Thanks for this review. I’m very curious about this mri and if it would be the right one for evaluating the current status of cervical spondylothesis and what may be causing pain in both hips. You have me wondering now. Thanks! And so glad your results left you happy!
My husband had one done through Prenuvo and they told him he had BPH with a P-Rads score of 4, and they said “that is the second highest rating..this indicates a clinically significant cancer is likely to be present..” and they told him to see a urologist urgently. He had a PSA just a few months before and it was low normal. They also said he had diverticulosis. He saw the urologist and he doubted he had cancer but he ordered a prostate specific MRI. The MRI was completely normal and he didn’t even have BPH. He also had a colonoscopy last year, which did not show diverticulosis. I was going to get one done but after what we went through absolutely not. A lot of worry, time and more money spent- all over nothing.
I'm planning on getting a prenuvo scan because I want to check my body for possible cancer in my organs and find out what is causing my stomach, shoulder, lower back, neck, throat, legs and knees to hurt.
Absolutely not - I'm pathologically claustrophobic 😱. I have shoulder problems from a riding accident that I can't get resolved because I can't get into an MRI. This gave me anxiety just seeing the scanner! I'm very happy that it worked out for you. It's a great diagnostic tool, but not for me! 😕
Wouldn’t be possible for this whole body scan, but have you tried an open MRI just for your shoulders? I’ve had several of those and they’re quite tolerable.
@@kirstynr45 I've tried for years to get an open MRI, but my insurance always denied it. My doctor went to bat for me and tried for an exception, but it was still declined😡
@@marthawood3367 Wow, insurance people suck! My dad is also extremely claustrophobic. He has to have an anesthesiologist come and put him to sleep in order to get an MRI. He’s tried the relaxation meds, but they didn’t work for him either. Maybe you could try to lobby for that? Tell them the relaxation meds don’t work for you and you’d like to be put to sleep for your scan. Doesn’t hurt to ask. I personally have a hard time with claustrophobia as well, but at my last closed scan, I made up songs in my head to the best of the machine, which helped me feel like I wasn’t going to be buried alive 😅. I hope you can get your scan done soon!! Living with pain isn’t fun.
Wait, they gave you a free scan in exchange for you to plug them on social media? Isn’t that illegal? It’s unethical for sure. You’re a doctor you should know this. You can’t remommend something based on financial incentives, especially as a physician.
I clearly disclosed that the scan was free and indicated that on the video settings. I discussed the risks of obtaining a scan. Nothing illegal about that. If I had hid the fact that I did not pay for the scan that would be illegal.
Glad you discussed the risks. You know who doesn’t discuss them? Prenuvo. I suppose it’s legal but it still smacks of paid referrals to me. How many doctors out there do you see promoting them? Hardly any. Kinda telling.
Would you get the MRI?
@@drdustinportela nope! See my comment above.

Thanks for telling your story. People need to hear this to realize what a scam Prenuvo is!
Start Keto/Carnivore diet to help with your osteoarthritis. Yes, I would like to ge the MRI.
Was this scan with our without contrast

Just know even if your scan is negative doesn’t mean you don’t or won’t eventually develop cancer.

When necessary they can offer an anxiolytic medication before your scan. Not sure if that would be helpful?

@@drdustinportela I did try that once, but I think I was so anxiety ridden that the meds really didn't work. Maybe an induced coma? 🤔
