The Debt Repayment Cinema, Credits, and Goal Completion Cinema are all unlocked as soon as you collect the 10,000 pokos needed to pay off Hokotate Freight's debt. The Treasure Completion Cinema is unlocked after collecting all 201 treasures in the game. Louie's Dark Secret is unlocked by completing all 30 of the game's Challenge Mode levels without losing any Pikmin. You just have to complete the level, you do not need to pick up all treasure or defeat all enemies. Challenge mode is unlocked by collecting The Key treasure from the Citadel of Spiders cave in the Perplexing Pool in the main story mode.
Pikmin 2 is a fantastic game and the Switch port is excellent. I hope that it encourages many new people to give the series a try! - เกม

Maybe it's just nostalgia but there's something so perfect about the opening cutscene with the music used, the pacing, the way the characters are voiced, the simple to understand plot that has more going on beneath the surface. It's just so good.
@@istealpopularnamesforlikes3340 Might not be distinguishable words a lot of the time but they still have a voice lol. Its funny but still conveys emotion where necessary.

Honestly? Not a fan. I get why ppl like it and all but it abandoned what made pikmin 1's cutscenes so great and traded it for "Aren't we just so GOOFY?!!?! 🤪" and I guess it's just not my thing
@@Jay_Jay_Guy Interesting to see different opinions, for me I can't even remember Pikmin 1 cutscenes and I just played it. Getting hit by the meteor and the pikmin Waving/the bad ending are the only parts I remember clearly. I like both I just think Pikmin 2 improves on the formula. Playing 3 again so will see where that lies.
I like the part where they fly around the asteroid that hit Olimar in the first game.
You’ve gotta love how this entire games plot could have been avoided if Louie didn’t eat the golden carrot
And then again, we wouldn't have discovered the purple or white pikmin.
I always wondered how they did the credits cutscene with louie, but seeing the raw HD footage it looks like they just filmed scenes outdoors and then composited louie into it. Neat to see, thanks so much for uploading these!
It’s stock footage with Louie plastered on top. It’s truly amazing, a complete masterpiece of technology.
4:30 - 4:40 is so nostalgic to me. The fact the music cuts is so perfect and you actually don’t notice anything abnormal until Olimar notices that Louie is not there so the surprise is a very good in this scene.

Looking at them side by side, especially the final moments of the credits with Louie looking at the camera, they really did a good job overhauling these cutscenes, they’re just how I remember them considering I replayed the GameCube version a week before playing the Switch version and the ones on Switch look like how I remember the GC ones but side by side the GC ones look really grainy and muddy
I love how over exaggerated the expressions of everyone are in the cutscenes
I love the early 2000’s sci-fi aesthetic so much, so these cutscenes are super nostalgic and reminiscent of that. I love it so much!!
I love the treasure completion scene. It gives me sadness that oilmar is leaving the pikmin alone for 10 years.

This whole video had me in complete bliss.. I remember how much I was obsessed with Pikmin 2.. Seeing everyone obsessed with it now like I was, making memes, art, videos.. And now being able to see the near dream-like cutscenes in HD???? On Switch???? It's crazy..
Did anyone else think that Louie’s dark secret was funny but a real dark secret at the same time?

@@Ydrakarmost likely it just wasn't paying attention, the ship is shown to have a mind of it own...a rather arrogant ,self indulgent and one track mind....probably was to busy mouthing off about space traffic to realize what happened.

he got his boss into MASSIVE debt dude really deserved getting stuck on earth
And then he deliberately stayed behind, eating the various animals to survive. Until he encounters the Titan Dweevil. Since the thing likes metal, Louie gathers weapons and juryriged them to his power supply on his back. This allowed the Titan to use them against you. Louie literally tried to kill you to avoid the secret being spilled.

I always liked the treasure completion scene the most. The Pikmin send out a light show like an aurora on the land to show their friendship to Olimar.
I was really surprised to see that they re-rendered the cutscenes for the remaster in higher-res. So many other devs would just reuse the old, compressed cutscenes instead.
Which is not entirely their fault, its rare that studios would keep game assets around years after development finished to be able to do that sort of thing, especially for this era and earlier. The fact that they even still had them at all for Pikmin of all things amazes me.
Woah, is that how they did that? They just had the original project files for Pikmin 2's pre-rendered cutscenes lying around? I mean, I guess they did hold onto Luigi's unused Super Mario 64 model for two decades along with many, many more stuff so maybe it's not that surprising.
@Tokuto-kun They might've just originally rendered the scenes in HD, and kept those. I find it hard to believe they've kept the animation data for Pikmin and not Super Mario Sunshine.
My mind might be playing tricks on me, but I think they actually might have just straight up redone the cutscene for Louie exploring PNF-404 by himself. All the other cutscenes look pretty much like they did on the Gamecube, just now uncompressed/in hd, while Louie's model in the fake credits cutscene genuinely looks way more high quality then anything in any of the other cutscenes, especially how the reflection in his helmet. If I'm correct, I wonder if why they did that had something to do with the hybrid nature of the og cutscene.
I looks so much better than on the Wii and GameCube, it’s like the cutscenes were made for HD
Tbh I really wish we got to see more of the non-Pikmin planets in the games, Planet Hokotate in particular looks and sounds like a very interesting place

From just this scene, Louie is trouble before we even learn of his dark secret.

Now, I haven't played... MUCH, of the Pikmin games. (Cuz my child brain is too dumb to understand the concept of in-game times when Pikmin 3 came by, btw Happy 10th Anniversary Pikmin 3, Japan release date anyway) but I can safely say.. the cutscenes are as smooth as a baby's bum (Please don't think of that as something, guys...) and would consider going back to the series to actually play it and see how well I do now!

I still never unlocked the Louie’s Dark Secret cutscene I finished the whole game but I just never got that cutscene
You have to finish all the levels in Challenge Mode without losing any Pikmin to unlock it.

it's really a shame it's only AI upscaled. I was hoping to see the original cutscene playing without compression, but hey this is better than nothing. I just think it looks kinda smeary and ugly, the background especially. the credits FMV looks 100x better though. i think they partially remade it or something it looks wayy better
Is it ai generated? I've seen people say both it's re-rendered but also saying it's ai generated, neither having sources.

Sure its looks slightly polished but not on the levels of pikmin 3 or 4. So not worth buying plus there are no branded treasures in this one
