  • Hey guys, this is Bear from Bear’s Workshop. In todays video we are going to do a quick review and unboxing on a drill and impact driver set that I picked up off of Amazon around Christmas. We have quite a bit of experience with these tools as we have been using then for years.
    This combo set.

    For $149 I picked up a similar combo kit at Lowe's. The combo from Lowe's has 2 ah batteries. The same combo on amazon and home depot had 1.5 ah batteries.
    Mine are brushless. I was lucky enough to be in Oregon over Christmas, so there was no sales tax. I also saved an additional 5 percent by using my lowes card. I'll pay the bill as soon as I get my statement.
    I love the balance and feel of the 1/4 inch impact driver. I watch teardown and how to videos all the time and have envied the zip zip zip of the presenter whipping through a disassembly in seconds with an impact driver. Now I can see if it is as easy as they make it look.
    The special at Lowe's is advertized through Jan 31, 2024. I'm guessing the other box stores may be similar. These tools feel nice.

    For light maintenance at a chicken plant would these work? If not I'll just buy Milwaukee.

    My drill smelled like that too.. had a bit of a spark in the back by the brushes. Is that normal? Just got it for father's day haven't to it to work yet.

      From this kit, the drill did not last. I have other Dewalts that are still working that are much older.

      So far so good. I would suggest light duty for this set though.

    Would you recommend the brushless set for electrical work?

    • @BearsWorkshop
      @BearsWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is the impact a 3/8 drive?

    • @BearsWorkshop
      @BearsWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a 1/4" drive. Obviously you can use an adapter to 3/8" or 1/2"
