the guy who can tap/untap artifacts goes infinite with aim high, isochron sceptre and 2 gilded lotuses. (aim high was just the first card that popped up on gatherer) imprint aim high onto the sceptre, and get the other pieces in play. tap both lotuses for 6 Mana, pay 3 to untap 3 artifacts. while the ability is on the stack, use the sceptre to untap the creature. gives you infinite Mana and a creature with infinite power and toughness.
Oh, memories...I stopped playing shortly after Fifth Down and only started playing again when New Phyrexia came out. Nut that box was actually really disappointing, not even close to paying for itself (those start $220). I would certainly expect more than one Vial.
I would take all the modular cards, i have a modular deck but never opened up a lot of boosters from this set =(. Talon of Pain, Genisis Chamber, Darksteel Forge, Core Tapper(combos with Energy Chamber and many other cards), Myr Matrix, Shivering Rot, Pulse cards (under-rated), Heart Seeker(under-rated in a mana ramp deck),Shield of Kaldra are all very playable for my table top group, and cards i would use as well.
I remember my first box was a darksteel all I wanted was the Colossus I was so happy when I found it I also pulled in the same box memnark The Sword of Fire and Ice a sword of light and Shadow and 2 viles and all the indestructible armors in the mirror
Darksteel forge might be nine mana, but with how much artifact cost reduction there is and with some cards allow you to just put artifacts on the field chances are you wont be paying nine mana to put it out
you're wrong about a lot of these cards. Like Lich's tomb, if you can't remove it you just keep swinging. Eventually they'll just have to sacrifice it. It's not even that good. I'd rather have 1 permanent than 1 life.
Went to MTGCardMarket to use the promo code, and it doesn't help much. The 15% off would have been great, if the shipping wasn't $12. I would have ended up paying more for shipping than for my Sword of War and Peace that I was about to buy from them...

The color combination of your first deck is totally up to you! Out of the five different colors of mana, ten different two-color and three-color combinations, it can really take a while for a new player to find what color(s) suit them best. If you're new to the game and want to learn the basics of play and what each color is all about, I would suggest finding a buddy that plays, or taking a trip to your local gaming store. It's much better to learn from another person than, say, just reading the "How To" guide. If you happen to have a local gaming store in your area and want to get some experience, ask them about the free 30 card sample packs for Magic. Most store that sell Magic have a supply of these sample packs. They're a good way to start learning the game with friends, and they keep the power level of the decks within a reasonable margin. Another great way to learn the game is to pick up Duels of the Planewalkers 2014 for Steam, or any game console. The computer does a great job of teaching the game to you, and it won't ever get agitated if you have to take time and think about our next play. In short, the color choice is all up to you! Different colors for different personalities and play preferences. You will only be able to find out what you like to play by playing it!

huh. I have never seen that set symbol before. Though I only started playing when RTR came out i've seen a lot of set symbols
