Perfect description I ordered the part and fixed it myself. I had someone give me a quote for almost $900 to replace it. I have had it replaced before for less than $350 before. I told him he was crazy if he thought I was going to pay $900 (part and service). I ordered the part found your directions and went for it. I think sometimes they over charge women. Thank you so much.
I followed these exact same steps for my Kitchenaid gas range and it worked like a charm! Thank you for posting this amazingly helpful video. In a million years I never could have figured it out without it.
This video was very helpful. Thanks! For you DIYers out there. I have a gas model. There were 6 screws under the control tray covered by the oven door. In addition I had to remove the control knobs from the gas solenoids to turn the panel out. Other than that my repair was pretty straight forward. Also an older oven that sees daily use will have a lot of grease and gunk build up that should be cleaned up as you go especially on the metal panels and where they join together. This turned into as much a job of clean up as it was replacing the Membrane Switch.
This video was a life saver. I could have spent hours trying to figure out how to fix it. Thanks, very detailed. exactly what I need to get the job done.
Thanks for the detailed step-by-step demonstration. I took a little longer for me because it was an old oven, needed to cleanup when pulled out, but actual replacement work took only 25 minutes! Saved a lot.
Oh my goodness, thank you for this video! My folks and I were at our wit's end! Our oven hadn't been cleaned in years so a cleaning operation needed to take place first haha, but we were able to successfully take out the control panel. Turns out we just needed to unplug the ribbon connector and plug it back in and everything now works great. If it goes out again we now know how to sort it out. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! Just ordered my part and ready to fix it myself (and a good opportunity to clean areas that have been ignored for quite some time). Video is saving lots of money and time.
Thank you so much for posting this video. The oven in the video is the same as ours. The off button was not working and I was able to replace the membrane which solved the problem. The oven is working well again.
Thank you for this video. I have exactly the same model but the switch for the front left burner doesn't work. Sometimes it does but most of the time it does not. Does anybody know how to fix it?
Thank you so much for the video post! I have the exact same model and recently the heating became intermittent, that indicator light blinks instead of stable. Which part should I replace? Any advice is much appreciated!
It's the power light just above switch that blinks (not the 'Hot Surface' indicator), as a result, burner element became intermittent corresponding to the blinking power light
You may have a poor electrical connection to the control or the control itself may be defective. You should not use this burner until it has been repaired.
Hi there! I need help opening my kitchenaid oven. It’s locked and I have replaced a part according to another youtuber’s video, but it’s still locked. I’m wondering if you have an advice or can point me in the right direction. Thank you for your help!
I have this exact stove. When selecting “bake” and say 400 to preheat, Stove will pre heat to 400 no problem , but then when I put in food it will not stay at 400. Will not come back up to temp after preheating. Also burners will turn off sometimes and sometimes stay on. What you think is the problem ? Thanks.
Thanks! This is EXACTLY what I'm about to do now on our gas range. (now if I could only find the 8204689 display for the microwave, I'd be good as new!)
Hi Archie, and thanks for the question. Here's a page on our website that might help you troubleshoot the issue with your range: www.fix.com/repair/appliance/range/little-to-no-heat-when-baking/ Feel free to reach out if you're still having trouble!
I need to replace the ceramic surface on my stove, which is a white version of this, how would I go about doing that? I've not had much luck searching for directions on my own.
You will need to remove the side panels to access the trim pieces that hold the top on. This also requires removing screws located at the back that secure the side panels and the back splash. I believe the control panel needs to be loosened as well.
Hi I got a double oven stove ,when I did the gas connection I noticed a leak coming from the connection that is on the stove not from the gas line on the wall.
The model in the video is a YKERA807PS00. The infinite switch is available only as a set of 4 switches. Part number is PS2378278. Depending on your model, the element could be either the PS11764902 dual element or the PS11764908 1800 watt element.

Great video! The Off button is not working on our range. Is this a Control Board issue or Membrane? Thanks so much.
The symptom could be caused by either part. What is your model number?
I have the same problem, off button not working, which part did you end up replacing? Thanks.
Same
Not sure of model but it looks the exact same as in your video

Can someone give me the part number I need to order one mine went bad.
Do a search with the model number and the words Membrane Switch. That should get you what you need.
how do you remove the front panel on the gas version of this range? It is similar up to the point of rotating the control panel?
You would have to remove the burner control knobs and then the screws behind them. Be sure to turn off the gas supply first.
Thanks! This is EXACTLY what I'm about to do now on our gas range. (now if I could only find the 8204689 display for the microwave, I'd be good as new!)
