Jewel orchids propagate themselves through pups or when the get long enough you can take a node cutting. Probably the easiest plant to propagate. At least the non-variegated ones are. Lovely plants Kaylee! Thanks for sharing!

I am seriously considering trading out my really tall Monstera D with my Raphorodora Tetrasperma just for the ease in moving it when needed. The leaves are just as appealing to me with the fenestrations and holes.. I LOVE the large plants too but at 73 it is just getting way to hard to physically manage them when it comes to washing and repotting as needed etc. Also so many of my more upgraded plants are getting larger and I would like room to keep all of them. And for me just growing the plants from small young plants into large beauties is the fun part of having plants.

Jeweled orchids are super easy to propagate. Just stick a node in damp moss and it will root. They are tough little plants. I found one behind one of my shelves last week. It hadn’t been watered in who knows how long. It had 3 huge bloom stalks and little pups popping out all around the orchid pot. Mine of course aren’t variegated but I would think they are all similar.

Hi! I'm not psychic and I don't have more info than you do but heres a recap of my understanding; Kaylee has been outspokenly against florida ghost mint, and has previously mentioned that she doubts the validity of monstera adansonii mint. I believe at the time she was talking about the indonesian varigated variety, whose varigation is extremely speckly and does resemble some viruses (this was awhile ago and its been since tested negative), and she never said that it wasn't real she just expressed her disinterest. Also Kaylee does sometimes buy things in to 'try them out' and I think this is one of those instances. I think, if she found that it was extremely unstable she probably would not sell cuttings for the full price that they go for (again, this is a guess since I can't tell the future).

We have monkey puzzle it’s going to reach great heights in your lifetime Kaylee. Mines reached 20 ft already over the last 20 years !!! The top could just be young growth as it’s lighter .being variegated will be slower I’m sure but should still put in a decent size 🥰. I would donate to Kew Gardens or Similar collection as you will know it’s in good hands 🙌 xx

Hello Kaylee! Believe your jewel orchid is either Anoectochilus roxburghii or Anoectochilus siamensis - Pink Gold. I couldn't tell if it has much pink on it or not. It will be easy to prop. The nodes can grow almost like runners and then pop up around the mother plant. Just take a node cutting and plant up in Sphag. or w/e media U are using for mother. Very easy to grow and bloom compared to regular Orchids.😁Your Ginger is stunning! The pink on the variegation doesn't disappoint. 💜Your mint Monstera is stunning!!!! Can see why you're sad about cutting it but know it's investment. Think the leaf size is perfect & much more manageable. Loved the Colocacia babies are 🤗 All your plants are amazing & don't disappoint. Hope you are feeling better from the Cove. Stay well.💜

Kaylee the sizes/forms of Monstera deliciosa are not binary. In the 1977 revision of the genus Madison shows significant diversity of individuals in the species. Large and small are probably the ones most commonly commercially cultivated, but a poor description of what actually exists in the species. It wouldn’t be surprising for a cross of these forms to result in individuals like this with some characteristics of each, or intermediate characteristics.
As you pointed out, a “large form” at this maturity and leaf size would have a ruffled geniculum and secondary fenestrations. Yet the leaves are very big for a small form, and again the ruffled geniculum is absent. It doesn’t fit what we expect for either form-because it probably isn’t.

This may be out of date just 2 years later with Monstera tacanaensis being accepted by at least some. Part of the evidence was it not producing intermediate forms when growing next to a large form deliciosa in a botanical garden

    • @davidc4162
      @davidc4162 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@englishmuffinpizzas Only just saw this. Can you explain the second part of your comment beginning with "not producing intermediate forms" ? Why would the plant its growing next to matter? Producing via seed? Can hardly rule something out that hasn't been directly pollinated. I've read about tacanaensis and find it very interesting, but nevertheless there is a LOT of variation within this 1 (or 2) species. Often what we see in cultivation is just a very small subset of what exists in the gene pool.

For the Monstera Mint- they’re actually not large form or small form! That’s why they are commonly called Monstera Mint NoID. I notice they have larger leaves than small form but deeper fenestrations - almost like a Brazilian Common or Sierrana - and no secondary fenestrations (at least for awhile).
They are truly the coolest plant. Idk if you’ve noticed, but their leaves are thicker and a deep, dark green (on the non-variegated portions). The mint is really stable and if you can get all-white leaves they really don’t brown easily. I have an all white Mint NoID and it hasn’t browned in almost three years ❤️

Most beautiful mint monstera I ever seen, I saw in London shop for 119 pounds 3 small leafs Thai mint monstera. Maybe I have to buy, if it’s gonna look like this

    Thanks for the awesome video!
I wonder if you could make a video on how to control and treat plants fungus infections.

You could always buy a bar stool that is adjustable and then pop the large plants on there and adjust the stool to be in frame.

The kaemferia i have likes a lot of water, it dies in winter ( like caladium) and when its spring next year and when it rains a lot ,it comes back to life.

Absolutely love this plant! But my big question... HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY???? I know they're crazy expensive (at least here in the usa.) You asked if we think it is worth the price but we don't know how much you paid! 😝

For the mint monstera, I’ve heard theories that it’s more of a medium/in between form because it crawls more like a large form vs climbing like small forms. That plus the internodal spacing is shorter than small forms, though I know that’s not the end all be all when it comes to large vs small form. That all said, I have one and don’t really care whether it’s small or large form, my favorite aspect is the deeper fenestrations and darker green color compared to my monstera aurea and regular monstera.

Thats definitely not a small form mint. at least in my opinion... all my small form deliciosas, and I've got many of them, have tons of double fenestration at this size. I think it's a large form that wants a little more light, hence bigger internodial spaces and double fenestration yet. I've once bought a Thai Constellation (which obviously is only available as large form) that had the same internodial space as your mint :) it was kept in low light.
But I've also heard that there might be another "form" of deliciosa somewhere between small and large form, which this could fit into.

amazing videos! really well explained, structured, developed and edited. as a new subscriber(!) i thought it could really give a kick to reintroduce snippets of flashbacks you mention, video/image - reference-wise. to tie the new and the former subscribers, or maybe just easy the new ones in!
thank you for making these videos and sharing your experience. good luck! xx
