A manager at Manchester United has to deal with big players, sometimes hostile press, a face of the club for global fans and now a demanding board level members. Besides football expertise, he must have the aura and charisma, sometimes fear from his players. I like Ten Hag, he’s a decent coach. Bar this season results, I don’t think he’s the stature of a United manager. At most he will be the one before the One.
@@gary83uk if a manager does not have the fear factor, it's just a matter of time before indiscipline crept into and affect performance. Ole was on a tremendous winning streak, didn't he ?

This is about the fact that Man Utd and there fans simply cannot accept and are still in denial that they are not the force they once was. They were blessed and so very lucky to have the greatest manager of all time at the helm, to make them the most successful club in English football, one of the biggest clubs in the world, but it was always going to be the impossible job for anyone to follow on with the success. The fact is that nowadays so many managers want to build there own legacy, any manager coming to Man Utd will always be judged against Sir Alex, they would have to win more than Sir Alex to be anointed Man Utd's greatest manager, how long would that take in the modern game. Pep Guardiola wanted to create his own legacy and Man City came at the right time, Mourinho went to Man Utd in an attempt to rebuild his legacy as a great manager not necessarily to equal Sir Alex but to win a few major trophies and then move on, but that didn't work out although it looks like his tenure there was something Man Utd fans now realise was as good as anything they have had since Sir Alex in terms of league finishes and trophies won. I don't get Man Utd's obsession with Dutch managers, the Dutch make great players, but poor managers, there are some exceptions to the rule, but really not many. I never understood how when OGS came in and he won the first 11 games in charge playing like Man Utd of old, and then for some reason they went to playing a different way which ultimately was his downfall, why, why did they not continue like when he first came in, bizarre.
To me the question is not if he will last till the end of season, but rather if he can turn things around before Christmas. And from what I have seen, you can give him all the time in the world and he won't play any better. I really hope he proves me wrong though 😢
Thanks it was BS, a brilliant statement. Who was the last manager to win a league title for Man Utd...if your telling me the Man Utd fans aren't throwing there toys out Ferdinand, Scholes, Neville, Keane, Rooney, Hargreaves , listening to them bang on about the good old days, but Man Utd fans are still living there too. Move on its 2024, your best matches ate mid table games, your top six aspirations are done for many years yet, you've got at least another 10-15 years to restart because you've still got the era of Sir Alex still lingering
While i agree with most of what you said, neither of you watched either brighton or bournemouth if you think the performances have been terrible, should of went in 2-1 up against brighton and bournemouth we absolutely outplayed for 80 mins bothe results where ultimately on a manager who is scared to come up with a different solution when problems arise

Ten Hag first season unbeaten at home best defence in the prem Cup and 3rd Second season no defender's 8th and a cup Should tell you something. Just give him time, it's no shock united lost against Liverpool the team is a team
Its the other way around. Because what does it say about the development under Ten Hag when we drop from 3rd to 8th, out of Europe completely before christmas, being in the easiest CL group ever. And no players have really developed under him, maybe accept Dalot who is now average. He is on his 3rd season and 700 million spended. And some fans want to keep him 🤣
