    You should start posting links to the parts you add to these trucks, that way those of us that want to do these upgrades can easily source them. Other than that, good video! These trucks are a TON of fun. Bought one for my 6 year old (yes he is young, but I got into hobby grade RC trucks at 8 with a TMAXX 3.3), and being my first ARMA product, I am definitely impressed.

    • @DoRC

      Glad you enjoyed. I don't do links for two reasons for the first one is that I don't want to have to keep up with the links cuz they're always changing and the second and more important one is that I don't want people to think I'm trying to profit off these videos because that's not the purpose of the channel.

      Yeah for sure. I was definitely running it on rougher surfaces than it needed to be but I feel like it's a little bit different than the slash. • @EngineeringUSA
      @EngineeringUSA 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Not true. I've had my granite grom for over a week now and have put probably 20 packs of the factor 2s through it and zero issues with the differentials. And I've abused the hell out of it; hard jumps, hard acceleration, driving through thick brush, getting sticks stuck in the drive train to lock up the diff, etc, and it's still going strong on stock diffs. I will however upgrade to all metal when the local hobby shop gets them in stock as I plan to go full brushless setup.

    I added a 16BL30 and 2435 Sl G3 6500KV motor to my grom and it's insane. It goes 45+ and can go even faster if I increase the timing and that's on 2s. It takes up no additional space and the only thing required for it is a 2mm shaft 18t losi pinion mod 0.5. Although id recommend getting a smaller pinion for more usable torque. I also cut the servo mounts off the stock 2 in 1 esc with a knife (yes I did that even though its sounds dumb) but it worked and allowed me to tuck the esc in nicely.

    whats the run time like on the 3s? both mine got the 93 diffs about a week into ownership, then blew out the cvs after that. then i tossed in the 380 brushed motor but even with the printed fan relocate its still getting beyond hot. If runtime goes up and the temps go down im gonna have to cave and go brushless. haha

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Run time is one of those things that's kind of impossible to predict for someone else. There's quite a bit of room in that battery tray so you can fit a pretty big battery but it's also going to depend greatly on your driving style. If you're just puttering around hanging out with friends you could get twice as much runtime as if you're blasting up and down the street or running through thick grass.

    • @mtnbike4522
      @mtnbike4522 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DoRC Thats a fair point. Run time is what it is i suppose. So i guess im looking for ways to not make it run so hot. If brushless does that im on board.
      One thing that has been interesting to me is that on the thermal the back senter of the body cover is what gets the hottest. thinking heat must be coming from the rear end or something.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @mtnbike4522 absolutely. Brushless is far superior to brushed as far as heat generation is concerned. It is way more efficient. That being said it's also generally more powerful so you can run into a situation where you make up more efficient system that has more power going through it and ended up generating a bunch of heat. Ultimately though a decently specked brushless system is going to run cool in a car this small

      I had most of these on hand but unfortunately horizon seems to be out of most of these parts a lot of the time. They do seem to come in stock from time to time and sometimes they have them listed on eBay as well.

    Why did you have to take cover off esc ?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It was hitting the body. You could probably get away with out doing so but the body sitting right on top of the cover blocks air flow. I think as long as you secure the harness it shouldn't be a problem but no guarantees.

    Hey friend! Can you please start adding links to all the parts you use in your videos? I really like your videos and want to upgrade my RCs the same way you show in the videos. Huge fan! You really should have more subscribers. Your videos are fun, helpful and entertaining. I recently purchased the Traxxas Slege, the newest one, and I've seen SO many videos being all OVER the place on upgrade parts. I'd really like to see a full on basher upgrade video for the sledge. Would you be interested in making a video on that?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do have a full upgrade video on the sledge though it does have some things in it that aren't really necessary. I don't provide links for two reasons. The first one is that links are always going stale and it becomes a night where to manage them and the second one is that I don't want people to think I'm trying to sell them anything because I'm not.

      I don't post links for two reasons for the first one is that it becomes a logistical nightmare keeping up with a bunch of broken links cuz they're always changing. Second and more importantly I don't want people to think I'm trying to make money off of any of this because I'm not.

    The sand us brutal. I live in long beach and the sand is so fine from so much traffic that it gets into everything. The clean up after means you've gotta strip it down fully. I stopped after the second sand run. Too much work in the end. Dirt and gravel are much easier to deal with. The sand is a lot of fun though dammit. 😂
