- The Real estate exam has two sections, the state part for the state you are in and the national (General) part.
In order to get your license you must pass both parts!
Before taking the test you are required to take a course with the amount of hours required for your state. For me it was 40 hours. Once I took the class and got my certificate I was free to go ahead and schedule my exam!
I used the "Guide to Passing the Pearson Vue Real Estate exam" 8th edition textbook for the National (General) Part
For the state (Massachusetts) portion I used the Massachusetts Real estate laws text book
I recommend dissecting whatever textbook you choose to use and doing as many practice exams as possible within a 2-3 week range!
Good luck!
I am in Boston too!! passed my exam the first time!! :) excellence to both of us!
congrats my love :-)
Philistar A. Bonyo-Ba Congrats

congrats for passing girl!! I'm havin such a tough time with national!! failed it 3x. going again tomorrow! 4th times a charm right?1?!?!?! lol ugh
Congrats on passing!! I live in Rhode Island and am finishing my last day of the required course this upcoming Thursday. My instructors suggest that everyone schedule their test 2 weeks after completing our class, but I'm not sure that'll give me enough time to retain everything. It'll be nice to pass on the first attempt.
Hey Rell! How is everything did you schedule the test? Study your ass off and focus just on the practice questions. Learn to understand and not to memorize and you will be fine.
MissRhane scheduled for the end of August. I try to get at least an hour of studying in a day, so hopefully it all works out.
Congrats
Congratulations,
What's the title off you Book ?
Congratulations

i have the national book you have .. guide to passing the pearson vue exam -- and its great book ... Im assuming its all I need for the national portion of it.......I also have massachusetts real estate practice and law .. do you know if that one is enough for the state portion???? your feedback is appreciated
Yes the mass state law book helped a lot that's actually the portion I passed with no problem. Good luck.
Are you still in the real estate game if so how are you doing
Royce Wingo I’m in Washington DC I just got my license here as well but work on a 720 unit property currently
Congrats! &Hey where did you do your courses?
Thank you, I took my course in somerville, mass at the boston metropolitan real estate school on Broadway .. The instructor is super funny and informative! Check out their website of you can or groupon for a deal on the class if that works better expense wise
+MissRhane Thanks a lot ! That's really close to my house actually. I have almost no related knowledge should I do some reading before starting?
+Keem Grey ok yeah go on groupon get the deal if you can and no just go to the class and he provides a book and another one you can buy ..
hi im in tremendous need of help like do i focus on the practice test in the book? also qill the state test let u know what u got wrong to fix it next time if u fail? whats the highest i need to pass and what main questions they as k
The Chosen Ones I highly advise you to do the practice questions. I made sure I got the minimum of 5 questions wrong on each practice test. The actual test is just PASS or fail, they will print out a graph like paper and tell you what areas to work on. I believe you need a 70 to pass. Kevin ward on TH-cam helped a lot with things to remember. What state are you in?
MissRhane im in pa
Im currently enrolling in real estate classes and I wanted to know is the math difficult and have you found clients now that you are licensed? I wonder how this will work for me as a african american women in this industry.
Hey ! the math is basic math and the book you study out of should cover everything. Yes of course I get clients its all about advertising, being friendly and following up with people who reach out. Social media is a big advantage we have at the moment. PPL LIVE on social media! haha.
Pick the right office one with support and opportunity for growth. Good luck!!
Can I borrow your book ?
