I own an Acura 2015 T.L.X four door six cylinder...I bought it used in early September of this year...So far I am really satisfied...It is fast, smooth, has impressive safety features and is fun to drive...The audio is solid too .............................................................................................
It's my pleasure Tom. I love what you do and I'm a happy supporter. You're definitely one of my favorite Journalists by far and I watch every video you post.
At this point I have spent multiple hours watching as many of your reviews as possible. Easily some of the best on the Internet, keep it up. Very fair and objective.
I recently purchased a used car at a Acura dealership and really liked the service. I considered an Acura purchase after my experience there, but one thing I did not like about the new Acura's was the paint jobs! Surprisingly enough you can even see an example of the horrible paint job with the orange peel shown at 1:37
Car is already good.... But If you want to flair it up, the Advance Package with factory Aero Spoiler Kit & Remote start dramatically makes it look more exciting...!
I'm really surprised at how unexceptional this new model is. There just isn't any aspect that stands out. SH-AWD is not clicking with US drivers, styling is nice but safe, and interior is missing many features commonly found in Hyundais these days. Same could be said of ILX also. If there's a rabbit in their hat, now would be the time for Acura to pull it out.
I feel like the Japanese luxury automakers seem to be acting a bit confused lately. Lexus have that weird joystick interface, Infiniti named everything Q for no particular reason, and Acura seems to be struggling with its own identity. Hence this car has two screens, and thought competent, it seems to struggle to be something outside of a lux-trimmed honda. It's not bad, just kinda faceless. It's a shame, because I want these brands to be great again. Infiniti G35, Lexus LS and Acute TL were great cars, and once lexus game germany a genuine challenge. It's time they showed they were exceptional again.
Acura fell short on many aspects of this car. Styling is boring, no rear exhaust tips, no heated rear seats, awful navi screens. They really need new designers and engineers.
In Canada, Tech and Elite trims do have heated rear seats. We just test drove one a few months ago, and the only way this car makes sense for us is fully loaded as a SH-AWD model, with the ventilated front seats, ACC and CMBS etc. Still very happy with our 2007 TL Type S, which is FWD, though.
I know this is kind of late, but can you please review the Acura RLX Sport Hybrid. Please, I need to know your opinion. A lot of receivers seemed biased, and I don't get from you.
I don't understand those people that don't test drive their cars comparatively. I'd say test drive 5-7 cars to be honest and that's only after you've decided on new vs used/CPO. If you're looking at new and used cars, you might want to test drive at least 8-9 cars then and spread them out so that you have some time to gather your thoughts.
I'll tell you what I tell everyone- Buy the car you love. That's the one that's better for you. And really, only you can figure that out, not some guy like me that doesn't know you.
If only the ILX was an adequate replacement for either the TSX or Integra, and the TLX wasn't a combination of the bad from the two cars it replaces. As good as this car is, there's no compelling reason to buy it over an accord ex-l, or any Acura over its Honda counterpart for that matter. That being said a TLX V6 manual coupe with SH-awd would be nice. But will that happen, no.
The first to second shift in this car is SUPER HARSH! And the engine shut off takes a hair too long to come back on and move when you come up off the brake. Paddle shift response is slow.
Acura has a lot to learn about how to paint cars. Before you buy, take a good look at the paint in the shade and away from the sun. Paint spray marks and blotchy areas are very apparent on the top surfaces. They say this is normal and their CEO is in on it to. Buy the Audi!
so take a Honda instead or if premium is the crave, take the E Class. Japanese luxury? Pass. Not even the Japanese don't buy this. Not even sure Acura and Infintiy are launched in Japan.
Acura should stop fooling the car industry and change it's name back to Honda. It is not a luxury level brand. In Japan, the RLX is the Honda Legend. C'mon guys, stop trying to front.
The legend is a luxury Vehicle even to Japan. Honda has 3 different levels of dealerships that sell different model Hondas. check this out..in 95 the legend came with motorized rear reclining seats.projectlegend.blogspot.com/2009/02/reclining-rear-seats-proper-blog-entry.html yes I like Hondas : )

Thanks metal571! Tell your friends!
Best reviews on TH-cam I don't remember how many times I have watched this review now but it never gets old. Keep up the great work Tom!

Only the AWD V6 has the buying attraction and would still need about 3-4k off retail to really start getting heads turned.

really who is innovating in this car segment? BMWs have looked the same for the past 10 years
S Saini 40k acuras are suppose to look like Ferrari's and go like a P1. If not it is shit.
MrLalasd a 40k acura is the problem to begin with

The Legend was a gorgeous car as the 929!

Another FAIL by my beloved Acura! Someone should get fired for this 45 thousand dollar attempt at a luxury sports sedan
As long as you do not fire yourself from writing comments, there is no need for such a thing.
Wow, no gauge sweep in a sporty car? My Pontiac Torrent does a gauge sweep lol
whatever happened to evil twin?
Too tough to work with. When he started demanding only red peanut M&M's on shoots I dumped him.
ha!
Why over critical when it comes to Japanese cars?
Fussinated Because they suck.
chamade166
They don't suck that is why the question
Voice commands for climate control is a highlight for my 2016. Even the gps address voice recognition is superior.
Great Tom! Thank you
They should’ve put the 3.7 in a Type S version
What's better this TLX AWD or IS350 AWD? Really torn at this point.
I'll tell you what I tell everyone- Buy the car you love. That's the one that's better for you. And really, only you can figure that out, not some guy like me that doesn't know you.
Dual-clutch transmission with torque converter..? That literally makes no sense
Acura needs to bring back some turbos, they used to have one in the RDX. Until then, they will remain underwhelming.

I wanna TLX sports wagon will be released:-D

Good points mades
I think the Accord 6 Clynd. with full option "Sport" much Better than Acura, & also the price...
I would rather have a Accord V6 with the pipes showing.
Glad I snagged the last model year TL before they switched to this. The TL had a 'love me or hate me' vibe. The TLX is just...meh.
ACURA, SORPRENDENTEMENTE INTELIGENTE...
Impressive Review by my fave Mr. Voelk about a not so impressive car.

yes I like Hondas : )
oldschool1 Agreed...just name them all Hondas, that's what they are. Plain old boring Hondas.
Nice rental-grade Accord.
Still uglier than the new V6 Accord.
this car is boring. like all acura cars. if it werent for the mdx acura would be dead. and their stylists are the worst in the industry
TLX is copy and paste of older TL model, with back of TSX. It's really ugly and too many other competitors that offer way more for less.
