This UK that I live in is too judgmental! if you're in the UK please don't stop yourself from being who you truly are because those same people who are judging are just scared to be themselves.
I know what you mean by people trying to humble you. They call it 'Tall Poppy Syndrome' where, if society sees you succeeding in something or at least trying to succeed, they will cut you down and accuse you of thinking that you're better than them. I think they are just jealous. If you're different from the mainstream you are judged harshly. I should know, I am autistic and have never really fit in anywhere, but I like to do my own thing. And I wish people could feel more free here.
It’s literally just jealousy instead of supporting each other to be the best versions of themselves they would rather bring others down because they’re miserable in their own little world.
Yeah, Nigeria isn't perfect, but it's paradise compared to Afghanistan and Sudan, and for a lot of people it's probably a better place to live than England.
i just got back from hong kong after living there for a couple of months (little background 19 year old black uni student) and it was so freeing .. Everyone wore whatever they wanted and no one batted a eyelid , being ‘weird’ was encouraged and most ‘young people ‘ that you would meet were just good vibesss . That being said i think living in london forces you to be you even more in a way .. As you get to a point where you truly truly have to stop caring and focus on what matters to you .. hopefully any of that made sense what I am trying to say is stay true to you and put yourself first (even if that means relocating 😭) loved the videooo
I’m not from the UK, but i’ve lived there for a year and i visit often because my dad works there. I’ve noticed that British youth are such bullies. Everyone’s trying to one up the other, the rudest comments on TikTok have the top likes, people try soo hard to humble you for no reason even when you ARE being humble. Even as a guy, you’re expected to conform to whatever trend is going on, whether it’s wearing tech fleece, listening to rap drill etc. (this is mostly in Black British culture). And if you don’t conform, you’re called a “batty boy” and singled out so badly. Honestly, this all probably stems from the coping mechanism of bearing living in the island.
@alisalman5917...I get you bro but there is no such thing ''Black British culture'' its just a superficial mismatch of Jamaican cultural expressions, American urban/pop culture with local British elements nothing deep to be even called BBCulture. People in the UK who use this term alot are often Carribean British people who feel they have developed ''some new unique'' culture in the UK. Think about which culture even calles itself ''blk''. You dont see Asians in the UK say oh ''we have Yellow British culture'' because our roots happen to be Chinese, Filipino, Malaysian or Korean.
@@onlineonlineaccount2368 i do agree with you to an extent actually. You don’t say south asians calling their culture “brown” or anything. But you have to agree that there are shared customs mostly among black youth in major cities. It mostly comes from people who were never taught to love their culture growing up. That’s why a lot of black teens are pressured into conforming into listening to specific music, wearing specific clothes with a specific colour, wear specific makeup, speak a specific way etc . THAT is my point, that there’s no individuality whatsoever, and when you stray afar from these customs, you’re called “whitewashed”, batty boy, etc
@@alisalman5917 100% i hear you bro and agree with your point. You hit the nail on the head with your point of many Carribeans and especially Africans in the UK in 2nd and 3d generation not being thought to love, respect and value their own unique cultures. Instead many have conformed to American-pop culture/hip hop/urban culture and speak of it as if its ''THA CULTURE'' ! as alot youngins say these days. The make it seem as if street american culture is theirs aswell. And if you don't want anything to do with they call you as you said battyboy, coconut, bounty, badger, you aint a real one and all that nonsense.
This topic is tired. It’s the same for everywhere not just the UK you just haven’t fully lived or explored elsewhere. For you it’s bad vibes because of what you see/where you hang out etc. Yes people judge/envy each other but you’re acting as if this only happens here. And you can’t talk about uk black girl aesthetic when you look no different on your insta page. If I see something another girl is wearing or of course I’ll buy the same thing. Even with makeup. We all influence each other in some way. It’s getting boring now it’s just constant complaining. There’s the baddie aesthetic in the US don’t you not think some people judge over there? More girls are wearing bone straight wigs in Nigeria because it’s trending. The uk black girl aesthetic is trending. So let people hop on trends and wear what they want. You talking about people dressing the same is you judging and being a bad vibe. Talk about something better. Go somewhere else if you’re tired.
If it’s tired my dear you could’ve kept scrolling. I’ve mentioned how I tried to fit in with the aesthetic and eventually I realised it wasn’t for me. You going all the way to my insta page was a waste of time.i spoke for the ones that can relate and people who always leave comments like these are the ones who are usually triggered, influenced (nothing wrong with being influenced)and are the “bad vibes” I speak about. If you know it doesn’t apply to you, don’t stress yourself. Some people in the UK have confessed to this and even feel more free in other countries to be themselves without being too judged the way they are here in the UK and I’m just one of them that’s expressing that to THOSE who can relate. Ofcourse I want I want to leave, majority of us who feel the bad vibes want to leave but unfortunately things don’t happen overnight. Sorry if I offended you🙏🏿
the worst in the UK is that everybody starts to judge u and try make u feel bad make u feel bad cpompetetion they all lyers al the same, same thing different day, they wake up and choose to waste their time on making othrs feel bad
Agree with all your points. Just some friendly advice: please hold the microphone further away or turn the sensitivity down because the whooshing sound when the sound peaks is quite distracting. Keep up the good work.
There are billions of people in the world that aren't even able to make a video like this because they're either too poor to have internet access or technology, or they'd be punished by their authoritarian governments for their use of free speech. Saying you 'HATE' the UK sounds like someone who is foreign to true struggle, you need to recognise you've won the lottery by having the opportunity to live here. Also I'm sure other countries have these issues, the UK isn't especially like this.
Everyone has complaints about the country they live in. What you’ve just written about those who don’t have internet access or being poor and whatever you’ve written has nothing to with this video. It’s simply about people who make the UK negative. If you can’t relate you should’ve kept scrolling my dear.
Tbh I’ve been wanting to get out of the UK for a while for other reasons too cos I wanted to go and explore other countries and decide which country I want to leave long term.
Don't worry about it. Some people love to fit in. For other people trying to fit in crushes their spirit. To be fair those mean girls sound horrible. Maybe try going to different places and mix with white people and other communities. UK isn't that small but if you only stay amongst black people it is very small.
@mistereuro...London is not just a city its a also w administrative region where city of London is the city. You also have other cities in the London region
I hate when you guys use that card. Just because someone’s complaining about a specific aspect of a country doesn’t mean they want to automatically leave. And even if they did, you make it sound like it’s an easy task. This is the only counter argument y’all use when faced with the slightest of criticisms, it’s so weak.
People go through REAL issues day in day out. You are just ranting over small little things Also everything you have said is in your mind so stop being paranoid Also if that is how you talk about hating the uk to everyone then they will not want to be around you or watch you on media platforms, it take long time and a lot of grafting for years to get to a certain place where you want to be Just be great full you live in a decent country that has keep ped you alive othe people in other countries wound love and I mean absolutely would love

Sounds more like UK black culture than UK culture
The grass ain't greener on the other side, its the same shi everywhere ...
The worst thing about UK girl aesthetic is when you're authentic I get called 'weird' within my own community wtf... damn
