I don't think that's a crazy suggestion. Klopp is out of work, wanted time away from the 24-7 pressure that comes with managing a top club. An International job might appeal to him at this stage of his career, a bit more work/life balance than comes with a club job. Sign a contract to see England through the next World Cup then take it from there.

Everyone wants Howe to take the job because they know he is very capable of, and I am confident he will take Newcastle to the very top of European football...and folk don't want that to happen. He loves the day-to-day coaching job too much to take on an England role where he gets to coach players for a few days every couple of months, then a couple of weeks every few years.

Darragh MacAnthony is spot on with his take on Eddie Howe's position...Eddie will want to achieve something with Newcastle first and it's absolute nonsense to factor in the 'what if's' of maybe getting sacked! The England job will come up again and Eddie will be ready in eight/ten years time...

People go on about the players earning millions, the managers are earning them too. The top managers deserve it, but then the dross gets their wages enhanced by the top level. A lot don't deserve it.
England job is the type of job you go for when you're facing relegation and you've been hired. Best you can hope for is a D grade manager
Gareth Southgate, Eddie Howe, Graham Potter, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, between them in English Top Flight football have won 0 trophies. Yet the FA Had no Interest in appointing an English Manager who won 2 Top Flight/Premier League Titles, one with a Team fresh from promotion, and Back to Back Champions League Titles. Every Year that passes by the Non Appointment of Brian Clough & Peter Taylor by England becomes more Baffling.

When Southgate took on the England job, he was the same age as Eddie Howe is now. His salary at Newcastle is also less than what the FA paid Southgate. Also, Southgate won nothing at club football, and was able to fail forward in u21 and the seniors. I still expect it to be Potter.
Kane is one of the best strikers in the world who went into this tournament with an injury. It's on Southgate for persisting with him when it was obvious to everyone that he wasn't fully fit.

Hard to take Matterface seriously after his over the top commentary reaction to England beating Netherlands in the semi final. He acted like we had just beaten Brazil 5-0 in a World Cup final.
they'll employ someone with no backbone and does as he's told. Klopp and Pep would want total control and run the show, so they don't stand a chance.
Should Eddie Howe get the England job he'll be the first people's choice since Kevin Keegan in 1999 (nobody asked for Ericsson, McLaren, Capello, Hodgson, Allardyce or Southgate).
Klopps football wont work in that heat.

The only reason I can see klopp taking the England job is because it would make him a literal legend if he won something.

I think the most Howe can achieve with NUFC is to win cups. PL and CL will take years to happen. So the question is. Do you prefer to win an FA cup with Newcastle or a trophy with England? Would go for the latter.

Makes me hang my head when people start talking about wanting Pep and Klopp. Let’s flip it and think what Germany or Spain would do if an Englishman was in line to take their national job…the push back would be huge. I want the best man for the job but if the players have to be English then the manager should be…and in this instance Howe is the most appealing.

@@james.butler. the Spanish coach isn’t an elite coach. He just went through the process of international teams under 17s 21s then full. Maybe that’s where we’re going wrong there is no quick fix for this but a foreign coach is not the answer in my opinion.

I’m a Chelsea fan and I want Klopp, I love Klopps personally, he’s a winner, and also, he’s developed a few of these English players, so he’s already got an advantage knowing how to use some of these amazing players and upcoming players. Don’t forget he’s given so many English youngsters from the Liverpool academy that are likely to be apart of the set up in the non to distant future their debuts and progressed them through the Liverpool first team, to me, Klopp has to be the one we put all our eggs into the basket to get.

100% Kane is not retiring from England any time soon, he will want to cement that goal record in. Also when fit he is still a world class striker, crazy to judge him on 7 games instead of the 50 odd for Bayern last season.
