    Are they aggressive when cleaning the tank? Is hand biting an issue? You said their teeth are in their gills, so I'm guessing it's not a big deal.

    I have 2 oscars and 8 silver dollars in a bare bottom 150 gal 5x2x2, with overkill filtration........I would never keep a single oscar in anything less than 120 gal 4x2x2.......they say 75 gal min for 1 oscar, some say 50 gal min, but im experienced enough in keeping these fish, and they get huge. A 14 inch fish needs adequate space.....you wouldnt buy a dog and lock it in a small room for its life, but people thinks its ok to do it to fish....sad

    • @aesthetically_bound
      @aesthetically_bound 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@studo9217 Most freshwater fish do not eat other fish and most thrive on the environment around them. That said, many carnivorous fish actually eat insects and do not solely rely on other fish. Wild fish are also very different than the cheap, neglected goldfish at pet stores. It is dangerous for the Oscar to feed on live fish as well as contribute to aggression issues. Overall it is a shit practice and not in the best interest of the Oscar.
