That impressed me. All my impacts are the maximum torque impacts that Snap-on sells both 3/8 and 1/2 drive.
This is really good to know. I've picked up a couple small things from them but have been hesitant because I'd never really heard of them and some their prices seem too good to be true.
I love that each of their socket kits can come as Metric only and with a breaker bar. Now I wish they would make a full 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drive combined kit.
Do they ever have sales though?

I bought a complete 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" ratchet socket set, as well as a handful of other sets and ratchets individually to replaced some of my cheap aging tools. I'm super looking forward to getting it all setup and put into my tool box.
I am from Michigan, and our big chain grocery store 'Meijer's' carries Tekton toolz. I've never given them a second look. But now that Sears has gone by the wayside, I recently purchased a ratchet. And I am impressed. So much, that during this video I opened an account with Tekton!
I still find myself using a wrench on a screwdriver's shaft from time to time. I say this as a guy who likes Tekton tools; I dislike taking options away from users.
When my harbor freight tools break, I replace them with a Tekton variety.
I just bought a Tekton ratchet handle because it looked like my favorite bent handle Snap-on ratchet when I was a mechanic but only 1/4 the price I didn't know they used to be Michigan Industrial Tool I used to buy them all the time back in the day!

Wonderful video! I own some of the combination wrenches, impact sockets, and a basic metric/SAE 3/8” set with ratchet. I love their stuff. At first, I did love their impact sockets, and they do perform well...BUT the laser etching does ware off after some use. Overall, great tools and I’ve never had one fail me yet.

That's a nice store. I feel companies like Capri or Tekton is the Craftsman of my generation. I'd get those long flex head ratcheting wrenches.
I hope the quality of their ratchet wrenches have gotten better. I tried out a set a couple years ago and they were by far the worst wrenches Iv ever tried. The ratchet mechanism was sloppy and the open end open up instantly. Both side of the wrench were the worst Iv ever tried to use.
They ditched the old design and came out with a 90 tooth ratchet there is another guy on TH-cam that side a break strength challenge between about 8 different makers including snapon ratchets and the Tekton won the shootout it never broke even at 650ftlbs of torque on it ... all the others broke around 275ftlbs or less. The tekton handle just bent and then the guy bent it back and did the test again. I’m pretty impressed with the tools I have from them and the quality is way better than craftsman or harbor freight

I have a set of their ratcheting wrenches. Bought them in 2021. They seem like good quality. I use them at work. They don’t get a lot of use but I’ve never had a problem with them.
Stephen, I bought a set of their flex head ratcheting wrenches last year and I've been happy with the quality. The 72 tooth mechanism is tight with no slop. The click of the teeth is almost as loud as a click style torque wrench. Possibly they've made some improvements? I haven't abused them or anything but for a diy car guy (repair and restoration) they seem to b about right. For a pro tech in a dealership I couldn't say
I've been using these tools for the past year and the quality is good. I have a mix of Snap-On, Mac and these and I don't feel they're any less quality. All tools can break. I'm JUST now learning on their replacement process. That's awesome! Thanks for this video!

I have a full set of tools form Tekton. I use them daily in an automotive shop, and they have NEVER failed me. I have used them now for 4 years. I have watched the torture test on TH-cam and Tekton matched snapon before failure

I love this brand,I mean they're not as good as Gearwrench,snap on or the other name brands but they're pretty damn close. Plus they're way more cost effective and Tekton has their foot in the door for way more different markets in Diy.
Tekton 3/8 ratchet has proved to outperform snapon's 3/8 ratchet
I would put them up against any of my gear wrench stuff. I feel that they are superior to gearwrench

Bought full sets of their wrenches in SAE and Metric. Extremely nice and decent price.
I'll have to check out some of their other items. My first Tekton purchase was a 12" adjustable wrench from Amazon. The jaws had way too much slop and were nowhere close to parallel when under load. The handle was also super thin when compared to my Crescent brand, so breaking stubborn nuts with a hammer-blow from your fist wasn't viable.
I grew up with my dad heading down to Sears and getting any-time-any-way replacement on his Craftsman tools.
And what impressed me about Tekton while reading up on them, and seeing reviews - I was instantly on board. Decent price, American company (even if not all their products are made in the USA.) So, yea, their impact socket set is no joke. The case is sturdy, the sockets are very scoochem. I will be a return customer.

I've yet to venture to the Tekton line, but with all of the positivity behind their tools that I've seen, if I'm in need, it will definitely be in the running. Until Stanley gets their promised factory built and start manufacturing the Craftsman Brand in the USA again, I'm at the mercy of what's available if I'm against the wall and a clock on a job. Thanks for the video. For me, Tekton filled the void that Sears Craftsman left several years ago. I love that they have SKUs for most individual tools, so if you have a problem, you only have to try and warranty a single tool, not the whole set (hello, Harbor Freight). I also live their attitude of "our name is on it, it's our job to make it right"

after sears became a sellout, their tools became SHIT.. (when I was growing up, they were the best a working man could afford and still be of good quality and an unbeatable warranty, go to any local (HAHHA) store, get a replacement, happy consumer)

Just did a warranty on one of their punches and it was a no questions asked easiest online warranty ever. Makes me wanna buy more of their tools.
I recently purchased 2 each of the Tekton 1/4" , 3/8" and 1/2" socket sets , to build a pair of service carts for our new shop. I was very pleased with the quality and definitely the price. The problem is, one of the 1/4" drive deep sockets was defective. Not that it was not usable, it was not stamped all the way through and the broach was not opened up all the way so in the case where you would need a deep socket, you could not use it as such. Also, it would not sit on the harbor freight or Hansen Socket organizers (the pegs on either would not pass through the small defective broach hole). I sent them the online form with the photo of it next to the other sockets. Their first answer was, they will not warranty it as it is still usable to turn a fastener and not every broach is punched all the way through. When I replied and explained why it should be replaced, that all the other sockets in all six sets I bought were punched all the way through, the warranty guy saw in my picture the socket organizer and in stead of focusing on the fact that a long bolt would not pass into the deep well of the socket, focused on that Tekton only authorizes socket trays made by Tekton, not "cheaper" trays that "causes problems". After me arguing in three more emails, he finally agreed to send a replacement socket. I have the emails and if The Bear wants to see them, I will send them. I was very surprised at their take on this as it was so contrary to what I have read about Tekton. But again, great price on great looking tools. I hope I do not have a future problem with them not if, but when one breaks, in a shop setting, it is bound to happen.
I switched from snapon sockets to tekton because of the price and warranty!! And an beginning to switch my other tools too! I wish they would make tool boxes!!

First time I heard of Tekton was in 2013 when I bought a wrench set from Amazon. Got the TEKTON 1938 MaxTorq Combination Wrench Set, Metric, 10 mm - 32 mm, 16-Piece for $56.41. the reason I bought it was I was working on the fan pulley and needed like the 32mm wrench. This set had it with all the other wrenches for an awesome price so thought it could hurt to give them a try. I was surprised at the quality of the tools for what I paid, they work really well. The set I have dose says MIT and Tekton on the canvas carrier
