I like when they file the rough casting marks, being mass produced they don’t have time to make them look the good. It’s almost like they way they should be from the factory! Awesome work!!
egcellent... you practically gave a new lease on life to this old fellow.. .these tools are antiques.. store it in your toolbox for years to come... another 60 years of life inside your garage or toolbox for jobs to do... good work.
Dam good job, man; as well as in your work with the 100 year ratchet there is something I love in your restorations. Getting the tools with brushed or scotch brite rubbing finish let them look somehow more robust and solid than the ones with mirror finish; there is something in the glow -when it comes to steel- that make it look somehow cheaper or less solid; I know there are lots of people that like that extra shinny finish and every opinion or like is to respect. However I love that old solid and reliable look in tools. Warm regards from Mexico.

@@Crystalheard Unfortunately I couldn’t measure that since I don’t have the tools for that, but it is really strong. And yeah it is also made for high torque applications as far as I know
It's a friction spanner. We use them everyday at work. The insert isn't usually a square hole, it's normally a 6 or 12 point 'socket' that goes straight onto the nut or bolt. We use them from 20mm all the way upto 80mm

Thank you! I think that depends on the part. But if you just cold blue a part which isn’t exposed to friction it doesn’t wear off, at least in my experience. The cold bluing of the inner parts will probably wear off with time at the spots were it is exposed to friction
Das Werkzeug ist durch das schleifen und polieren so glatt geworden, das es bei geringen Mengen Schweiß in der Hand zu rutschen beginnt. Keine so gute Idee gewesen.
Looks nice, but you are really not "restoring". Restoring is returning as close as possible to the original condition. Removing casting marks, chamfering holes, and bluing parts is not restoring, it is improving.
I like the silky shine of the surfaces. It`s precious.

Very very very nice and good job, good like from Morocco.
Thank you Hicham! 🙏🏼
@@DrHutOfHandcraft you are welcome brother.
I can only WISH for a wrench like that! Beautiful craftsmanship in restoring it.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
You should give everyday one video , it's so nice to watch, really SUPERB.
That would be a little to much work and wouldn’t really fit in my life 😄 thank you!

Thank you mate, glad you liked it!

Thank you so much for your kind words 🙏🏼
I really like the contrast between the cold blueing and the satin finish. There’s a nice pop to the tool.
I’m glad you like it, thank you for your comment Peter!
Really like the two tone finish.

@@DrHutOfHandcraft May I ask how strong it is? I am a little worried if I am applying too much force but it loses grip, it could be disastrous.

Cool tool! Never seen one like it. I'm assuming you turn it over to unscrew something.
Thank you! Yes me neither, I discovered it just in this project. Yes you turn it around to change direction

Wonder how much torque it can eat.
Me too! But unfortunately I didn’t have a measuring tool
Would be cool to have a toothless ratchet for those tight spots where you can’t turn much. How much backlash did you notice in this thing?
@@roccocroce yes definitely!
What exactly do you mean by backlash? Sry I’m not a native speaker 😅
