I was born in 1961 Marc Bolan and T-Rex were the first band I ever followed. Marc introduced me to music. I saved my pocket money to buy 'Ride a White Swan' and also a T-Rex t-shirt.
Oh how sweet and symbolic is the tiny plaque of Marc's Parents, they are altogether now how very beautiful. I remember when Marc sadly lost his life in 1977 a time that will always live with me. Marc was a pure genius. The words to his songs are gorgeous. He personified pure love.
Died 1 month after elvis presley. When Elvis died, Marc Bolan said "I certainly hope I don't pop off in the next few weeks as I'll only get page 3 coverage." He died a month later in a road accident. 😮
Thanks Paul, it is sad that such a rare young talent shoul be wiped out so quickly. Marc had the most amazing voice and was truly innovative musically. His music was just as exciting and new in the same way as David Bowies was. Completely mesmerising on tv, he had an unforgettable smile. So sad that he was taken so young. How much music has been lost because Marc was not here to create and perform it? Hopefully still rocking in Heaven! 💔
I was born in 1961, T-Rex was the first band to introduce me to a love of music. Marc was a true trail blazer, I still love his music to this day. Thank you T-Rex.
Oh man, I just loved the 70's. Love Glam Rock. Marc was just so talented. Seen a lot of youtubers cover the crash site. But this is nicer. I don't really want to see where he lost his life . Thank you Paul, so beautifully covered , as usual .
I'm gutted I missed this! What a legend, taken far too young and WOW, that's a beautiful bench! Brought a tear to my eye, especially when you read out that his parents are reunited with him! God bless them all! Lovely advice at the end Paul, thank you! One of my favourite quotes to live by is from Bruce Lee, the famous water quote. For anyone who doesn't know the quote: "Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water. Now, you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend." If we try to adapt to our surroundings and circumstances like water adapts to anything it's poured into, and make the best out of bad situations, with perseverance we can make the impossible possible. As Audrey Hepburn once said "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says "I'm possible!".
Nice vid! actually been to Golders Green Crematorium back in 2013 on a still snowy day...very dickensian. Visited Marc's plaque (can't remember the chair being there then) and many others which are there! RIP Marc.
I loved Marc Bolan when I was a child and remember my mum being so upset when he died 😢 Just above and to the left of the wall plaque tribute to Marc, I noticed a brief glimpse of a plaque dedicated to the singer Steve Conway. My grandmother loved his music. She went to as many of his performances as she could and was always so sad that he died aged only 31 in 1952 💔
Fabulous tribute. My favourite road trip is driving across Ireland with my T Rex music playing & me singing along like a mad one ... I was too young to appreciate him as a teen but discovered him in my 20s.
Yes think it’s a choker ,has always upset me when I think of sad end of Marc bolan, try to cheer up when I hear his music he was as great as Bowie .thankyou paul .they must not be forgotten.
Could you imagine how many of these brilliant people would have been here today without drink and drugs. Taken too young😟. Brill again bud!! Love the positivity!!!
What a beautiful bench as a tribute to Marc. Seeing his name alongside his parents is very moving. It is specially poignant that he lived such a short life and his music had just achieved such recognition when he crashed.
Imagine how his already glittering career would have unfolded and what lay ahead. You might use his mate David Bowie as a benchmark, also there's a clear shot of Rod Stewart in the funeral footage. Had Bolan lived he'd be 75 right now. The likes of Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart etc. are still performing and have stellar legacies behind them. Perhaps Bolan might have been the same.
T.Rex, my absolute favourite band. I wouldn't even need to hear a song before I bought. I just needed the release date. So lucky that I saw them live just the once at the Lyceum in the Strand, London in 1976.
Marc Bolan was the first live music that I saw. I was about 13 years old. Have several T-Rex albums and just loved his music. I remember being heartbroken when he died. Thank you for this one. RIP Marc.
Taking me back to my happiest time in my life here Paul, loved that time in the 70s,where everyone seemed to have a smile on there faces. Loved t rex, and all the music at that time. I think it was mostly happy fun dancing music.
I watched the Top Gun Maverick film last night and was delighted to hear a Marc track being played in the bar scene in the film, his music lives on! God bless xx
I was seven years old when Marc sadly passed , & i can still remember it today . Yes i am a massive T-REX fan and still blast the tunes from my car today .... God bless Marc ... Thank you Paul for another great video
I was 9 years old when T/Rex played in Rotherham Clifton Park in 1971 and listened in bed to him singing Ride a white Swan. What a beautiful memorial bench with a swan. RIP Mark, Thank you Paul beautifully covered.
I was at school the the days after the crash the teacher stopped the lessons to pay respect to him and his music we all sat there in silence..a first...now looking back I get it the loss of a talent it's almost like he said have this great music now I have to go...legend..
I had seen the crash site previously , and the plaques but first time seeing that beautifully carved bench , thanks for showing this to us Paul and taking the time at the end to reassure people who are on their own or having a bad day .
T.rex music hasnt dated it still sounds great til.this day in fact ....get it on was on the radio today ......thier greatest hits a must ....🎵👍💿 anyhow ...i think the bench and plaque are superb A great tribute ....
I remember that day.. the newspaper came and it was such a shock.. his car was splashed over the front page.. of course in those days us kids didn't watch the news..I loved the plaque and the seat was amazing.. after all the years gone by and still he has a great following xx r.i.p. Marc.. Paul. This was so beautiful and well presented xx
And you've done it again and stirred some lovely memories of Marc Bolan never to be forgotten. We lived for a while in Stoke Newington in the 70s and Marc Bolan's boyhood home was just across Stoke Newington Green from us - occupied by our friends' daughter. Our little ones played together and it was a privilege to be there. Of course he was still alive then and she used to get girls hanging about outside thinking he still lived there. Funny but a nuisance sometimes!

Marc Bolan one of the most talented musicians I was a kid when he was alive I heard him when I was like 10 years old.. It's a shame he died so tragically. Many thanks for the video clip Greetings from Germany (Wiesbaden)
Mark was way ahead of his time, great singer and song writer and if you listened to some of his songs he predicted his own death, so sad and I think still as popular today,, RIP MARK.. Thanks Paul..
I was always a fan of Marc's . When I heard of his passing , it was like time had stood still . ( He wasn't very far from home when the crash happened ) Had he survived , I wonder what other musical treats he would have given us ? I think the best tribute , is to keep listening to his music . Nicely said and presented , Paul . RIP , Marc .
Just catching up with your channel ..Wow glad U didn't miss this . I remember running home from School to watch his TV show every week. Still play his songs. Lost a legend and so young . 😪
His bench is lovely what a nice place to go and sit and remember him. Totally agree it's who you surrounded yourself with friends and family that will keep you going when times are hard. Thank you for another video.
Hi Paul lovely video, what an Amazingly Swan bench in selabration of Marc Bolan. It's so sad that he died so young, I enjoyed his music as a teenager and still listen to it today. thanks paul for another great show, yes marc bolan was taken from us far to soon from my childhood to now his music is so much loved,my elder brother served a term in the royal artillery, and the day he came home he bought home with him a record for me which was telegram sam,so the memories paul will go on forever and marc's music today still gets people on the dance floor what a guy marc was,R.I.P Marc and thanks for music it will be with us forever
Yes, I did … Steve Conway was a lovely ballad crooner and a favourite of my gran … Keith Moon 🤪legendary and very talented drummer who was not destined to live to old age 💔🤘🏻
I remember when T-Rex were in the charts and when Marc died. I was only a child but do remember. We did some old T-Rex songs in my old band... great musician and song writer. Another excellent video, Paul. Thank you mate.
Went to see Marc's grave 2 years ago it was always my intention to go there when i got the chance I've been a Bolan fan since 1970 and when my daughter moved to London, i took the opportunity to visit Golders Green cemetery, and sat on that bench which gave me a great feeling keep a little Marc in your heart.
We, his fans, who loved him and continue to do so, poured our love through you fingers, which so gently touched his marker. I had tears in my eyes when you did that. Thank you for taking us to him. X
Brilliant again Paul...I am a major t.rex fan..ive visited the crash site..the tree and shrine humbling...that is...he embraced punk rock..and even invited the damned to support him on tour!!!...legend..all the best Hammergazz👍
Big fan of Marc bolan and T rex very sad especially when you showed where his ashes are layed to rest along with his parents. Thankyou Paul for another great video 👍
such a shame how marc died. rip marc. you go to some beautiful places paul. thankyou for all you do for the ones of us that cannot travel for what ever private reasons :)
In my opinion Bolan and T Rex were unique. Even to this day, I can't think of any other big artists who sound similar or produce similar material. That is also the first time I've seen the footage of the wrecked car and of his funeral. Sadly car accidents in those days were usually horrific. No safety features whatsoever - no crumple zones or airbags, no ABS, solid window glass (not like more modern shatterables), and despite seatbelts being fitted to new cars by law since 1965 they weren't compulsory to actually wear until 31st January 1983. But it's so nice to see people who actually care, taking great love and pride in preserving the various memorials to him. A unique talent who died literally two weeks shy of his 30th birthday and who seemed to have a glittering future ahead of him. Being best friends with the legendary Bowie, it would have been fascinating to compare their respective careers as time passed. Maybe they would have done a lot of work together.
What? I can't believe it.😯 Just when I wanted to ask you if you could visit Boley's final resting place, it shows up in my notifications. Been there many times, as I was a member of the official T. REX Fan Club. But I haven't seen this for about 30 years. A lot has changed, so thanks a lot for updating me. Great job!!! ❤️🙏❤️ Rock on🙌🌟🙌
This is my era, i had a beautiful poster of Marc on my bedroom wall, i was at school when he was killed, others and myself cried. I still find it unreal xx
I remember the day Marc died , its was such a tragedy, if you watched Marc's interview on the Russel Harty Show he said that he dosent think he will have a long life. But the thing that made me cry more than ever was the interview with his ex-wife [June]. She explained that during their divorce meetings with their solicitors , they sat in the toilet together crying and eating a digestive biscuit thinking about how it all what went wrong while their legal teams fought over Marc's estate .its my understanding that Marc was ripped off by so many people who were involved with looking after his money etc - Thanks once again Paul ." Marc Bolan was indeed a 20th Century Boy "
Very much my era I was 15 in 1970 I remember them top on top of the pops with mickey finn on the bongo drums rip Marc, another fantastic video you were very reflective at thd end and you said many a true word well said Paul, brilliant.
Mrs H ....I remember Marc Bolan's death cos it was another shock as a month before Elvis died... I was 10 yrs old at the time and those two deaths where always talked about... Teens where crying over both losses and in my home both Elvis &Marc's music was played daily.... 💔
I was born in 1961 Marc Bolan and T-Rex were the first band I ever followed. Marc introduced me to music. I saved my pocket money to buy 'Ride a White Swan' and also a T-Rex t-shirt.
Great tribute. Bolan still rocks today listen to the hits from 1971/2/3. Genius and very influential!
Taken too young, he had so much talent🌹
Great man is Paul to show us all these famous people's resting places, what a wonderful man he is, loads of respect for him
I'm a big marc bolan fan. I'm now 65 and still listening to T.Rex. thank you for posting this lovely memorial. x

Yeah, I remember that quote. Such a Marc thing to say! 😁 Miss them both. Gone too soon...😏
So sad❤
No way unbelievable
So many big names died in 77
Marc did knock opera singer Maria Callas from the front page news of the day.
Thanks Paul, it is sad that such a rare young talent shoul be wiped out so quickly. Marc had the most amazing voice and was truly innovative musically. Great video. Very talented guy and a tragic ending. Great songs as well.
His bench is lovely what a nice place to go and sit and remember him. Totally agree it's who you surrounded yourself with friends and family that will keep you going when times are hard. Thank you for another video.
Great video, thank you. Thank you also for caring about people who are lonely x
another musical LEGEND taken so cruelly at a young age
always keep ur chin up Paul
Another great respectful clip
Hi Paul lovely video, what an Amazingly Swan bench in selabration of Marc Bolan. It's so sad that he died so young, I enjoyed his music as a teenager and still listen to it today.
Looking back the glam rock era was Incredible such an amazing time for music if only it could make a comeback! But I suppose the people that made it all possible are on longer with us.
What a super guy you are too Paul….real comforting, sensible words to people watching at the end there…your right, my mother used to say “ there are no pockets in shrouds”, so we come with nothing, we leave with nothing except our memories. Life is what we make it, it doesn’t come to us, we have to get out there and find it. So many plaques there to people gone before, but it was a really beautiful bench in tribute to Marc ( someone needs to put some wood preservative on it as it’s cracking with age, but best left to whoever put it there or the cemetery people. Too beautiful to lose”. It was a strangely emotional visit..,I felt it too, in particular when I saw his parents had both died in the same year 1991, and that they were all together again. I personally don’t believe in death…I’m certain this is just a small part of our souls time, to be spent learning here, before going “into the next class” as it were..moving up all the time, but reuniting with loved ones and friends in the next stage. Life goes by so fast, especially when your older, that there has to be more. I like to think that Marc and David Bowie have met again and are making great music together again. Bless you Paul…your brilliant at taking us to these lovely peaceful places and telling us all about the person we are visiting. I hope it doesn’t bring your own mood down, by doing so, as I know from experience that it can. Take care! Stay healthy and happy! Godbless! Love Helen in NFK 🙋♀️😘👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cheers Helen, I’m all good thanks 🙏
Thank you Paul.

A legend sadly missed.
Did anyone else notice the plaques to Keith Moon and Steve Conway on the wall?
Yes, I did … Steve Conway was a lovely ballad crooner and a favourite of my gran … Keith Moon 🤪legendary and very talented drummer who was not destined to live to old age 💔🤘🏻
Great content Paul, so sad.
In my early 20s I regarded Marc Nolan with immature Jealousy....he was what I always wanted to be...but wasn't. RIP...and thank you.
I was only 12 when Marc died still miss him RIP Marc 😎 A lovely video

Kay well said
thank you from a fan that loved him from the very beginning Marc Bolan
Made a playlist of T. Rex' greatest hits only last week....still sends shivers down my spine that we lost the very beautiful Mr Bolan so young ...
Such a sad loss to the music industry, he was a great artist.
In my opinion Bolan and T Rex were unique. Even to this day, I can't think of any other big artists who sound similar or produce similar material. That is also the first time I've seen the footage of the wrecked car and of his funeral.

Your comments are so honest and true
