Rodri has played 170 games in 3 seasons and he won. Stop making excuses England
Maybe because he plays in a system that helps him???? Whilst rice has played similar games and played in an rubbish England side
@@figurez9184you are making excuses
To be fair it was Rodri's club manager who was promoting this entire idea of too many games when he was complaining about it not long ago.
This comments shows how you people don't even understand your own side of the argument. Rodri himself literally thinks he's played too many games. The fact you'd use someone as some sort of point when even they don't agree with you is hilarious.
Yeah I’m sure he enjoyed being subbed in the final at half time because he was cream crackered
Darragh spot on
Yeah, the English players are not tired they are just extremely overrated.
@@Cedisdead no incorrect. England have a better squad on paper than Spain and Argentina but are not a better team due to a variety of reasons. Southgate isn't completely to blame, he was let down by a couple of his big players completely out of form- Kane and Walker being the main two. Foden is also a little bit one dimensional but is literally a magician if its set up for him. Palmer is the better all court player if you will and should have started in the knockouts (Southgate again). I think England will win a major tournament but need a manager who gets the best out of the players which is not easy but Southgate should have done better.
@@Shandyboy8612 only Bellingham and maybe Kane would take a spot on the Spanish team what are you talking about? Yeah Southgate is the most successful England manager ever, but their fans are some of the worst ever.
@@Cedisdead completely disagree, England team is better on paper and most would agree. Some of the best fans ever as well I here its England v Scotland as the best fans in the world!
@@Shandyboy8612 no one would agree with a brain would say England had the better team, did you even watch the tournament? Simon is 10 x better then Pickford, Carvajal 10x Walker, Cucarella 10x Trippier, Rodri-Ruiz 10x Mainoo-Rice and Yanal-Willims 10x Saka-Foden. Sorry but only Brexit drunks would think otherwise.
The fans of England are the absolute worst tho they really do their best to sabotage for the team, and now they have scared away the only manager who brought any kind of success since Ramsay.
Twaterface can't help himself but try and talk over everyone
😂 twaterface
He is such a twaterface
Blacklivesmatterface
he has all the charisma of a rainy weekend in Bognor
Thinks he has a PhD in football
Media can’t take any criticism…. The usual
They are a bunch of sensitive souls who are appalled at the slightest criticism of themselves or their profession. This is in sharp contrast to how they treat others - they can and do launch vitriolic campaigns against people for seemingly committing the crime of having a bad game of football.
Darragh was spot on. Sam matterface with the audacity to complain about tiredness, the majority of the top players that made it into the latter rounds had played long seasons. I think we’re really seeing yet more examples a winning mentality and everyone else. The likes of modric at 38 years old, still running the brakes off younger players at one of the world’s largest clubs is testament to his desire to win. The winners in any sport go the extra mile.
The same modric that spent more time on the bench than on the field the last two seasons. Yeah the majority of top players underperformed at the euros along with the top teams. Other than Spain whose team was made up of more players not playing for the big clubs the quality of football was terrible with most games turning into a snails pace after half time because the players had no legs left.
@@Manbearpig4456 we can agree that the football wasn’t the best, but let’s take England as an example, the premier league season ended on may 19th, England didn’t play their first friendly until the 3rd june and a game on the 7th of June. Foden, walker, stones, and Kobe Mainoo played their last club games of the season on the 25th may in the Fa cup final. Bellingham played for Madrid on 1st June in the champions league final. Most of the England squad had a few weeks rest. A lot of the top players from other nations did too.
@@stewkelsall aye at 15mins a game for Madrid
@@Manbearpig4456 he avg 50mins a game with 52 matches played Including cup competitions and the euros.
Give Darragh his own show & give Matterface his P45
Matterface loves childish exchanges, always gets put back in the box.
English media wouldn't be having this argument had they won. And Darragh is spot on. Lower league players play more games on worse pitches.
Sam Matterface got schooled by Darragh!
It was great to see Darragh bring in Bellingham and Carvajal 😂 Sam Shîtty face was trying to make pathetic excuses for English players for losing the Euros and got snapped back into reality 😂
England never won the euros for them to lose it
1970's, old First Division, 46 games, small Squads, Pie,Chips and a few Pints before kick off, muddy thick Pitches , bone crunching tackles and no Rabbit food diets.
Back in the days when diving and feigning injury was considered the worst thing you could do on a football pitch - today it is regarded as a skill ffs lol
Darragh is outstanding.
No nonsense whatsoever, English pundits like Sam looking for a excuse just too piss people off which I think people like him ( Sam ) shouldn't be on air
Jack Grealish hasn't had much of an off-season...
Well he didn't really have much of an actual season either, did he?
Lmao. Brilliant and true😂😅
He was to tried to have a good season.
Maybe England could have done with him, I believe the way Southgate dealt with the grealish issue pissed off some of the squad and would say some weren’t playing for Southgate
Garbage
The most incisive, forward-pass made by England in the entire tournament was by Anthony Gordon in his 3 mins at the end of game 1 of the group stage. That was the only 3 mins he was given.
The English squad was tired because the guy in charge of picking the team played the same players every match and then refused to sub them. Its not rocket science, you win a trophy by utilising your entire squad, not just your favorites.
Tired? An appalling excuse for a team that didn't turn up.
Most if not all the teams bar Spain everyone looked dead on their feet.
@@pubtalkpubtalk4642 Your point? 😂
@Bears84 think my thread says it all to be honest, and I'm not from UK so have a different opinion, we La France were exactly the same as our commentators and journalists spoke this way.
@@pubtalkpubtalk4642 I saw your reply, not you're "thread". I don't have time for that nonsense...
The claim EPL players are too tired & play too many games is BS. If you're not good at keeping the ball like England you will get tired. It's just the media looking for excuses when England play badly and lose. The Spanish league have 2 cup competitions like England. Real Madrid, Barcelona & Sevilla have played many European finals in the last 25 years and I've never seen the Spain national team look tired once.
You don't win games by keeping the ball. That kind of thinking is outdated, induces a cowardly attitude and is one of the reasons England fails at international level. Want proof? Look at what José Mourinho said about it.
@@jbuk4369 You don't win games by just keeping the ball is true. But you have a better chance of winning if you can and you conserve energy at the same time. You let the ball do the work. Possession based teams win most of the trophies in football so I don't see how that's outdated. Especially when England haven't won anything for 58 years.
they didn't really play until the first half against holland in the semi final
Yeah you can toot the Spanish league all you want but the EPL is getting the most viewership . That’s just the way it is. If your league is so much better, then why aren’t people watching it ?
@@thaoandtony Mate, have a day off. It's clear that playing in the Premier League means nothing when it comes to winning international trophies. Would you rather people watching Burnley v Everton or the Spanish equivalent? Finding excuses for England not turning up because they controversially won a trophy 58 years ago is comedy gold. 😂
What should be looked at is how many more miles players are running within games compared to 20 years ago
But the players are fitter and have better dieticians and sports scientists than 25 years ago. So, in reality, I don't think it's any worse.
And don't forget, it is a level playing field, so an issue for england should also be happening to Spain, but it wasn't
Spot on what a guy my chairman is
When he compared Ronaldo and Rooney 🤣 that guy didn’t have a comeback
Regardless of whether people like Ronaldo or not, I don't think that any sane person can fault his dedication to his craft.
What league does Rodri and Cuqerilla play in?
The guy in the middle got cooked.
I think Jude was frustrated playing out of position and by the awful negative tactics, we saw him shout at GS in the final, christ i'd be shouting at the tv from kick off of the first game! Atrocious tactics.
We've had this for years. Just an excuse managers chuck out. If we'd spent more time passing to each other instead of booting it forward, we might find it easier.
It’s a rubbish lame excuse because the La Liga has lots of games too and many of the winning Spain players played in CL and other cups too.
It is a way to feel "good"
Darragh is top draw and knows what he’s talking about. He even put Simon in his place a few times, and he’s just destroyed matterface or whatever his name is. We need this guy on regularly.
This drives me mad, they always trot this one out. Most of the foreign players in the Tournament play in the Premier League as well.
Finally someone talking sense. Well done to Darragh calling out Matterface.
I seem to remember everyone saying england dont win because we dont have a winter break players are tired......... they get 2 weeks off in January and still using tiredness as an excuse pathetic.
Excuses excuses excuses
Its utter rubbish that they could be tired. No footballer can say rhey are tired
Anyone who has seen the gold miners of South Africa who go 2 kms underground, the heat, the heavy wagons, digging, drilling. They do this 7 hours a day for 5 days a week. For over 20 years
Tired my foot🙄🤣🏃💪
I do agree players may be playing too many games but that’s what squads and rotation is for
Spain players aren’t complaining of too many matches, they were just much better players
Players have to run much further distances now than in the past.
What they are missing is it's very much individual player specific, not League specific to whether players are fatigued. The general UK football fan doesnt know when Danny Carvahal has had a dip in form and a drop in his overall fitness during the season because we dont hear about it, nor look into it. Where as someone like Saka is heavily analysed each match for Arsenal and a dip in his fitness or form is very much brought to our attention over here in the UK. Also it depends very much on each players position, age, the style of play, what system, training regime they have as to what their fatigue levels are at the end of a season. Look at Kane, doesn't play in the PL, but he was knackered and Injured yet he is playing with a team that dominates possession with Bayern and does less running than he did for Spurs.
Funny how they went straight to Bellingham what about Foden ? That man had no goals or assists. This media is disgraceful
This argument only seems to apply to English players, Cucurella and Rodri play in the premier league, played 7 games at the Euros and just won it. It's a BS argument, plus if they are tired then you have a 26 man squad where some players hardly got a kick.
Matterface really doesn't like MacAnthony...
I couldn't agree more that premier League players are overplayed and do in fact become fatigued. A good example of this is, look at Kante from Chelsea to Saudi, he went into that French squad fit and ready to go compared to his tired and jagged look at Chelsea.
EPL players are overrated. Seeing England deride Spain national team because they had a bunch of Real Sociedad players when they're own team is ridden with Crystal Palace, Brentford and Newcastle lads is embarrassing.
What they do is train more and training is more intense.
Clubs have squads, there is plenty of opportunity to give players time off in season if it is needed
NBA Basketball players play 82 games a season minimum. Doesn't include preseason or playoffs which can be another dozen games.
MLB baseball players play 162 games in a season, that doesn't include playoffs or spring training.
It varies from player to player but not many players have the burden of Rodri.
Can’t lie the Irishman is cooking and I like how he’s getting onto twatterface 😂😂😂
Elite Darragh = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
Simon Jordan will be jealous if he sees this comment 😂
All players are tired that’s why every team in the euros were trash … apart from Spain
it's excuses with 5 minutes to go Southgate was going to bring on Tripper and Gallagher that tells you all you need to now why they lost that match
Why don’t you turn the comments off talksport like you have done o the messi video
For as long as I can remember, England always look slow and lethargic when it comes to the tournaments compared to virtually ever other team. It’s like they have had a big meal before the game. I actually think it is a mental thing. Is it mental fatigue no I don’t. I don’t think they no their playing strategy and the indecision makes them slow.
Agree. Right back to the '70s. Slow right across the back, one ball forward, back again, ad infinitum. Boring and easily defended.
That’s funny cause Rodri has been saying it for 2-3 years now, but this old bloke yea he knows better.
On average definitely less game time, but for the top teams in each league? They’re playing 25-50% more games.
Look at tottenhams games played vs leverkusen
@@nuudelz3711 well then why haven’t city’s coaching team with all their data and the depth of their squad seen it as a glaring issue?
8:02 the average sub after 75mins?? He was making subs at half time, 56th min, 65min. Yes a few late late on but not as FIRST sub. The agenda is strong against him with zero facts
All teams bar Spain, most players looked shattered but that comes with playing for a successful league team whichever country they play in.
They run 10KM every few days at most 😂
I think Sam and Alex should stay in their lanes rather than talkSPORT turning off the comment sections to avoid hurting their fee-fees
We cannot use this as an excuse. We just have to get on with it
I'd play 365 games a year for £200k a week.
The Algarve is the best place to train !
A excellent manager gets the job done period
England were qualified after two games but if they didn’t win the group and went to the other side of the draw they were going out round of 16
The England national team coach has legitimately 35-40 premier league players to choose from so if we’re always going to use this argument of tiredness after a long season, we need to start selecting players that miss a large portion of the season and will therefore be physically fresh come tournament time? 🤷🏻♂️
To win the league now you have to be perfect. To win pretty much any trophy you have to be perfect. Of course all of these players can play 60+ games a season but they can't have a single % drop in their performance because it will be punished. Liverpool in recent years have been almost perfect and won 1 league title. In years gone by that would be enough to make them unstoppable. The games moved on. To maintain this level the players need more breaks. I'm not sure on injury stats but I'm almost certain this intensity and this many games is seeing more injuries for longer periods.
It’s not about the number of games, it’s the amount of rest that is the issue.
I have said that for years. This was true in the season in the world cup in Qatar but aside from that it's not true. Furthermore if you want less games u get less money as well. Lots of people around the world have harder jobs with far less pay and they have to do it anyways. Footballers complain too much sometimes
Who's "you" ?
I have worked laborers jobs. It's different. A muscle isn't going to tear from any of my work randomly.
Declan Rice tho is super exhausted he plays for Arsenal nonstop amd Southgate played him 90 mins even in friendlies! He still does so well givds it his all but he is tired needs a break
Rodri has missed 4 games since he arrived 4 years ago, and when you think how far City go in most competitions either finals or semis.
Agreed, Cucurella and Rodri looked very tired!!!!
Wonder who financed that study 😂…
0:44 average… average. Teams like city Arsenal Man U Chelsea Liverpool go deep in competitions and most internationals come from the top4-6 clubs and are all playing 52-60 games a year
Matterface what utter claptrap, we are told and shown to great lengths what incredible numbers these 'elite' players put up every season. Then said players will do as much media duties telling us how much they look forward to the biggest competitions in world football.....nobody is saying footballers don't get tired and run down if they are putting alot of effort in. But and it's a big butt they are Commodities packed and sold to us (paid handsomely) on the ticket of producing extraordinary moments....which is fine when you are winning
Minutes and schedule
That's what you get when you sell out to Oil states, Americans and TNT..And btw, 80% of prem players are overhyped especially the british players
Bellingham was knackered coz he spent most of the game chasing shadows about in our own hald and trying to cover Harry Kane's position
I mean if your going to the final of tournament whilst competing for every trophy you'd say that's a alot of games
Teams who win stuff will play more, But a Prem Side who dropped out of the cups in there opening gang would only play 40
Money doesn't mean they will be less tired.
Man denies irrefutable facts and gets lauded by a load of derpy clapping seals.
- There are more post regular season games than there has ever been.
- There are more European competitions and games available to play than there has ever been
- Injury times are longer
- The ball is in play longer
- The intesity of the game is far higher
There are zero coherent arguments against this. Bringing up money or which players complain or don't complain isn't an argument.
Guess what mate, the other leagues have the same amount of games if not more because they make it to the latter stages of Europe
@@Youafool500 And?
If certain players are tired then rest them. That's what a squad is for 😂 It's not rocket science
Darrah is a top guest every time… 3 days next week 💪🏻
Does this take into account the increase in extra time?
' He's Dirty Tree ' 😄
They want to make excuses for England bottling the Euros typical
Daarghs billocks are bigger than Christmas
A crowded schedule and too many games are 2 different things.
Hilarious 3 non players discussing if players play too much! 😂
Can't take the money and expect to do less. Darragh is correct, and with all the medical advances and diets, and they do get enough rest it is up to the players to take care of their bodies.
They play waaay more minutes now, too much stupid extra time, like people have nothing else to do.
Why's it only the English prem players? Rodri won the whole thing. And why is it prem? Didn't Xhaka play pretty much every game he good this season? He looked fresh enough
I don’t buy it either. Even playing three games a week should be doable when that’s there only job.
God forbid they had to do a proper weeks work. Molly coddled millionaires 👎
6:07 "Darta" what the hell is darta? does he mean data?
What's the alternative... give them a Month off then they come back overweight and unfit... and will be more prone to injuries
I hate eveything about sam his face his voice his second name man is an absolute dope
Love Darragh, takes the most common sense of anyone, the fitness argument is bullshit.
Darragh is one of those dinosaurs that believes if you earn a certain amount of money a year, it's not possible to have the mental condition depression, because his da was a coal miner who worked 80 hours a week down the pit🥴
The problem is the players are simply average
The england player are to tired look at all the rest of the teams in the tournaments.fresh. and. seem to have more energy..if they haven't one for so long what else can it be.
I guess all these top managers who consistently say players are knackered don’t have a clue I guess.
The number of games isn’t the problem. The gaps between seasons isn’t long enough. The players get a couple of weeks off and usually it’s not even that as there’s only 1 year in every 4 there isn’t a major tournament.
Look at the horrendous injury records we had last season. Newcastle, Chelsea, United, Liverpool etc with regularly 10+ players out through injury.
The argument ‘well they’re getting well paid’ isn’t valid. Being well paid is not going to stop you being fatigued or getting injured because your legs are heavy.
Because the PL is so competitive, there are no off days. You play every 2/3 days basically all year round. Leagues like Germany, Spain etc have less competitively so players aren’t going 100% all the time.
Fans either need to accept much higher injury records or players underperforming because they’re fatigued or accept less games. You can’t have both.
Rodri has played more games in last 3 seasons than any English player! His team won no?
Based on your argument then Bellingham shouldn’t be tired cause he plays in Spain 🤡🤡 but he himself said he tired.
@@mr__OK I’m talking about in general. Bellingham’s team went to the CL final and played more games than the average Spanish side.
@@mr__OK then again it’s clear you’re about 12 years old if you’re using clown emojis in your comments. Grow up.
My heart bleeds for them. Try working 40 hours a week in a labouring job
The other 2 should have just said can we discuss something interesting fella😂
😮 Dont they train 2 hours a day and play about two 90 min games a week and if you add that up its 15 hours a week they work 😂😢😢 cry me a river
Looool wow is this what we doing now since we lost . Embarrassing
Chelsea players got injured without playing competitive football
ther technically inferior as a group compered to th best teams if they wernt they would have more than 35%possesion and they would be able to control possesion like the best

They are well recompensed for playing football, ffs.
Playing Football is a privilege not a job.
