Just finished this after 8 hours on my LR3 a couple days ago. The rear struts seemed impossible to get into position, but then I realized you can drop the bottom in, align the top where you won’t bend a bolt when you kick it past the housing, and kick the rear strut into place. The rear housing has enough give that it will bend out of the way for a split second and pop right back. Yes, you’ll scratch the black paint on the pretty new strut just a little, but oh well. It made getting the rear struts into place to be bolted in like a 1 minute job, instead of a 20 minute wrestling match. Also, PB B’laster spray and a 2-foot breaker bar plus a 2-foot metal pipe helped with the nearly 400 ft-pounds I needed to release the bottom rear nut on each side! When you retorque them in the end, they only need around 221 ft-lbs however. And yeah, the smooth air ride has been downgraded a little to a regular SUV ride now, but nothing bad or unusual. The body has a little more sway in the turns, but this isn’t a sports car anyway. And it still goes through the rough cow pastures now just like any SUV or pickup. I did 80 down the Interstate, and it felt perfectly stable and boring as well. And your video helped my confidence a lot, so thank you!
Please help!! I’m doing the conversion but when it came down to the bottom bolt, the coil spring goes about 3 inches past the arm control hole. How do I line them up? I used a jack to compress the spring but it moves to much! Please any suggestions help 🫣😞
Good evening, I have a question. I'm having problems with my front suspension on the right side. I changed the airbag for a new one and it doesn't look good. I'm thinking of using this same suspension kit that you used. My question is about the lights that come on in the Dash how they can be removed and if you had the same problem
Thanks for the video. But how is the ride? I am debating if I'm going back to air or coil spring. All my airsuspension now are all crappy. After 3 or 4 days my range rover sports goes down to a very low position.
Look I get it but frankly you loose the beautiful supple ride and all the terrain response options and functionality if you remove the EAS not to mention the warning lights all on all the time …. Your car you do what you like but coil overs are a cheap and basic alternative and if you ever sell it’s worth nothing with after market cheap coil overs . Certainly I would never ever do this to my Range Rover if I had EAS problems id get it fixed …simple 🤷🏽♂️
I agree with this. The air struts have a lifespan, like anything, but they are extremely easy to remove and replace. Plus, lots of options on the parts ranging from genuine to aftermarket.

Thanks! planning to do this myself. I've been dealing with suspension issues for years. This will be so much more reliable!
The air suspension on these is brilliant, you should sort it when you get time. Coil springs are rubbish by comparison.
It's the best ride ever, to convert to spring is one thing but I still prefer my air ride. Like a gliding ride even better than a Benz.

Good job , check your tyres for cracks in the side walls , you may have changed them by now though .
where did you get the spring kit from? cheers in advanced
Where did you buy your conversion kit?

It used to have a can module that bypass it.

Hi wher du iu buy the coil?
Good job I will too
Hi hast du ein link wo man die bestellen kann?
Great job. Did you have to remove any air suspension parts or just the air struts?
Just wondering where did you get the coil springs from? Also did you use the module that eliminates all the error codes? Thanks.
In the video he said eBay for $330 used

You don’t need to do anything in the engine bay to get the bags off.
I need one for sure i have the same problem every day I’m tired of it send me eBay link so i can buy those struts
That’s a major downgrade
Hi
Dude range rover is not for you
This is like making your Rover into an explorer. But, there are reasons to do it when necessary.
Is it cheap to do this..or is it not worth it?
