An oil pressure test with an oil pressure tester has to be performed to determine if it is actually oil pressure or a problem with the warning system, it could be that the oil pump you put in is a dud, I had it happen to me before.
Actually, there is a specific additive developed and recommended for wet drive belt engines, it helps keep the rubber compound supple, therefore reducing the wear that creates oil pump failure due to debris build-up in the crankcase which blocks the oil pump sieve pick-up. Mr Gary last time I asked for a help with my mk2 oil buzzer..I've replaced the oil pump and it's still doing the same at operation temperature.
