Felicia, this sticker video is super insightful! Thanks for explaining the diff in die cut vs kiss cut stickers. Can't wait to make stickers with the kids. Keep up the great work!
Felicia! Some of the newer cruise ships are using different materials for their stateroom doors and magnets no longer work. Can you make REMOVEABLE stickers? Thanks!
Yes. I just did a quick search and found Avery Customizable Removable Wall Decals. Their description says "Surface Safe adhesive sticks strong, but removes cleanly with no damage to walls". I haven't used it but you can check it out here - amzn.to/3U33OS2 #ad
For the silhouette studio you can actually cut everything together, you just have to cut in the "line" section not the "simple" section, you can give different colors to lines and chose the cut settings for each color
Thanks for sharing this, that’s a lot of work to do all these different types of software. I only use Cricut and have been curious about the others, especially Brother. I’m probably going to stick with Cricut after this lol
I have been interested in the Brother ScanNCut. So, I have been watching lots of videos. The process to make stickers is much easier than you made them. The screen on the cutting machine will create the offset for cutting stickers. I am not sure if that is a recent update. But, just thought I would point it out because the Brother ScanNCut can do so much. For me, the deal breaker was the cost of the mats. I am really rough on my mats. So, I decided to go with the Silhouette Cameo 5. Thanks for the comparisons!
Mats can be cleaned and reused. th-cam.com/users/shortssAqIY6pYsRQ?feature=share Stickers can be done on screen but some are more challenging to do that way.
I am currently using my Maker 3 for stickers and I hate that I have so much wastage because of the registration marks. I was looking at the Cameo, but this video makes me think the Sista allows you more space? Which machine allows you to utilise the most space on your sheet?
Nice comparison Thanks. Question: I want to cut the Disney Dusty plane skull. but in 30mm size. I want to buy a used silhouette portrait, do you think this machine can do it? I am new in the vinyl-cutting hobby and I have not idea about the capabilities of the machines. I was trying to do it with an exacto knife by hand and it was pretty difficult in that size. I hope you can share some advice. Thanks!
The Silhouette Portrait can only cut up to 2mm. Check our the tech specs here - www.silhouetteamerica.com/featured-product/portrait#:~:text=PRINT%20%26%20CUT.-,Create%20custom%20Print%20%26%20Cut%20projects%20with%20your%20home%20printer%2C%20and,decals%2C%20temporary%20tattoos%20and%20more!
Hi! I have a cricket air 2 and whenever I try to laminate my stickers over the registration marks it won’t read it. And lately it has been cutting off center.:( is the cricket maker better at reading shiny paper?
Technically, you shouldn't cover the registration marks, but, like in this video, it worked perfect. I was using clear laminate and not holographic. I can't cover the registration marks with holographic laminate. If your machine isn't cutting perfectly, recalibrate and see if that helps.
There are two ways to solve your problem if you haven't already: There are several templates on cricut you can use to cut your overlay so it doesn't cover the registration marks. Or you can do what I did make a page full of stickers that are the exact size and shape of the registration marks, put your work on a light box and line it up exactly. (It's way more work but I like being able to laminate full sheets at a time rapidly in bulk and I'm good at lining up the stickers on the lighbox) Do what works for you. I don't mind sharing my project if it might help you.
We've been using vinyl cutting machines for 4+ years. And when do these comparisons, we spend a lot of time making sure we give a fair comparison to each. 3 of 5 machines were on point and received our top rating. I have been using LOKLiK for nearly a year and it still - to date - cannot successfully make stickers consistently even with the most recent update. I was an early adopter of this machine. As for Brother, we've been using it for several years and it does so many things awesome, but they make it challenging for stickers...at least to us.
@@craftwithfelicia cada maquina tiene una filosofia distinta de corte y ademas sus cuchillas, lo ideal es q cada maquia sea usado x un experto en dicha maquina,

Thanks for the rapid reply trying to get my son the right gift. Do you have a color printer you recommend for printing the stickers?
I'd recommend the Epson EcoTank ET2800. The ink goes a long way.
I need to cut high detail sticker masks for sand blasting glass, any recomendation on machine
Not sure how thick that is so I can't say.

I've seen some find "hacks" for ways to use more of the sticker paper. I haven't dug into that yet, but will add it to my list to research.
Nice comparison Thanks.

Had a Cameo 4, but it was so hard to use. Got a Cricut Maker 3. So much easier.

I use highlighter tape over the registration marks with my cricut.

Do you think cameo 5 cut “print&cut” more accurately that the 4? I’ve been having so much trouble with the 4 and want to upgrade.
Hard to say since I haven't compared them.
Only 285 likes? I am giving you one like I could, but huge effort into this.Stay motivated.
Thank you 😊
