Hello everyone. On the 25th of June I received this old wrench. As you know, I am trying to present my restorations with a story. I also fictionalized the story of this British hand tool based on this date. I hope you like it. With my warmest regards... Stay safe and see you soon in a new story... - byOldHand -
hi i have a small collection of these in different sizes and slightly different designs, king dick, military and others, they have something about them that has got me out the crap when all others fail, the 4 inch is a kit bag must
Whenever i'm stressed, angry, whenever there is serious unrest in my mind... I search for this kind of video and there's nothing more relaxing than watching it. Fulfilling, soothing and satisfying. There's something magical in craftsmanship that calmes mind and raises spirit. Thank You.
I watched this video sometime ago, I probably commented, can’t help myself when I see quality work. It has occurred to me that you are not only saving a tool, but you are saving a product and honoring the people who spent countless hours in designing, casting parts, machining the parts, fitting and finishing of the parts and then the sales and distribution of the wrench, and finally to the consumer, how many countless hours and hands has this tool, or any other tool for that matter, gone thru before it reached your hands sir? The things this world throws away or neglects, in the name of progress. Just a thought. Thanks for your video.
Thank you very much Gentleman 🙏🏻⚒️🌟 Really happy to see you here and many thanks for your kindly comment. Stay safe and see you soon in next story 🖐🏻🌿🥃🥃🥃 cheers
Thank you my gentleman friend. I m so glad you like my work and very happy to see you here 🌟🗜️⚒️ Now it is your turn, waiting for your new project 🍀Stay safe and Cheers 🥃
The most theatrical restoration. There is something mysterious about these old objects that are coming back to life. Something like a resurrection. Thank you for showing us something very beautiful.
This channel is the GOOP of the restoration genre. All very carefully choreographed to show his leather apron, his lunch of walnuts and an apple, his morning tea out of vintage china, the vintage music playing in the background, taking time to film his cat playing with string. All very twee. I wouldn’t be surprised if several of the steps are performed by unseen (more skilled) assistants behind the scenes. Not a terrible model (after all it works great for Gwyneth Paltrow) but not nearly as fun as watching My Mechanics perform his absolute magic.
Beautiful job on this tool. I am retired and would love to these but I just don't have the talent. I d love watching you work. Please keep the videos coming.
I enjoyed watching, as my apple butter thickened . I was surprised to see the quality of the shine, as if it was chromed. A really beautiful piece of equipment.
I can barely believe what I just saw.. You guys that restore things don't get the credit you deserve.. My son sent me an antique ammo box that was a little rusty.. I sanded and sanded and sanded and it's still oozing rust so I just called that project done.. My friend you are quickly moving up the food chain.. Very nice work.. Looking for more from u soon.. Take care.. P.S. I'll bet the King would like to have that one back to put in his showroom...
Thank you very much Gary 🙏🏻⚒️ I m so glad you like my work and enjoyed the video. I m trying to do my best. Nice to see you here. Stay safe and Cheers 🥃
I have inherited some old tools and amongst them are some Abingdon King Dicks of varying sizes. You have inspired me to attempt restoration and I will not be able to reach your standard due to lack of the right tools plus arthritis in my fingers I know that if I can at least preserve them a bit, the next owner may have your skills to give them the respect they deserve as they would now be I imagine coming up to 100 years old. You sir are an inspirational person 🙏
I'm glad that there are still people like that who care about precision and beauty, I thought we were disappearing, I have no words to express my admiration, BRAVO keep up the good work, we are not disappearing, respectful from old BG.
I don't understand people who don't value tools and leave them lying around or throw them away. I also restore tools, you're doing very well just keep going.
I stumbled across your channel this past week and after watching a video immediately subscribed. The attention to detail and the love and energy you put into each project is amazing. The beautiful atmosphere and old world feel add so much as well. I’ve watched a lot of different channels on restorations and there’s only a hand full that cross the line into exceptional. Yours my friend is definitely one of those channels. Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience with the world. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I love the fact that the inside part still shows the history of the tool. You probably have one of the most underrated channels on TH-cam my friend. Keep it up!
Dear gentleman. First I thought: tea? Where’s the whiskey? Where’s the cognac? And then I relaxed… ;-) Beautiful story and beautifully filmed! What a pleasure to watch! Cheers my friend! Per-Olov

@OldHand, that's an amazing resurrection most would have thought unfeasible. The maker, _King Dick Tools,_ is 166 years old (2022) and still going strong in Birmingham, a city in the heart of England with a proud tradition in engineering. Their products are top-notch.
After working with my tools most of my life, I find comments about tool misuse almost comical. When making a living with your tools, you sometimes have to do what’s needed to get paid, and tools can be used outside their designed purpose. Sometimes they’re misplaced or lost and the tool pays a terrible price. I Love your video, straight up tool time. Best tool video I’ve seen yet! I love the beyond resto to show piece tool.
