    DRINK SPIKING AND INJECTION SPIKING:
Drink spiking is putting drugs or alcohol into someone's drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) without their knowledge or consent. It often happens in pubs, bars, nightclubs and house parties, and motives include sexual assault and theft.
There are worrying trends of needle spiking also. This is different from drink spiking as the drugs that are usually put into your drinks are injected. This means that symptoms of spiking appear quicker and are sometimes much worse.
It can be very difficult to tell if a drink has been spiked, as substances used for spiking usually have no taste, odour or colour. They can be placed into drinks when they're being prepared or while you are distracted.
The effects of drink spiking can vary. Side effects depend on how much substance has been added, the weight and pre-existing medical conditions of the victim, and whether alcohol has already been consumed.
Drink spiking can make someone appear more drunk than usual, confused, dizzy or nauseous. It can also lead to losing consciousness or a severe hangover the next day, and potentially gaps in memory.
If you suspect your drink has been spiked, or that of a friend, you should report it immediately. Tell someone working in the bar you are in, then report it to the police. You should stay with a trusted friend and never leave someone alone if you think they've been spiked. Closely monitor their condition and call an ambulance if they deteriorate.
SUPPORT AFTER BEEING A VICTIM OF DRINK SPIKING:
Seeking support after having your drink spiked can be a scary thing, especially if you can't remember what happened. But while it can be traumatic, it's important to alert someone to what happened to reduce the chance of serious medical complications and long-term psychological effects. There is plenty of support out there for victims of drink spiking, and various treatments are offered to help you feel safe again.
    Places to get emotional support,
    • Victim Support - www.victimsupport.org.uk/
    • Counselling through NHS referral - either through your GP or by self-referral through the IAPT service - patient.info/treatment-medica...
    • Private counselling.
    Rape Crisis charity helplines,
England and Wales: 0808 802 9999 (12-2.30 pm and 7-9.30 pm every day).
    Scotland: 0808 801 0302 or text 07537 410 027 (6 pm-midnight every day).
Northern Ireland: 08000 246 991 (Monday and Thursday, 6-8 pm).
CONFIDING IN A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER AFTER BEING A VICTIM:
Confiding in a friend or family member when you have been a victim of a crime can be very difficult. Particularly if you've been sexually assaulted (or think you have been if you have gaps in your memory), it isn't an easy conversation to have.
Remember that you are not to blame and you have not done anything wrong.
It's vital you tell someone about what happened, so you aren't carrying the pain and trauma on your own shoulders. Talking about it can help you get the support you need, both in the short and the long run. This might be from the police, victim support or counsellors. You should remember that drink spiking is an assault. It is a crime, and it should be reported to the police so they can do something about it and prevent it from happening to anyone else.
Other ways of opening up about the incident if you're unable to form the words. You might find it easier to close your eyes or turn away from someone if you're in the same room to make it less daunting. Or, you might feel more comfortable writing down what you want to say, or sending a text message.
The worst part is often worrying about what others will think and whether you will be judged. You should keep in mind that people want to help you and another person's reaction doesn't determine the severity of what happened to you or invalidate your trauma in any way.

I've been spiked a few year back and it was the most horrendous experience.
Lucky my big brother was out with us and knew immediately that something was wrong.
I was aware of everything. I knee my surroundings knew where I was ect but my body just wouldn't do what I told it to.
I told my brother I felt sick but I couldn't get up. He threw me over his shoulder took me to the toilets and stuck his fingers down my throat. I know it's not pleasant but he said I need to get it out.
By then ambulance came and I paralysis.
Thankfully this lasted only 3-4 hours and woke in hospital feeling fine the following morning with a dishevelled brother next to me. He hadn't left my side the whole time.
The drs said that I was spiked with rohypnol and thanks to my brothers quick thinking I survived. I am a tiny person and the amount in my system was to much.
I'm so thankful that I have a brother that loves me and cares ❤️
I can't imagine how these poor women that weren't so lucky would've experienced. Like I said I knew my surroundings but was unable to do anything. God help these girls 😪.

Last night I only had 2 drinks. I never drink more than 3. But this time I could barely walk, I was super dizzy and as soon as my friend got me home I vomited then passed out. I woke up at 8am feeling fine. That's weird right? I don't even have a hangover. This has never happened before. I'm lucky I got home safe

There should be a mandatory serious period of time given to anyone found guilty of this.
Like 5 years for even an attempt at doing this.
10 years for serious harm caused.
Mandatory life sentence if it causes a death.
Anything else is just a wasted effort.
The mandatory life sentence should be also posted on the walls and all the toilets of pubs clubs and hotels.
The signs should be mandatory as well.
Yes, I’m angry. It’s basically poisoning people. Tantamount to attempted murder. Sure, I know most will say it’s not the intent. But there should be no excuse acceptable for this kind of low dog act.

I went out drinking by myself at my brother’s friend’s house only met 2 times. It was awkward because they gave me a personal bottle to drink and they wouldn’t drink from my bottle after 3 shots I was done. Now I’m fighting my whatever in my system barely could walk throwing up and then passed out woke up at my house kitchen floor. My wife said those guys dropped me off home that I was super intoxicated she never seen me like that before and the other guy wanted to hurt me but the person who drove me stopped them from touching me because they didn’t want some consequences from my family. PLEASE DONT GO DRINKING WITHOUT YOUR FAMILY

At my work, I was convinced that one of the kitchen staff spiked our coffee. It tasted exactly as coffee would, bitter and you know, coffee. Not a lot of coffee tastes the same.
A coworker who was the same size and height as me felt the exact symptoms I was feeling, which was lethargy and confusion. I told my best friend immediately and talked to our boss about it. Another coworker had the same amount as i and the other short woman did, but she was taller and didn't feel any different. She was immediately concerned for us and she kept an eye on me the entire time I was training a new worker on our cleaning stuff. That moment must have freaked her out because she knew I was completely fine before then. I kept apologizing for the behavior because I would never feel like that with coffee.
Also I was fully rested, in a "normal" state of mind, and I never felt anything like that with any of my coffees. I no longer drink coffee offered by the kitchen department because of it. And their coffee was really good, too!

I did a very dumb thing when I was about 18ish. I witnessed a couple of blokes trying to pressure a girl into drinking this dirty pint looking thing, and, being young and stupid, despite knowing something was probably untoward, I intervened and said "I'll have it" to try to free her from the situation.
The guys kinda looked awkwardly at each other, but I think they knew not letting me drink it would look suspicious, so they let me down it.
I have no memory of that night afterwards, I know my friends sent me home, since I was told afterwards, but I remember nothing else.
Obviously, in hindsight there were better ways of dealing with that situation, but my god, that was unpleasant.

Someone I met last night, bought me a drink and kept talking in circles about the same things. I asked him what emotion was behind the story. WHY are you going on and on about your 5 person team and how you can do nothing but still get paid. He just kept going into obtuse detail and it felt so empty of emotion. When I asked he said he doesn’t feel emotions. I had smoked half of two joints so I was affected by that, but as soon as I felt reduced motor function I became worried. I don’t feel very sure about what happened but when I left the interaction I left abruptly and didn’t give them a chance to keep talking.
