  • This is not a typical video that I would post. However, since I did not see any women who had posted videos fixing home appliances, I wanted to demonstrate that fixing an appliance is gender-neutral.
Solutions for "Stuck Key" error. Replacing the glued on button control, membrane switch
If you are having problems with the button control not responding on Whirlpool/Kitchenaid gas stove. Here are several easy options:
    1) Unplug the stove or turn off the main electric power line to the stove for 1 minute. Re-connect the electricity, return to the stove and press the following keys in this order " Off" "Off" "Start" "Clock Set"
    2) If the touchpad system does not reset using option 1 try replacing the switch membrane to solve your appliance problem.
    Tools you need this repair/replacement:
    1) #2 Philips Screw Driver
    2) Rubbing alcohol
    3) Towel for cleaning the surface
Get model-specific repair. Try contacting the company for troubleshooting and possible other solutions or parts that may be under warranty. If you have diagnosed that you need to replace the touchpad panel you can use this video. This was an easy and quick fix for me, so if you are willing to take a risk of changing the part yourself and you trust your skills for minimal work, this could be an easy fix for you as well.
Link to the item part- it is available through different sources- Prices ranges between $60-$180

My son and I ordered the part you recommended from Amazon, but that link brought up one for 89 or so. There's one for 69 or so. So, I received the part the next day and fixed the error. Thank you so much. Remembering which parts to put back together and how was my biggest problem. Again, thank you for the video! Probably saved me a couple hundred dollars! My son was appalled at how dirty the oven was, but who ever takes their oven apart like this? I don't! There was so much dust inside, but it was a lot of work to replace this part.

Have a different Whirlpool oven, My control board has a glass cover, with rubber knobs instead of a touch-pad ... So we got the dreaded F2E0 for the 2nd time. First time we sent the board out to be repaired. The company who repaired it improved this existing manufacturing issues ...that was 6 years ago. So I removed the glass cover, gave the control board a good cleaning, reset the cover...WHOLLAH....fixed !!! Not quite the process that you described, but it gave me the idea to remove the cover, clean it up, clean the control board...see what happens. Thank you ....I had already started taking it apart to send the board out for a 2nd repair. A new board was $250, repaired $138.

I love that you posted, yes more women should post repairs. I'm so glad you showed it was the plastic circuits on the film and not the actual board. This may save me $$ on parts. Thanks again!

good job changing the controller. From my experience the self cleaning function usually causes the control membrane to fail because of the excessive heat.

You may not need to replace the front panel control board, at least in my case. I have a simple fix for error F2E0, for units with the capacitive touch panel. There's a diagnostic menu selection called CONTROL RESET. To access the diagnostic menu, press in sequence: OFF, OFF, START, 6. Then tap 6 until the display reads CONTROL RESET. If I remember correctly, pressing START will initiate the reset. Last time I did this, F2E0 did not occur for a year. It happened again 2 weeks ago, which reminded me of the need to share this information. Problem happened 3 times in 1 week, but not since performing the lates CONTROL RESET.
Diagnostic mode has many uses, including manually calibrating oven temperature, if yours is not accurate.

The code means Stuck button or Contactors need cleaning and decreasing. All you had to do was take the board out disconnect the connectors .Spray the Board and Connectors with Contact cleaner let dry Reinstall the board .Remember to unplug the unit before service.
