kevozworld still prefer the a6300 better. but love the portability of the gopro, so i usually film with the gopro when i don't want the hassle of taking a big camera around
What did you have the go pro mounted on?
kevozworld it's in the case that came with the camera. otherwise, it wasn't mounted on anything

I love using my GoPro Hero5 Black to vlog! it is such a versatile, rugged camera that can withstand my busy lifestyle. The video is great and audio is great. I would recommend shooting in the linear mode so the trademark GoPro fisheye is not as prevalent. But I love the GoPro Hero5 Black as my main vlogging tool!

ROD ITZME it's might work best to shoot at low iso like 1200 and below and see how that turns out in post

Thx for this review, I'm picking up a 5 an i'm wondering if it it would be a decent replacement for my note 8 for vloging, i'm not 100% sure it's got what i'm looking for in that aspect, but it will still be a very handy camera to keep around and do action stuff with. Besides the video quality being solidly mediocre, it seemed like your audio was muffled. Were you using a case? Besides that, i'm still very excited to get my gopro 5, this video showed me exactly what i've been wanting to see.

Because the quality is awesome. When you were filming at the fire, the quality wasn't that good as the quality from 5:37. Can you explain me how the quality is achieved at 5:37? Hi, I have a few questions. I'm planning on starting a Vlogging channel and I want to buy a camera which would be best and most practical for it. A lot of vloggers use the cannon PowerShot G 7x, yet I'm also considering getting the GoPro Hero 5. I was wondering what u recommend me to do in my case, Go Pro or cannon Powershot G 7x. Thank youu
Hi Linda, I'd recommend getting the g7x because it's a more versatile camera overall. it will definitely have better audio quality as well. the gopro hero 5 is awesome, but wouldn't recommend it as a main camera for vlogging, especially if you'll be talking to the camera a lot. hope that helps!

Great real life vlogging test of the Hero 5. Thanks for posting! Side note, how much did you tweak the audio in post? It's not AMAZING, but it's far superior to any previous GoPro.
Thanks! The only thing i did to audio was adjust the levels so that they were loud enough.

hey mate, which do you think would be better? 1080p @ 60fps or 120? also is your auto stabilization on? lovely footage, keep it up!
60fps unless you're doing slow motion. 120fps will look too smooth if played at that frame rate
i usually shoot at 2.7k 60fps. but the 120fps 1080p is still pretty good in my opinion!

yeah it is! if you watch the next video i have the audio protune turned off. the audio quality sounded a lot less good to me.

rafaelunplugged unfortunately I've had to shoot my recent vlogs at night. you can see how the footage looks on mine. i keep the iso low then adjust it in premiere.. but I'm still learning

Hey! What settings would you advise to use on the hero5.
What settings are you using in this video? My main issue has been audio issues. Not sounding quite as good as I'd hoped.
AntAskew the audio isn't great unfortunately. I'd keep it on wind mode because it keeps out unwanted noise. I believe he shot at 2.7k, flat, 1600 iso. I've been shooting my vlogs at 1080, 24 fps, 1600 iso, flat
I got the hero 5 black. I feel like the audio isn't great. It picks up wind every time ibmove a little bit. Hopefully I can figure out a good setting
try setting the protune audio setting to "high." hope that helps!

hey josiah, i use premiere pro to edit and i set the playback resolution to 1/4 quality and the footage plays back smooth 👍
