A great way for new players to learn the game (card art on screen) and more advanced players to just watch. Great commentary and I look forward to every video.
Question for those in the scene. Do players submit multiple decks? How many options to players have to use in a matchup? And I assume the deck choice is done without confirmation of the competitors deck.

As for the decks, players have to submit one deck list before the tournament starts. That specific deck must be used without any changes for the entirety of the tournament. Deck choices are made well before knowing what all of your opponents will be playing. Hope that helps!

1 SpecForce Soldier
1 Admiral Ackbar, Brilliant Strategist

2 Bright Hope, The Last Transport
2 Zeb Orrelios, Headstrong Warrior
I have never played a TCG with a sideboard. What cards are for what match ups and what cards are normally removed from the main deck for them?
Hello and welcome to the channel!
I am not sure which cards are being brought out in each situation, but I can give some insight on the sideboard cards and where they will likely come in.
SpecForce will be great against control decks with lots of sentinel options such as Childsen. Fang Fighter can also be helpful against control decks running Entrenched and decks playing Traitorous. Bright Hope will come in against other Sabine decks to slow down the opponent in space, as well as protect your own space units. Bright Hope can also be good against decks running Seventh Fleet Defender and other heavy space presence. Zeb is really strong against the more mid range style decks that are running sentinels in the ground arena. For instance, Zeb is great against Boba decks running Gamorrean Guards. I am honestly not sure which matchups the extra copy of Heroic Sacrifice or Ackbar really shine in. I would assume the aggro mirror is likely going to be the best use of both.

Unfortunate misplay there in game 2. When there are 2 simultaneous triggers (Zeb defeating a unit and Obi-Wan dying), active player chooses which player resolves there first. It doesn’t look like there’s a judge at the table, which is a bit surprising
"When Defeated' abilities resolve before "When this unit completes an attack" abilities so there wasn't a simultaneous trigger here.

@@Spirrie It was a good learning moment for me as well haha. I ended up going through the attack rules in the comprehensive rule book step by step and luckily, they address both texts that I quoted.

Unfortunately not in this tournament. Philip ended up missing out on the top cut and finished 25th at 5-3. I am sure we will be seeing a lot more from Philip in the future!
Cool series. I wish there were less Green Sabine... even if the deck is doing well, more diversity would be welcome.
Thanks! I pinned a post in my last video (Round 6 - Palpatine vs Sabine) explaining why Sabine was featured for so many consecutive rounds. Blake was the featured player in Round 4, but then he happened to get paired against the new feature player in Round 5 and 6. I had no control of this, as I had to have a feature player set before the next round was paired. He was back at the feature table for Round 7, because he was one of the last two undefeated players. I definitely wanted to get Paul and his Han Blue to the feature table as he was undefeated as well. This just meant we were going to see Sabine at least one more time.
I can safely say that Round 8 does not feature Sabine! My goal was to get a win-and-in match to the feature table. for the final round, while trying to dodge Sabine.

What were your thoughts on this matchup?
Some pretty bad misplays from the han player to start the match and end the match. Paul needs to think about initiative way more then he does. Turn 2 the first game he swung with a restored arc instead of claiming initiative so that he could get a favorable trade with his ezra and when he didnt do that it was disaster from there and he never recovered. And last match again he swung with restored arc when opponent was representing lethal onboard with any boosts. The restore is nice but when staring down a 4 damage attacker, it's much better to just have initiative and hopefully have the answer or obi wan to try and prevent it.
These are excellent insights. Thank you for sharing. I have found that having the initiative against Sabine can be absolutely crucial.
