  • Hey guys! Today we install the Iron Rock Rock Link Long arm on my Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee. The install was not hard and can be done in your drive way with a jack and some stands! The part that took the longest was putting the Joints together. I RECOMMEND buying the Iron rock tool to remove the Upper control arm bushing. Took the old one out in seconds and installed the new one just as fast!

    I appreciate your videos being in a similar position. Ive had my WJ for about a year now, have basic mechanic knowledge and am just getting into some new parts for it. Your boy Chris deserves more appreciation tho! Seems like a chill dude. Lookin good to go with that lift and long arm set up!

    Nice, I just did the same kit on my 04. Note though. The Flex Joints CAN be tightened while the suspension is hanging, the instructions do say to tighten them before weight is put on them. You are correct in that a RUBBER bushing does HAVE to be at ride height before being torqued.

    • @NajarOffroad
      @NajarOffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That actually makes sense since it will just rotate😂

    Great looking set up. Better than others I’ve seen with a two pc front lower and top upper control arm set up. You have the straight 6 right ? I wonder if the front upper and lower is on 4.7 v8 ? I’ll look into it on my own. I do like going with longer springs no pucks for me, I need to weld in coil spring supports I’m in NY and rust sucks. Thanks for the videos helps out .

    Hey Najar,
    How much of an improvement was it? Did the WJ have body sway before you installed the long arm?
    Thanks

    • @NajarOffroad
      @NajarOffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I’m running no sway bars at the moment so when turning there is sway but it drives straight no issue since I changed out all the arms including the A-Arm that causes sway.

    i know this vid is 2 years old...that bracket connected to the frame you cut off is there anyway to repair that? i have a Wj and right where the lca mounts to that bracket connected to the frame (not the axle) it broke off and the lca came straight down. do you know of any way to get that repaired?

  • @phennig2003
    @phennig2003 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got a question. I know you had a bit of death wobble before. Did this cure it going from short to long? I am aware it could be worm or lose parts as well. I have been reading changing out lowers to either fixed or adjustables and not changing uppers could effect the ride.

  • @blainefitzgerald4206

    Do they have a 4 link? I will have to up grade like you did. I broke the factory bracket you cut off. To much flex and not enough arm lol

    • @NajarOffroad
      @NajarOffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have a 4 link rear. The reason they do a 3 link front is to get the maximum amount of axle articulation without binding

      I did IRO adjustables on the front. Actually my friend installed it. It was all super F'd up. Each arm was a different length and it would dip, bind, and jump all rere. I redid all that but I left the washers the way he had done it (one on each side). Months later I got under it and noticed the bushings looked super crooked. I emailed IRO. They said they don't ship instructions with my kit, but they do if I order the kit you got. So they emailed me the instructions and you're supposed to put all the washers on the outboard side so it moves the control arms inward away from the tire.
      2 stacked on 1 end (outboard)
      1 on the other end (also outboard)
      That WJ stance is on point. I'm doing a Comanche next.
