In my country it's a box of beer or 2 for a crime like that, but a BBQ might be more fitting. Come on big mouths make it happen!

Sadly saw the post about the "fans" almost ruining Eds surprise poor form indeed hopefully that's said and done and we can move forward without any further incidents. Every time I hear Hillbilly explaining car functions and parts, I wonder why the hell is his nickname "Hillbilly.' When he's explaining the wiring, he sounds like a car savant.

love watching you guys, started watching Matts 1st, then saw you guys on his videos and i love everything you guys stand for. I feel like i have known you guys all my life. All this 4x4 riding brings so many memories back. East Blue River Road, Pekin, Indiana here. Me and my wife both had Polaris 1000 sxs and was big at off roading in all surrounding states. I always wanted to do Mohab one day. But in 2020 i had a life changing
diagnose of eye cancer and lost my vision in my oem eye, and other eye is not too good Had to sell everything and focus on the more important things in life. My advice, enjoy every minute of life you can while you can. you never know what tomorrow will bring. keep the awesome videos coming,

That's been my worry since is turned into a huge project and it started taking so long. Too many chances for Ed to start wondering why it's taking so long, and more and more people learn about it and can spill the beans.
I know you are trying to get it done quickly, but the longer it took, the better chance it'll come out.

The conversation we saw between Ed and Robby had Ed talking about the Rokon and the Golden Nugget, and there is no way knew what was really happening. His voice and body language were both relaxed and interested in the conversation with not the slightest hint of dissimulation. As of now, Ed is still in the dark, but it only takes one youngster, who doesn't understand secrets, to blab at the meet and greet.
You can't rush an excellent job. And all of Bobby's work is excellent. All the good shops know this.

These newer vehicles that come with so many distance sensors in the factory bumper and lights are ridiculous especially if you live on a farm and use the truck a mile down a gravel road after a rain you get a bell dinging and a dashlight flashing that you're too close to something same with pulling a trailer especially if you turn sharp my dad's last 2 trucks he had me eliminate those sensors immediately I don't have to worry most of my vehicles are antique and carburated my tow rig is a 98 Chevy with a vortec 454 still minimal wiring I'm lucky enough to own a salvage yard so I have plenty of spare parts so for now I sell my LS engines and usually end up with their old engine cheap for a project I have a couple of deuce and a halfs 1 with the troop carrier bed and 1 with a wrecker bed my friends and the local ORV park always call me when somethings stuck bad the local farmers have called me for stuck tractors and heavy equipment some pulls have given me a challenge but most are straight forward
I read about some yahoo's talking to Ed about the nugget over the weekend on Matt's Channel. How thoughtless can you get! If ever their was a bonified time to give someone a Gibbs Slap this is it! I hope Ed is ok. He's such a wonderful fellah.

If it was going to be shown to the public, the parade was the safest way by far.

Great video but was wondering about an undercoating and spray in bed liner for the truck.
I agree that it needed undercoating to help it last longer. Those service beds are not cheap. The matching paint job is pretty cool though
I think it's going somewhere else for rhinoliner I don't think he's got the gun for that and the booth really isn't set up for that the first video said something about rhinoliner
I have the same bluepoint soldering iron but over the years of using both I find my go-to is a electric Weller since it heats up wires faster

I LOVE mine, & use it to do a LOT of repairs to my RC wiring! It heats up rather quickly, & lasts a decent amount per battery charge.

I saw that a couple fans showed up at the shop and it almost was already talked about. At Matts
I install those beds for a living. It is great to see someone else have to go through the same head aches I deal with daily.
I built and installed flatbeds and service bodys for years I still do the occasional one here and there but I don't miss doing it daily multiple times
I feel your pain , I’ve been installing truck bodies since 1983 . Back then there were no “quick “ mounting kits available for service bodies . In a lot a ways it’s easier now EXCEPT for vehicle integration with the wiring .Electronic locks on service body integrated with the truck key fob , B/U cameras , b/u sensors , rear blind side assist, separate brake & turn signals on p/u bed take offs vs. factory bed delete . FUN times . I am located in NJ and I’m not sure how the customer or my boss would react if we said it’s only a $50 - $70,000 work truck . Robbie , there are rectangular fuel cups available that will fit both fuel and the def necks in same location . Better option for future installs.

1-gallon rectangular metal cans - the kind paint thinner and whatnot comes it - make a dandy headrest when you're under a vehicle but need to hold your head up off the floor.

Can you do a video, specifically outlining of the challenges of a sandy area?
I.e. how to prevent sand in ur finished products.
Cleaning them before hand.
Maybe if sand gets into the threads ur removing vs rust like we get here in the north east.
How to mitigate issues because of the area.
Also, if you mix paints any differently to circumvent the extremely sunny and hot climate?
Be cool to know the business differences.

As someone who has built commercial trucks for a living, and worked for a knapheide dealer….the bed isn’t the issue, it’s putting anything on a mopar chassis….their a giant PITA…especially as a dealer because ford/gm stuff mount kit and body wise is interchangeable but mopar isn’t
I saw the feed today from MORRecovery. It is a shame that Morons turn up to be idiots and talk out of school. Ed is a fellow Veteran (dif War) and he will still enjoy the presentation.
Why are Italians the best when it comes to wiring? Their the only ones that understand spaghetti!
The only thing that suck about knapheide service bodies is their filler necks. They don't like to automatically fill. You have to stand there and hold the pump nozzle. It's not to bad in the summer, but not fun when it's -40 degs with a 40 mph wind. Winter are not always fun in ND.
Of course stupid people are gonna ruin the surprise! Awesome video guys!

Sure looks like a Knapheide service body too me and the bumper is lined bingo watching these guys paint and build this truck, nice too see it was done ✅ once and done right amazing concept and saves money 💰 and it’s a base clear my job was to do paint repair on something that is already built but can’t be shipped I worked at the flint Michigan location for 5 yrs glad to be out of there

Spooks me when I see hillbilly drilling with the step drill bit and no eye protection. I made that mistake years ago and the scar to my eye still impairs my vision today. Only have one set of eyes for life!

Do the hinges for the doors cause issues with the paint? Like being painted across the seams for the opposite directions of the hinge cracking the paint or something?

We move them while paint is wet and again when tacky and never had a problem with chipping

Great job guys
I know soldering seems like the best way to join wires but in the automotive environment soldering is bad. Wires should be crimped, after which they can be heat shrink shielded. Not with cheap butt connecters though. There's a reason factory manufacturers don't join wires with solder in cars. The vibration fatigues the joint and may eventually break. The best way is to de-pin the connecter and crimp on a new end.
For splicing together the wires like they did, there is zero problem with soldering and heat shrink in my experience. I have had lots of crimp connectors fail/need repair, but I don't remember any solder joints that failed.
I am sure it can happen, I just don't remember any.
If there is enough flex to cause a problem, it's likely a routing issue rather than the joints fault.
An electric heat gun is a wonderful tool for heat-shrink tubing.
