Good morning Robby so is this a sign that you need another skid steer so when you get the first one stuck you will have a back up. I always enjoy seeing the boss's beautiful smile and that laugh of hers you can't have a bad day seeing her.
Nice work, one suggestion (having worked for a few decades with small equipment like skid loaders) always keep your arms as low as you can, once they are up high the center of gravity shifts significantly and loaders get very "tippy". Hate to see anyone roll one over. Take care guys!!!
Worst one responded to was a farmer moving big round bales, the 1st time he got lucky and as bale was rolling back a bump caused to shift and tip sideways,, 2nd time responded to same address had a gut feeling this ain't gonna be good,, same person, same peice of equipment, almost the exact same spot, but instead of tipping over sideways the bale rolled back off the bucket, down the arms, and over him,, in the days before everything had cab or rollover bars
I love the attitude y’all have!! If the rest of the world had the attitude y’all have just imagine how much better life would be!! Y’all are awesome and thank y’all for making our day start out with a positive outlook! Absolutely the best channel on TH-cam!!!!!
skid wincher= Skwinch 😁 Never a dull moment at Layton Nation!! LOL!! I thought you guys did a good job getting that truck out of that mud hole!! He was most assuredly STUCK!!! 😁
You guy's and lady did a great job. Use the forks to push and pull it out. Unless your in a small confined space. It is just about impossible to get it stuck. Spinning the tracks will compress the muck underneath and allow extraction. It is hard on the tracks. But not everyone can just go get another.
When you have 500 recoveries like Matt , then perhaps there might be some comparisons YOU GOZT THEM OUT ! ... I have never seen Matt Tack Static and Blow anything ! ::) I luv Matt's channel too .. Thanks for this one ! ❤
I hesitate to write this because Robby and gang are truly among my favorites, and I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but when you hire Matt or Rory for a recovery you get the “goods”. With Robby you tend towards the “goofs”. :-)))
A great team at work......got stuck but able to get the eqt. to get unstuck! Practice makes perfect!! Mud of any type can be a slimey, sticky, gooey, and complicated recovery!
I heard you well Robby You said : If we had a wrecker Bang !! You incanted it... The magik words are spread The clock has started... How much time before a wrecker is sitting in your yard ???
Some buddies and I were mudding on his property. First guy went through a pond overflow crossing in an old bronco bouncing off trees the whole way . I followed in my heavier diesel, crawling to avoid the trees, big mistake sunk to frame on 33's. We couldn't get straps to clear ground and none of us had winches back then. I had to drive 2.5 hours home, get a mini-ex, drag my truck out, hump equipment back, then come back for my truck (trailer was not long enough). That was a ridiculously long weekend.
Don't you Boyz from Ephraim know the town of Thistle was hit by one of the biggest landslides that hit the state of Utah! It blocked the River, and flooded the whole town in 1983. It's not a place to take a Sunday drive.
What possessed you to drive further into quicksand? Lesson learned. HD Sparks had a similar lesson when he took his family out to his private island and got many rescue vehicles stuck. Quicksand; I've had two experiences with it, one of my own doing, and one rescuing others.
There are a number of tips and tricks skid loader operators can use to create lift and minimize the potential of getting stuck. You can use the boom down and bucket tilt cylinder to lift and push yourself out. One or two sheets of plywood makes a great mats to set the skid loader on to minimize sinking throw the plywood on the truck before loading the skid loader.
The secret with suction when you can just pull(no lift)- put it on tension and patiently keep retentionig it for the next half hour. So its not enough to rip vehicle apart or pull your recovery rigg inn, but the maximum tension at all time. In first 10 min it might move just 10mm, but keep that tension on, keep checking it so it does not losen up and eventually it will start to come out quicker and quicker to the point where you can see it moving after half hour or more.
As an old excavator a trick we used was to chain a log perpendicular to both track. It acts as a paddle. I’ve never seen it not get a dozer out of primordial ooze, pointing to where ever you want.
Glad you guys are out there having fun. That said, a word of caution: Don't ever stand under a raised loader arm unless you have it mechanically locked out. If something in the hydraulic system lets go (something bursts), those arms can drop like a guillotine. (It won't be slow like it is when you move it under power.) I've never seen it happen, but it has happened. If it doesn't kill you outright, it will certainly maim you. (Sorry for being the safety guy, but these kind of accidents can be devastating in the blink of an eye.)
Back in the 70's and 80's I was a Heavy Duty Electrician (4 inch conduit, miles long cables) on the power houses being built in Utah. We would wake up at 4 am, load up buddies around Orem and Provo, drive through Historic Spanish Fork Canyon (Part of the Old Spanish Trail to California) work a 10-12 hour shift, drive back home late at night, and do the whole thing over again the next morning. One morning there were a lot of lights around Thistle. They were rebuilding the railroad track. That went on for days. Then one morning there were big bumps in the road. The railroad crews had given up. Billie's Mountain was having a slow landslide, wiping out the tracks, sliding up the other side and destroying the road. Then the road was closed as nature did it's thing. We had to find another way to get to work.
" It takes a team effort to get this stuck ". The boss has the best line ever !
Layskidditon, good name for the skid steer
No one can turn a recovery into an "adventure" faster than Robby Layton Nation! Good going Guys & Gal!!
I think his name is Rory.
@@chrissmith3509 Rory creates a whole different level of adventures!
Demri is adorable! She's the best reason to show up for work every day!
The boss lady has the best giggles on TH-cam. And a lesson learned is a lesson earned. 😊😊
Good morning Robby so is this a sign that you need another skid steer so when you get the first one stuck you will have a back up.
I always enjoy seeing the boss's beautiful smile and that laugh of hers you can't have a bad day seeing her.
Another action packed adventure. Great. BTW I spy a can of chew??? in the bosses back pocket at 6:00
It's always nice seeing Demri! Thanks all for sharing!
Well that was interesting. Have a good week and count your blessings amen.
Nice work, one suggestion (having worked for a few decades with small equipment like skid loaders) always keep your arms as low as you can, once they are up high the center of gravity shifts significantly and loaders get very "tippy". Hate to see anyone roll one over. Take care guys!!!
I was thinking the same thing.
Excellent job! Really shows your skill when you reassessed after the skid loader sank and got the right tool instead of digging in deeper.
I like how you take responsibility Robbie, it would have been so easy to blame Hillbilly since he was driving
"Skidie Kitty"!!!!!! Name for the skid steer
There doesn't seem to be a quick way to get out of quicksand! Nice recoveries for our Nation's team.
Good job. It's no fun being buried to the frame. I like the name "Skiddie Cat" Keep it up!
Some "roads" are better to bypass.👍🤠👍
Glad you got it out.😊
I love the attitude y’all have!! If the rest of the world had the attitude y’all have just imagine how much better life would be!! Y’all are awesome and thank y’all for making our day start out with a positive outlook! Absolutely the best channel on TH-cam!!!!!
I hate mud but you people made it look fun and just another adventure in the books
We call that an ooooops! Great job guys. Have an awesome weekend
The boss is always right! Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next...
skid wincher= Skwinch 😁 Never a dull moment at Layton Nation!! LOL!! I thought you guys did a good job getting that truck out of that mud hole!! He was most assuredly STUCK!!! 😁
You're a smart recovery guy that uses a skid steer w/ a winch to get vehicles out. 👍
Skiddy McSkidface!
A small failure can result in a big gain in knowledge. Now you know, hopefully you will remember.
You guy's and lady did a great job. Use the forks to push and pull it out. Unless your in a small confined space. It is just about impossible to get it stuck. Skitty is a good name for the skid leader ..like it
Skid Marks make a good name
Fun in the Mud ! Thanks for sharing .
just after 5 am and my day is already made thanks boy's and "BOSS"!!!
You all should the skid steer Mark!
This is exciting, usually they just whisk me away
Jeff D.
Hehehe
The year of Rain! Even here in New England flooding all down the Connecticut River. From coast to coast Rain.
Watching one of the most talented painters wallowing around in the mud 😅. Too much fun 🤩
Good job I don't know.
You came out and with the wet foot. Quack quack.👍🏽🤟🏽🤔🙄😊😎🙋🏽♂️.
As Clint Eastwood was heard to say, "Sometimes a man just has to know his limitations."
I agree with you on that road closed sign.
Maybe the wincher: Kitty CAT! Lol
My old man is from Fairview and I remember well the landslide that put thistle under water. Brings back old memories.
Awsome recovery....great shots and content
If you had a bucket for your skid steer with you you could have just scooped out a path to the back of the truck.
Lessons learned and great job with the recovering and God bless from GA and stay safe
Thats a good name Wincher! At least you had a nice day for it, coulda been raining! good job all around though...well sorta lol
Yay off we go again🤭👏🙂
I really like the fact that no matter what y'all still keep positive & have smiles👍👍
Nicely Done Everyone☆!!! ☕🐢
You forgot to ask yhe critical question before starting lol .. What Would Matt Do? Good job getting it all out.
Should have used Hillbilly’s Harley. Not to pull it with but to shove under the truck tires for traction.
When you have 500 recoveries like Matt , then perhaps there might be some comparisons YOU GOZT THEM OUT ! ... I have never seen Matt Tack Static and Blow anything ! ::) I luv Matt's channel too .. Thanks for this one ! ❤

Your right Robby she is a beautiful boss. Your one lucky guy. Great job guy's and gals. Keep up the great work and stay safe. Thanks for the video.
My recommendation is to bring some swamp pads with you for jobs like this maybe the rental place had them or you could build some.
😮. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab On. Weld On. Keep making. God bless
A great team at work......got stuck but able to get the eqt. to get unstuck! Practice makes perfect!! Mud of any type can be a slimey, sticky, gooey, and complicated recovery!
Totally impressed by the chain toss!
You need to name it Skiddy Skiddy Bang Bang
Love how the "Boss" is just standing there laughing at your mistakes
Well done, get rid of those snap binders!!!
Good thing they make Fords, otherwise you guys wouldn't have anything to pull out of the mud. Chevy power!
So ya have Whiskers, call the skid steer Whisky Junior (JR)
I heard you well Robby
You said : If we had a wrecker
Bang !! You incanted it... The magik words are spread
The clock has started...
How much time before a wrecker is sitting in your yard ???
he's had one being built for months now based on an old 1940s truck cab.
Bunch of Wollies! That's just how I would have done !!
I think “Winchell” would be an appropriate name for your skid steer for its capability. It also can do donuts very easily.😅
These little Einstein's are ALWAYS on a COOL ADVENTURE! I wonder what fun we are in for today? Let's watch! 😊

However, that is a memory that you will not forget. I will venture to bet that that memory is not a bad one.
@@Rat-Builder it's pushing 20 years and I still occasionally get crap about it from those guys. Makes me really miss the truck too.
They hit that with speed!!!

Skid Steer...Bully the sKid or just Kid
Nice editing, perfect time.
Sniddy-Two shoes is a great name. I also like, Skid-N-Play 😂
you always do a good job.
What possessed you to drive further into quicksand? Lesson learned. HD Sparks had a similar lesson when he took his family out to his private island and got many rescue vehicles stuck. Quicksand; I've had two experiences with it, one of my own doing, and one rescuing others.
You should call the skid steer: "Scrappy Tracks"😂👍😎😎😊
Fun to watch. Mrs Boss had the mic drop comment of the video.
Robbie, I think you should name the skid steer, BAIL OUT!!! Because it always bailing someone out!!
That was a soupy mess. I'm glad the second skid steer did the work!
At least the recovery went well. Not like leaving something on a frozen mountain for the winter.
Skiddy skiddy bang bang!
One name suggestion for the Skid-Steer: UGGA-TUGGA
Hillbilly got me thinking. How about Winchton?
That was a lot of MUD!! Great job on the RECOVERY!! Now time for a car wash!!
Boss lady you was right it's a team effort . Glad you all got them out and you got out safely ...
Ya gotta get some A1 sauce for those 'steaks🥩
Like you said Robby, you make mistakes, but you learn from it. Nice recovery Robby, Hillbilly, Demri and Steve. 🤙😎
Maybe "Skiddy Cat" would be a good name for the skid steer?

Well who didn't see that coming!!!
Skiddy 2 shoes love it.
You got it done,. Most important as you said customers truck was.not damaged.😊
As an old excavator a trick we used was to chain a log perpendicular to both track. It acts as a paddle. I’ve never seen it not get a dozer out of primordial ooze, pointing to where ever you want.
Hard to name. (Slide pull) Thanks for the TV show!!
Glad you guys are out there having fun.

Your skid lorded has concrete tracks. Might look at a rougher track.
