- The new Triumph Daytona 660. Having had the opportunity to have this bike for a little while earlier in the year, I covered over 300 miles on it but fell in love with it in the first couple of miles. Incredibly smooth, deceptively quick and agile, but also capable of being a couple of hundred miles without the usual discomfort of a sports bike.

You can't beat the sound of a triple with the right exhaust music to my ears
Thanks Billy 😁 too right 😁
Looks, sound, build quality and all under £9k. Seems like a winner to me. Nice one TAYM.
Thanks Simon 😁
Good video Mr TAYM . Daytona is a good looking bike , not too radical or alien looking . It's a logical development of the 660 range and 95 hp makes it a performer . The only let down is the cheap looking " clock " or dash . It looks really out of place on a quality bike .
Triumph will sell lots of them .
And hopefully bring out a 660 adventure bike soon.🙏
Thanks DS 😁
I am not a motorcyclist but just love the aesthetics of some motorbikes. I had just been looking at a video of a Honda Super Cub 125 and it seems to be very sensible for an old chap like me. But then I watched your video here and it made me realise that "sensible" is not everything. The Triumphs are ALL appealing to me 🙂.
Thanks Roy 😁 very true, but the super cubs are wonderful too and many of us learnt all we know about being naughty on the old Honda cubs 😁😂😂
If you are not a motorcyclist ... then why not become a motorcyclist ???
It's never too late to become a motorcyclist ... Even if you are old, just start on a small 400cc bike like a Triumph Speed 400 ... then upgrade to a faster bike, once you have at least 20,000 km under the belt.
Nice review Sir! I picked mine up yesterday, finally! Yes, it’s all about that engine and its turbine smooth delivery, wonderful.
Thanks T 😁 you lucky boy 😁 very smooth 😁
Cracking vlog TAYM thank you. Also, because you often mention him, I just also watched my 1st ever Freddie Dobbs vlog on the Speed Twin 900 😳 He's a tad theatrical isn't he? 😂. Regards, Mo 😊👍
😂😂😂😂 he is 😁 but a very good occasional watch 😁 thanks Mo 😁
As an ole Kawasaki ZZR 1200 rider, I'd place myself in the second group of riders you mentioned, I don't need blistering speed as I near 60.
Great looking bike, thanks for the look Mr TAYM! 👍😁
I'm getting some quotes to see how badly it is gonna hurt to trade the 890 Adventure for a Yamaha T-7. Proof that blazing speed isn't my main concern these days, I've gone from 1250 1290, & 890 and now looking at 700cc for my main every day bike. Reliability and capability have crept to the top of my list .
Have a great weekend, it's pouring buckets here in Coastal Nor-Cal again.
Thanks PW 😁 I think it is a trend across the board 😁
Wonderful bike I'd love a Daytona but I'm not gonna get one..reason..I love the sound of that triple and I'd fang it, couldn't help it..I'd end up without a licence or in bits halfway up a tree. Thanks TAYM.
You can get many pipes for them but they one piece headers back so not cheap $1500-$3000nz depending on brand & they sound magnificent hear them over the Harley boy's with a pipe.
I thought about upgrading to a Daytona but my back won't agree with it & I do prefer look of modern classics. They do have self cancelling indicators setting & manual setting. With Quick Shifter they fly just hold throttle wide open & change gear🤣& blow past those Harley Boy's like I do😂🤣& mine is only a LAMS version.
Ausie & NZ 🇳🇿 getting both Versions LAMS & Full power which is $700 more. They should of done that with Trident 🔱 & Tiger 🐅 660 they'd sell alot more especially the Tiger 🐅 660 to touring crowd. You could get one Dain 🌲 tree I thought about it but my back don't like clip on's even though they're not aggressive clip on's my back need bar(fork) rises.I do prefer the look of a modern classic too.A bit heavier than Trident 🔱 too & you can't buy a Triumph Triple without getting Quick Shifter.Even my Trident 🔱 flies once moving & use Quick Shifter just hold throttle wide open and blow by the Harley boy's😂🤣.Only difference between LAMS Trident 🔱 & Full power version is 5Nm & 28hp but to 8750rpm only difference is that 5Nm & then LAMS version run out of puff as full version keeps going to 10750rpm & 212kmh as LAMS governed to 170kmh.You can de-restrict LAMS Trident 🔱 but need laptop & a $1000 & if sell bike swap back to LAMS & sell software to new owner as the Full power software is only specific to that particular VIN number on that bike so can't be used on a different Trident.
You can also send ECU away & they'll tune it so Road mode is Full power & wet mode is LAMS mode but to make it legal need to re-register as Full power bike so you not liable if sell it & new guy crashes. That's why the Software download is better as you can chop and change between modes when selling & rain mode is Full power rain 🌧️ mode & cover yourself legally & add $500 on top of cost of bike & new owner can change it himself.
The Daytona 660 has twin 4pot front brakes instead if 2 & other mods over Trident,Tiger 660.Should do 250km per 14L tank with 2L left in tank with mix of riding.
@@ruahinesrider ...mate I need something low tech and simple bit like me haha...now that 25 yr old 750 duc. just fits the bill.
@@daintree2455 The younger 696 be awesome too.Be known as The Duke of Dain 🌲 tree or Duke Dain🤣.That Dark Green Speedtwin 900 on TAYM'S 🦒 other video looked great & is 2024 colour scheme & got me looking half a dozen times🤣.
@@ruahinesrider Duke of Dain Tree...I like it haha
Another great middle weight bike👍👍. It is also a Mr Kipling's cake as Triumph make exceedingly good motorbikes.......😁😁
😂😂😂 absolutely 😁 thanks GBD 😁
What an excellent intermediate introduction to the road sports from Triumph and it just looks better than the Suzy 8R. The EU can stick their looney bike rules up their pipe, both lights on please! Triumph really are starting to provide a nice wide range of bikes, we just need a 125 now. Another quality item from the house of Taym, Excellent review Mr T it was simply marvellous. 😂
Yes, a 125 Triumph would be a right hoot 😁 scrambler version please 😁 thanks TT 😁
I had dismissed the Daytona 😐. But it does look great in white ! . Thanks TAYM 👍
Thanks D 😁
For a moment there, thought that your are there for the Burgman 😁😁
😂😂😂 thanks Stefan 😁
👌Nice bike TAYM reminds me of the R6 a bit from the front good size good performer and just the right amount of power I reckon always a good watch 👍
Thanks Crumb 😁 yes, I see exactly what you mean 😁 it feels pretty similar too 😁
Hi Mr. TAYM, I remember EBOR ice-cream. Great mutter. Lovely bike.
Thanks Glyn 😁 just looked it up, the company folded in 1998 after refusing a takeover package from Walls ice cream 😁
What a lovely bike. I wish I was 20 years younger.
😂😂😂 thanks BH 😁
Great Review. Makes me want to get one. Your roads are so dirty. If it was it was a bit wet the bike would be brown not white. Keep the new bikes coming.
Yes, that is a problem 😂😂😂 thanks Richard 😁
nice looking bike, nice sounding bike... deffo a naughty one😁
Thanks Ice 😁
Beautiful looking bike. If I had the spare cash it would be my second bike, although I'd probably be walking soon after 😆
😂😂😂 thanks Ian 😁
It's a pretty little thing for sure but, like you, I wish manufacturers wouldn't do the cyclops light thing. Do you think Triumph missed a trick by not including a quick shifter when it is standard on the Suzuki? I reckon if you had one of them TAYM you'd soon be in trouble with the Rozzers I could feel it pulling the naughty boy out in you.
I think you are right on all points 😁😂😂😂 thanks Mike 😁
Lovely triple and a good looking bike, the dash doesn't really go with the bike but other than that another great middleweight choice. I prefer the new cbr650r e clutch, better looking, great new TFT and the e clutch really is a fantastic innovation
Thanks Matt 😁 yes, another very smooth bike😁
BONUS TRAIN! Class 755 bi mode! ❤
😂😂😂
1st…….bugger ho well🤪 morning TAYM a nice little triumph and they do triple engine’s wonderfully however I’m about 15yrs past the sports bike genre😝 carry on that man Caio for now tat ta 👍🏻
😂😂😂😂 almost 😂😂 thanks HN 😁
Just bought one of these this weekend. The sound of the engine sounds really familiar now :) It's a very nice sound. I do think the seat on this bike is actually really comfortable, but it is actually the most aggressively postured bike I've ever ridden, coming from an MT-03 and then a CBR650F. Also Groms. My back ain't great so I don't think I could do 250 miles! One of the first things the sales guy showed me on the dash was that by default when they are new, the shift indicator is set to "running in" mode, and makes it flash at only 3000 RPM, which is pretty annoying. You can either turn that off completely or change it to whatever RPM you want. It took few a couple minutes of tinkering but I manage to change mine to 6000, which is I think the RPM I should more realistically try not to exceed on a regular basis. It feels like a really fast bike though. In sport mode just a bit of a half twist of wrist from like 2 or 3k is a huge push. It's kind of scary actually. I enjoyed the top end power band of my CBR and it wasn't exactly slow at lower RPMs, but the amount that is waiting to be used from a much lower RPM on the 660 is intimidating.
Thanks S 😁 fantastic bike and so smooth 😁 a very exciting ride 😁
Great looking bike, but where can I get the ice cream from?
😂😂😂😂😂 I wonder if they still make it🤔 thanks SN 😁
Plus... Dont know why, love the sound of rhis engine!!! ❤
Nothing beats the sound of a triple🤔 except a two stroke 😁
I am more a classic bike Guy, but I have to say I love it!
Maybe that's only because I rode around a mountain with ABD today on our SM 650's. It was a lovely ride but makes you wonder how this bike would feel...🤔😂
😂😂 thanks C 😁 so I’ve seen 😁
Wonderful review... Such a beautiful motorbike! I love it! Now here is the real question - if you remember, the ending of the relationship with my girlfriend resulted in me moving my down-payment on the Daytona 660 toward buying the Speed Triple RR. So.... Which would you choose? Did I choose poorly?? 🤔🧐🤣
The RR all day long 😁 but the price difference 😁 thanks Mark 😁
No doubt a great bike but I just think I would scare myself or end up in a ditch , think I might stick to my street twin ! Thanks TAYM
That is the danger 🤔😁😂😂👹
Morning Taym, just letting you know that bsb racing from oulton park is live 1pm-6pm on channel 39 today.😁
Thanks Bally 😁
You’ve mentioned the “Rozzers” on a few recent videos now. do you think they are after you 🏍😂😂 I think my days of even soft sports bikes are behind me now. I don’t think my back would stand up to it anymore but it does look the dogs do dahs
😂😂😂 quite possibly 😂😂 thanks AD 😁
Nice bike that is TAYM 😊 but don't you moan at me anymore about dissapearing in the distance 😜
😂😂😂😂 you think you know but the question is, do you 😂😂😂😂
Was talking about your speeding on it 😅😅 and I don't have a clue but looking forward to finding out.
@@bananaman20228 😂😂😂😂
Great looking bike, but I’d want a longer front mudguard to stop all the crud getting into the pipes and fairing. I’m no cleaning demon!
😂😂 thanks STR 😁 I don’t know why they seem to make them all so short 😁 annoying
You certainly do Need Both Headlights Yet another Car Almost pulls out on You
It's a Great Looking Bike The Game Boy Dash Looks Easy To Read
Would you Buy This Triumph 660 or The Suzuki GSX 8R?
I know, it’s crazy out here 😂😂 thanks JL 😁
@@TAYMso which one would you choose were you given the choice? I'm also interested to hear your thoughts (and reasoning offcourse). Thanks for the great review!!
@@chrissy.v thanks Chrissy 😁 all will be revealed real soon 😁😉
102nd😲 Shanks for tea.
😂😂😂
👌👍👍
Thanks Paul 😁
Ive ridden one and its a lovely bike, but in my opinion doesn't live up to the famous Daytona name. Triumph have been making bigger and bigger engined bikes and now seem to be focussing on models in the 400cc -660cc ranges. I think the new Daytona is aimed at the very lucrative "early naughty boy' market and why not? It would have been better in my opinion to have based a new Daytona on the wonderful Street Triple 765RS but I guess that would have hit sales numbers for what is also a very popular bike.
Thanks Nub 😁 yes, I agree, the 765RS or moto2 would have made a marvellous Daytona 😁
Where is that triple Triumph owner...cooking tea?
You guessed it,Shanks.
@@ruahinesrider figured it..back looking at bikes me found a sweet 750 monster hope it sells soon remove the temptation haha I really should buy a much newer 696.
Most likely 😂😂
