- Welcoming back to the channel guys. Today I’m giving the Typhon Grom a much needed upgrade. I’m putting a Goolrc 3800 brushless motor and Hobbywing esc into it. This combination is the best thing since sliced bread to me😂😂. I hope you guts enjoy the video and don’t forget to like and subscribe. Enjoy your days guys #rccar #rcvlog #arrma #rchobbies
love your channel dude!!
Thanks bro. I appreciate it
You made the right choice! The budget motors are usually just fine in smaller RCs, but for the ESC, i always go Hobbywing, because some of those budget ESCs have a throttle delay, or cogging.
@@Boogie_the_cat yeah I’ve noticed that with most of my budget motors. I’ve started to not use them as much in most builds
Another great run Mr. C. Keep on rolling. Great bargains. On parts.
Preciate that playboy
Nice video brother! Love your energy! Subbed to ya! Can’t wait to see what you bring to our rc community!🤜🤛
Thanks bro. I really appreciate it
Great combo! I love the hobbywing 16bl30
It’s a nice esc and it doesn’t cost much I will definitely buy another
Definitely! Great price!
Those tires look great on the grom and that was an awesome deal on the brushless setup!!
Dude I’m definitely using that combo again
@@Rc-Krazy is the motor always $10?
@@BargainBashersRc it normally runs about $20. It’s on Amazon right now for $18 with 20% off
@@Rc-Krazy thanks, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for deals. I’m tossing around the idea of converting my sons Remo hobby to brushless at somepoint but idk what motor/esc combo to go with yet
@@BargainBashersRc what scale is it. If it’s a 1/16 scale then the combo I’m using is excellent. I’m thinking about getting a granite grom to put another one in
Nice Work my guy 😊
Thanks bro. 💪🏾💪🏾
I'm wishing arrma will release a brushless version so we don't need to upgrade!
@@itsjase92 maybe one day the will lol
I heard yesterday in my hobby shop that there is going to be one, in a bout a month from now., supposedly.
@@jf8138 seriously. That’s cool. Now just give us a mini Felony lol
Nice I haven’t got that one yet but my Granite Grom is brushless and man hold up.. str8 smiles for miles brother good job Los 😎💪🏽💯
Thanks bro. I was thinking about getting the granite grom when this was announced. I’ll still get it at some point and make it brushless
@@Rc-Krazy yes sir my brother walks in and he see me working on them even one’s that come in that day and he say damn!! You buy them to break them? I say naw fam I just alter them boys to look and run the way I want 😎 and who wants to be like errry one else 😅 plus they made to be upgraded or b down graded depending on your preference ya feel 💯
Facts. I don’t like for most of my cars to look like what they actually are. That’s why I did the granite body different, the vendetta body different and the slash body different. That’s my pleasure homie
Can you please let us know if you end up having to replace/upgrade the diffs and the driveshafts. I have heard with the extra power the gears go and the plastic collars break, I am doing a similar upgrade motor wise.
I haven’t had to replace anything yet. I’ve only ran it once on 3s but plan on doing a speed run very soon
What are the dimensions on the tires compared to stock? Thinking about buying a set. But I just want to know exactly how much bigger.
They weren’t that much bigger. I think they were a perfect fit.
Did you have any trouble finding a pinon? I guess it's a mod 0.5 but the shaft size of the stock motor is not very common so with a standard 1/8 shaft the stock gear wont work. I hated to spend $10 for a pinion but that's about all I could find. The tires sure worked out well. Great job.
I didn’t have a problem with that. Luckily I had I spare pinion and it fit perfectly. Only hard part was getting everything to fit lol
@@Rc-Krazy I am having a problem with finding a pinion gear, I have ended up ordering a different motor with the smaller bore and hopefully it will fit with the original pinion. If anything else, i have learned a ton about gears and what the numbers mean...lol great looking build man. cheers
You should of got the arrma vortek instead of the rustler
Great video! How’s the diffs in the car? Are they durable?
Oh yes bro. It handles 3s like a champ
@@Rc-Krazy ah, having a hard time deciding between this and the mjx 14210. Do you know anything about the diffs in the mjx?
@@t3floz sorry bro I don’t have one of those.
@@t3flozthe diffs in the MJX are strong, at least the 14th scale MJX.
I returned my MJX because it was too squirrelly. Not a wide enough track (distance between the two front tires) and a bit of steering and tire slop (looseness).
I don't know how much this helps 4 months later, but check out Derby City RC channel if you DID buy the mix because he shows you how to fit longer A-arms for much better stability, and which arms and driveshafts to buy.
Me, I bought the Arrma, and I'm glad I did. MJX didn't really give me warranty support when chassis screws fell out on the first run and got lost.
Arrma sent me a new servo when mine broke, and that's a 2 year warranty you get with Arrma.
If you got the MJX, you can use wheel hex extenders, but they aren't the best fix for stability. And ya gotta drill out the wheel hole for the larger hex nut and use thread locker on the wheel hex nuts EVERY TIME otherwise ya wheels will fall off.
Where do u get the tites from
I took them off my WLTOYS buggy
