Not bad for a beginner. Pretty good technique, and good job on playing in the zones. Get those rudiments down and practice a little more on not hitting the rim and you'll be pretty good.
Does anybody have the music? It's right here--I showed you. Write it out, it'd be a great lesson/exercise for you which will ultimately improve your reading!
Hold on I will be right back after I change my pants and get back from the hospital from that major heart attack. God damn I can't even cope with this lol.
Hey Bill, I'd love to see some more of these old school quad licks broken down. Have you ever thought of doing like a lick of the month type thing? I'm sure that all your subscribers and fellow quad players would love it.
Dear Bill, Can you post a video in which you use super light and bouncy sticks with your MONSTER chops to make the best solo on the planet? hope i'm not asking much, -Sebastian River High School tenor player
"Minus the rim. *chick* (Monotone voice) Seriously?" Hahahahaha I have no idea why that was so funny, but just the way he said it, and how good of a player he actually is and idk. Haha very nice, Mr. Bachman.
A HUGE request: do you think its possible for you to teach atleast a moderate tenor solo or something. Im very intetested in learning this but im not THIS kind of good knowing ive only played for about 2 years. If you could do so that would be amazing of you!:)
I don't know why, but I like these drums. I have a question, though: are the arm cross-overs functional or just for show? If I had a lot of money, i'd totally buy a set of these.
Mike D it's functional for what you're trying to play but it can be used for show. He used a those crossovers on the bottom two drums to play singles but the same thing could be accomplished regularly. It's just a tenor thing 🙂
"Seriously"
*rim apologizes*
Legend has it that the rim he hit, broke itself out of respect
When Bill Bachman says " it is hard " give up.
True statement
It blows my mind that there are human beings who can do this.
Much less 5 that did it in unison. Cleanly.
Not only is Matt Ryan a good quarterback for the Falcons but he a great tenor player. Talent!
Legend has it that to this day bill doesn't know what a rim is

Toaster Burns I think you have the wrong video. In no way is he a beginner
AmazingCheetos pretty sure hes joking
@@DouglasStevens0521 it's an inside joke, everyone here knows Bill is good. Just look at the comments section
@@jaydavidson4592 bro that was a year ago 😂

Those singles at the end were just glorious. I've never witnessed such a thing before.
that was freakin' sick!
GRANDE GRANDE BILL BACHMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU MAN FOR YOUR LESSON!!!
This should forever be titled "Minus the rim!"
Jay Privacy yeah it should
Does anybody have the music? It's right here--I showed you. Write it out, it'd be a great lesson/exercise for you which will ultimately improve your reading!
No thanks.
Do you have the music?😁
Hold on I will be right back after I change my pants and get back from the hospital from that major heart attack. God damn I can't even cope with this lol.
"It's pretty good, I guess." - Bill Bachman
"It was pretty good I guess" Bill Bachman - understatement of the decade
Yes indeed, the book in the background is indeed John Riley's "The Art of Bop Drumming!" It's a great book & John Riley is pretty much the deal.
omg yes i met him IRL
So much more sound when he uses the mallets at the end.
You said "difficult", I say "imposible". You are too good. Love you drumming
Hey Bill, I'd love to see some more of these old school quad licks broken down. Have you ever thought of doing like a lick of the month type thing? I'm sure that all your subscribers and fellow quad players would love it.
That ending was super dope
8:53 "It's pretty good, I guess."
Jesus man.
I've literally watched this 50 times how on earth do you play that fast
hey does anybody know what kind of head is used on the shot drum? i know Crown in 2013 used a similar one on their top spocks
theclash181 Remo smooth emperor white
The amount of times that I replayed this should be illegal.
That moment when your school only has ancient small block quads so playing anything quint related is a distant dream.
Tom Lutz Ive played many a scrape on baby quints. Focus your playing zones and youl have no problems.
flamingtatertot That would work if we had a spock in general but it doesn't even exist
I like how you said like "seriously" when you kept hitting that rim haha.
WOW!!!!! I will learn this for sure
I mean I competed in the 95 show and saw yall is what imeant to say!
the book in the background...is that John Riley's "art of bop drumming?"
"seriously"
when bill bachman hits a rim thats when you know this shit is on another level
Iconic
Holy sh*t also what are white pad in the back ?
Wasnt there a Cadets 95 breakdown at some point?-
I just made a transcription of this and I don’t know where to share it. give me some ideas on how to share it if you want it ;)

You hear all that rim he didn't hit?!

Bill, did you remember to put on some red Converse for the last take?
Dear Bill,
Can you post a video in which you use super light and bouncy sticks with your MONSTER chops to make the best solo on the planet?
hope i'm not asking much,

You should play some modern quad stuff for us. Do some transcriptions
Legend has it that even the best of all time has to hit a rim at some point
wanna email me the sheet music?
does anybody know what the cut of diddles for decades is for this break?
first two measures of it
insane
YES.
6:41 what is tempo lol
lol
lol
lol
lol
What's tempo?
I would definitely chose drums without rims playing this kind of stuff, but on the other hand, sometimes you need them.
I use those mallets for marching band this year! :D
hey bill would it be ok if me and a friend used this basic pattern in a show?
Wow!!!!!
i would really like to learn this but i have to learn the music for my own show so i just wanted to have it for whenever i have time to learn it
What drumsticks are you using in this clip
the cuts from clip to clip during playing are so funny
BAM!
Would you still happen to have the sheet music?
Just like I do it every morning! 😳
7:40 When he plays the whole thing (with feeling)
Hi Bill great video thanks for posting. Do you by any chance have this written out? Or, if not, could you write it out?
I'm a quad player myself and I'm trying to learn and play like that
"Minus the rim. *chick* (Monotone voice) Seriously?" Hahahahaha I have no idea why that was so funny, but just the way he said it, and how good of a player he actually is and idk. Haha very nice, Mr. Bachman.
Anyone else call it the "gok" drum?....man I'm old. Lol
Also, Benihana is hiring qualified people
N8palmDeath Yes sir we sure do, we call it the "gok" or"spok" drum, either one.
My school calls it the gac
A HUGE request: do you think its possible for you to teach atleast a moderate tenor solo or something. Im very intetested in learning this but im not THIS kind of good knowing ive only played for about 2 years. If you could do so that would be amazing of you!:)
does anybody have the music for this
What's the secret to making these rudiments so fast? Every time I go to perform the double strokes my muscles intend.
I will tell you the ancient secret, are you ready? Start by doing it slowly, and PRACTICE
Also, marching sticks. The heavier sticks work out your fingers.
Remember I said “work out”. You still have to practice
Those candy apples are a pain to play. The tenor tech in my corps was a little old school and always tried to put that in.
Wow Nice
So Bill, why do you use pinstripes for every drum, except for spock?
He's okay
I don't know why, but I like these drums. I have a question, though: are the arm cross-overs functional or just for show?
If I had a lot of money, i'd totally buy a set of these.

Mostly for show unless it is 100% necessary
Dude! You should transcribe this! I can't keep up with this on video, but if I get a skeleton chart, I could be happy XD
who was writing at UNT in 96? rennick?
When played up to speed I think I caught about 10 flies in my mouth 😂😂
Music? Please?
COLLAR! POINT! BAM!
3:44 "ooooo" haha whats that about??
"It's incredibly hard..."
WELL SHIT
What just happened?
wtf dude how do you play that with NO RIMS?!
what is this sorcery?
OH MY GOD, THE TENOR GODS RESPONDED TO MY WISHES.
why are you using magnums?
0:55 that drum-rim should be proud to be the only rim that Bachman has ever hit.
8:16
Turtlation I'm quitting quads
oh my god.
