    You MUST replace the original .campaign and .shared maps in your maps folder with my modified ones included in the newest version. BACK UP YOUR ORIGINALS if you want to play vanilla content/matchmaking. The Halo 3 update made things slightly complicated.

      Is there a way you could release a mod that made the Halo Reach campaign as close to the beta in terms of appearance and original functionality and ammo of the weapons as possible because I miss how the beta looked and played.

    Honestly I didn't know how you could top your last version of the mod. You understand halo and it's prime elements of a badass yet fair and fluid challange of a combat system in a way 343 doesn't. And yet somehow you also manage to innovate and expand beyond what was already a solid experience. Thanks for making halo shine again you crazy diamond!

    Awesome trailer, cinematography, music, enemy and weapon showcase, pitch perfect. Really makes me wish I had a PC, err . . . a PC that isn’t for school purposes.
    P.S., a Hunter with a flamethrower is the best fucking thing I’ve ever seen!

    Just a question on modding Reach, how hard is it modding in new weapons from scratch or is it even possible? I'm thinking kinda like how SPV3 added the Battle Rifle and all these other guns to CE.

    I can't wait to install this mod. I've only played Reach a handful of times since it's release in December 2019 (I am one of the few who didn't play it back in 2010). While I enjoyed my overall experiences with the game, I felt there was something missing about the combat loop. It felt different than how I remembered CE and 2. Your mod appears to answer a question I didn't know how to ask. Thank you for making this!

    Well, nice to know that this pretty incredible mod is still being developed! With this and SPV3.4 eventually coming out, 2 out of 3 of my favourite Halos are given a serious upgrade. Hopefully 3 gets the same amount of love when it comes to the modding scene.
    Also, by any chance, do you plan on adding the ability to use all Hunter weapons? Oh, and perhaps Jackal shields?

    Hey, I asked on r/halomods if I could apply animations from a newer halo game to an older one. Everybody said model swapping was not currently possible, but clearly you have accomplished it in MCC PC. How did you go about creating this mod because I would like to start creating mods of my own similar to this.

    I’m loving how this looks!! Every time marine squads appeared I had to check to see if anyone big was a squad mate lol. 3:28 to 3:35 Burnie from Rooster Teeth is one of the marines in the squad.

    GET 343 TO ADD EVOLVED AS A SKULL
    Edit: I appreciate the heart and I know you'd be so in board for it, it's litterally free new content that benefits everyone that will give halo fans an opportunity to experience something they never have before in a modular way on pc and xbox and 343 have to do very little work and fighting to test for it given how much you've already done yourself. Never seen a bigger no brainer in my life. Amazing work hope that there are patreon donations or something that are paying off!

    Hi friend, from an Italian fan of your mod!
    It is fantastic how you are continuing to work on this project. If I can suggest any additions:
    - Hunter ODST ranks: Golden and normal Hunter. You could also diversify hunter cannons, from single-shot to ray-fired cannons (like the Halo 2-3 variants). Personally, I WOULD LOVE to be able to take their weapons once killed, it's like the forbidden dream of my childhood;
    - why not re-enter the smg? Maybe silenced? Furthermore, as I had already suggested to you in the past, you could reintroduce the standard green carbine Covenant, to be added to the needle carbine;
    - Vehicle Chapter: The AA wraith may very well be on some mission, like Tip Of The Spear. I risk a bit, what if you introduce some variant of the ghost or the specter from Halo 2?
    Keep it up!

    New things I've noticed,
    increased numbers and variety of dual wielding elites
    the needler can now super combine on shields
    awesome flame thrower hunters
    You now don't lose your previous loadout after crashing on tip of the spear
    The hammer swings faster?
    You now don't switch between the machine gun and main cannon on the scorpion, it now behaves like it did in halos ce and 2
    The focus rifles seems to lose much less ammo
    There's now a scorpion in the glacier section of the package
    5:14 theres only one scarab there (bossfight?)

    The mod looks amazing. You should give the spec opps grunts the major armor like they have in halo 2 anniversary. Maybe you could give more brutes armor that would reduce damage from anything that isn’t armor piercing, and give some of them human weapons like one of the mission from halo 2.
    Do you think that you will do mods like this for the other halo games? If so maybe you could do stuff like make the brute armor in halo 3 and ODST not explode when the shields go down but would remain intact and when you shoot it enough individual pieces would fall of and the shield would be weaker and weaker the less armor they have or you could make it so any shots that aren’t armor piercing would only do reduced damage to armor, have the brutes act like the halo 2 brutes so they are no longer just bootleg elites, add the drone ranks you made in this mod, have brute versions of various normal covenant weapons, and have some other covenant races be allied with humans but they would have different armor to show that they are allies and some would use human weapons.
    For halo 4 you could have more instances of the covenant working with the prometheans, have the sentinels appear in more locations and would be neutral until the prometheans arrive and then they would join them, if it’s possible maybe you could add the covenant prometheans that were seen in the concept art for halo 5 which would appear on the last mission after the didact gets the composer.

    Been giving this a go for a while. I think the elite shields might be overtuned against certain projectile weapons, like the AR and BR. I'm okay with counter play, but the hill seems rather steep on Heroic (which to my knowledge is the difficulty sweetspot of the game for Bungie's designs). That said, nothing's impossible or bullshit, just a few items of the sandbox that could use some love. I'll go into some detail:
    The AR is still WAAAAYY better than the vanilla version for Reach or CE tbh, I just want a little more oomph from it DPS-wise. IDK how everyone else feels. Sometimes a skirmisher takes just a few too many rounds from it, or elite's point-blank just eat too much rounds and get rewarded for charging stupidly at me. That said, the bloom and the fire rate are spot on and I can't get enough of it!
    I'll say that the frag grenade and BR seem to be the least impressive items. I don't even bother with the BR in this version, as the needle rifle is far superior as a precision weapon, and the AR is more reliable given it can engage at various distances comfortably. Maybe its spot as the designated shield-shredder in the UNSC arsenal ought to make a comeback? I'd still take a backseat to plasma, but giving it that edge- or just buffing its damage because even brutes laugh at the thing sometimes, might give it a cool role as "not so precise mid-range beast". Also, throwing a frag grenade /might/ score a few of jackal and grunt kills, yet the bouncing along with the modest blast radius just make it meh to me.
    Beyond these negatives however, I really like this. Weapons have their role, and if you use them right, they really kick ass.

      I've been thinking about buffing the frag grenades for a while now, and I sorta indirectly did so by making the fuse time for the plasma grenade considerably longer, giving the frags the edge in the non-stuck grenade matchup. That being said, it can be a bit tricky to try to buff them much further considering you carry 4 of each grenade now. I'd prefer to not have them promote grenade spam.
      I think the BR is ok where it is now for 2.2, where I slightly increased its red reticle radius to make the shielded jackal matchup much better than before. Its role in the Evolved sandbox is to be a headshot machine/finisher, capable of mopping up whole squads of unshielded foes like Grunts/Jackals/Skirmishers and weakened Elites when going for headshots. It's not as good at taking down healthier targets with body shots, which is what weapons such as the AR and Shotgun are for.
      I may experiment with buffing the AR, slightly, but it's something that requires extra caution because previous iterations that were slightly stronger just decimated everything. Honestly, I'm also ok with where it is now, but some experimentation won't hurt.

I'm glad you're striving to use asymmetry in balances to make weapons feel distinct (the plasma fuse time is a great example). I'll just say that even if I have four frag grenades, I'm often indifferent about throwing them; the plasma grenade has such a distinct utility in sticking, and that they're strewn about every battlefield due to enemy drops, I only throw frags incidentally or to try and kill those light groups (and the payoff of good placement is underwhelming). I appreciate you're doing a lot to keep everything in perspective. I trust your tweaks will keep everything in perspective.
      Great response on the BR. My only question is why not use the AR or magnum to wipe out jackals/grunts which you can still do at a moderate distance, on top of being able to mag dump harder targets in close range (the AR more so, but the pistol can spray)? Whereas plinking at elites with the BR is oft futile: in mid-range, they dip into cover and recharge with their Reach trademarked mobility. It can kill grunts and jackals, but it suffers in CQB and it never feels useful beyond that mid-range that other weapons can cover and then some. It's not that it's totally useless, I can get kills with it, it's why I should PREFER it over others. The rest of your sandbox achieves that preference across the board otherwise!
      But hey, even if you don't address these things? I will always play this mod over vanilla, hand's down. I'm glad all my complaints are nitty-gritty tweaks, not HUGE issues.

    Question: how did you give grunt spec ops shields? I tried looking at the grunt CHAR tags in assembly, and spec ops grunts have 20 shield vitality, which I would assume is what gives them shields, but the grunt ultras have 50 shield vitality but they have no energy shields so that can't be what needs to be changed. Do you need to edit other tags for a biped to give them shields?

    Having played through about half the Campaign on Legendary on MCC, I'm gonna offer a bit of criticism here for lack of a better place to do so. Keep in mind a lot of this is subjective and overall the mod is very impressive, but there's still room to critique:
    Starting off, despite the mod's attempts to dial back Reach's "shit designed specifically to PISS YOU OFF" balancing, a lot of frustration still remained for me in the campaign. Phantom Chin Turrets are still cancer, and the Aggro Hunters don't work well because that entire projectile type is just trash. Explosives in general are extremely overdone in Reach, and that makes the new Plasma Launcher type weapons just irritating to go up against. Earlier Halo titles knew they needed to be -very- restrained when giving the enemies explosives; Reach and by extension Reach Evolved just go batshit with it.
    The changes to movement, while conceptually great, fundamentally don't work well with Reach's level design. To be clear, this is an issue with Reach itself and not the mod - arenas are just not well designed, with cover often being obtuse and the player being incentivized to run away from enemies to recharge shields or recover health and ammo. A compromise to return Sprint while preventing shields from recharging during Sprint might work. Also, the Zero-G sections of Long Night of Solace are just garbage with even floatier moonjumps and no sprint - is there any way to just turn that shit off once you're in the carrier?
    Some encounter designs felt a little off, for example the clusterfuck at the end of Nightfall was a tad tedious. The SpecOps Elites after killing the HVT in Tip of the Spear is an asshole. The clusterfuck of SpecOps in the base of the Spire feels off too since you're heavily incentivized to skip the tower; I feel they'd be better off doing anti-air at the top of the tower for that exact reason.

      I’m two months late responding to this, my bad.
      What would you rather me do to the Phantom/Aggro Hunter projectiles to make them less “cancer”? You criticized them, but didn’t really offer ways for me to improve them, so I don’t really know where I would start? RoF? Damage? Concussive-ness?
      Can you please also elaborate on your point about too many enemy explosives? For the first half of the campaign, I effectively removed the Concussion Rifle, which was probably the most common explosive weapon in the vanilla game, as it’s now mostly Brute-exclusive in Evolved (and even then, it’s a rare sight and they fire it slower than vanilla). If your issue solely lies in the Plasma Caster, I can simply look in to nerfing the enemy damage output, which I’ve been thinking about doing anyway.
      I don’t think your Sprint suggestion is possible with Reach.
      The last Nightfall encounter, I do plan to edit it in the future. Probably gonna cut down on the number of elites to just have the one General and the few Rangers that try to flank you, and maybe remove a few of the other enemies so I can just mainly center around the Hunters. I don’t agree with your Spire point. I don’t think having a Zealot + Drones + Spec Ops in one claustrophobic space is a good idea, and will just create another “clusterfuck” area.

    I am so excited for this. I have recently been releasing Halo 2 Campaign mods on the nexus myself, and Halo Reach Rebalanced was one of the primary inspirations for my work with Halo 2. I'm hyped to relive the experience!

    After the MCC updated for halo 3 this mod doesn't work for me anymore. Anybody else?

      He updated the mod (due to halo 3 changing files in the MCC) now Tip of the Spear crashes everytime for me, the rest works fine though

    well im happy this mod the brutes dont have shields like prometheus gonna be alot more easier doing deathless on this mod but will probably do it after halo reach ruby rebalanced

      They already massively improved on it for the Halo 3 flight! Hoping the other games get similar treatment, plus the ability to edit side-to-side positions (can only currently edit forward/backward and up/down).

    The Reach Evolved Legendary playthrough I did a while back was a ton of fun, but it did feel a bit too much like Heroic.
    Glad to hear that's been adressed, looking forward to trying out the 2.0 Legendary.

    Why not just replace the DMR with the battle rifle? Why change the DMR into the same burst-fire assault rifle the BR55 is?

      The Vengeful 'Vadam hey vadam, just wanted to say that the mod is amazing. Reach is maybe my least favorite halo game. But this mod has made it really fun and all the weapons are useful and i can now do different play styles. So thank you for all your hard work.

    Also, I read the changelog. Really not sure how I feel about the Brute Plasma Spate being full-auto or the Eviscerator shots bouncing off shields.

      It's version 2.0 for PC.
      Brutes didn't have a true full-auto weapon, and honestly I think the Brute Spate is more interesting as a full-auto weapon in hindsight, kind of like the Retro Lancer from Gears 3. Eviscerator's projectiles bounce off shields, but they still do decent damage to them, just not as much. It's not entirely ineffective.
