    Kicking keeps you at a safer distance. Once you land a. Couple of powerful kicks , close in and use hand techniques. If your balance is poor and your kicks can be grabbed, you lack sufficient skills to kick

    This is so different than what I learned boxing and just plain street fighting... I like this guys ground work but after the slap hit me I'd be throwing the right hook to the body (since both his hands are to my left side) throwing this whole rythm off ... Just my experience

    • @waynesimpson2074
      @waynesimpson2074 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, its a flurry, the training partner clearly withholds his right hand to assist in the demo of the combo, that's understandable but... Street is messy and dynamic, he may/should get that right off before the slap comes in after the initial block.? If we're including beers in the equation 😆then the likelihood in the 'hood'😄 is that its going down the Judo/BJJ/Grappling route? Discuss.

      @@waynesimpson2074 lol yes almost all fights go to the ground! Especially when you start hitting them with two and three pieces! It took me a long time to learn how to wrestle I relied on my hands because I was real good with my timing speed and accuracy and I either had to knock them out or keep them standing with me because once I got on the ground I was useless for a long time! Lol ... I eventually learned just out of necessity by the time I was 16 or so but I hated it and didn't like having to roll around like that
      ... And yes I'd have followed up ANY shot with another! Before the slap hit me the right would have been coming... I never threw just one punch

    I call BS!
    You are twice you opponent's size. Besides your weight and strength giving you easy stability, you have longer reach. For the smaller defender (bullies seldom pick on someone their own size) a quick snap kick of the toe to the knee will destabilize the bully and hitting someone off balance is easy, the same goes for throwing them. An elbow to the head will finish the job.

      You don't have to kick that hard, just a tap will do. Perhaps 40 years of Judo, Aikido, Tai-Chi, Hsing-I, Pa-Kua, and Praying Mantis lessons have made things a little easier for me. I have had some exciting adventures here in the SF Bay Area. I hate bullies.

    honestly i dont understand what is this guy trying to say with these scripted situations. any bullshido master can do this slomo bullshit against a guy that is not using any defense and counterattack . in real street fight you will have to face adversity and adjust to different situation. Even the first punch of the small guy was amateur af and after that he just freezed and did nothing. Give him some better opponent to see whether he can actually do something.

    • @thejohnrahm
      @thejohnrahm ปีที่แล้ว

      the first punch had better form than that of most untrained "street fighters" IMO. the issue with these videos is that people are led to believe that the dude will allow you to follow up with your counterattack, committing to that one punch thrown at the start. in reality, this block (which is very hard to do and fails horribly against different punches) would not phase the attacker. he would (probably) just keep hooking with his fists (untrained people know to use a closed fist, generally). trying to block (let's assume it works) + slapping the dude (as shown in the video) will get you knocked out cold when the attacker smashes your face in with his right hook + left hook + right hook (defender falls to the ground) + left hook + right hook... you get the idea. I would only use a palm strike if I am confident that my opponent is not a significant threat. just my take
