    Thanks for the video! I’m hoping to do this soon! Legit going to the dealership is a lot of money for an oil change. Wish there was more videos for a 2021 Ecosport maintenance.

    Thanks for this video. This makes me more confident in using my new 3-ton low profile jack on the subframe under my EcoSport. Have been worried about using it there, but it will be so much easier to use one jack instead of two on the pinch welds. Got some SUV 6 ton jack stands, and I'm ready for the second round as the cold months start kicking in. My first time changing it, the oil filter was practically on, loctite, tight. I fought it and swore a lot. Same with my sister's Fiesta. They sabotage tighten this stuff to keep you from doing it yourself. Used 5W-20 Super Tech synthetic with a little bit of Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer. Runs good with it.

    My 2018 Eco Sport with the 1.0 liter engine has the filter on sideways so it makes a real mess removing it. Other than that oil changes on these vehicles are very easy.

  • @markdecker9605
    @markdecker9605 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The 2.0L engine is easier to change the oil on than 1.0L EcoBoost.
    With the 1 liter EcoBoost the engine oil filter is up high on the back side of the engine facing the firewall. It's impossible to not to spill oil unless you get creative. When you loosen the oil filter oil will run all down over the block. Or it will drip down on the axle shaft.
    I like your tip about filling the oil filter. Most people don't think of that. Depending on location you can't always do that. I like that it sets vertically straight up and down. When the 1.0LEcoBoost it is on its side.
    The Motorcraft filterr is FL 910S. It is the same for both engines.
    If you dare. Wix, Fram and others make an oversized filter.
    In the case of the FL910s the Fram equivalent is the 3614 series. The oversized filter is the Fram 3600 series. All specs are the same as far as bypass and gasket. The 3600 is much larger and will hold just a bit more oil.

    • @LA_Commander
      @LA_Commander ปีที่แล้ว

      The Motorcraft FL400 is slightly longer than the 910 and can be used if there is sufficient space

    My 2020 4 wheel drive with the 2.0 engine takes 5 quarts of oil with a motorcraft fl910s oil filter. Owner manual says 4.3 quarts brings it to the bottom on dip stick. I put 5 quarts in puts it right to full line. Don’t know why owners manual says 4.3 quarts .I’ve done 9 oil changes on it .

      Is it a check engine light or a wrench light? Otherwise you need to navigate through the menu to reset the oil change reminder. With the keypad on the left of the steering wheel, use the up and down arrows to get to settings. Then press the button with 3 lines on it. Then use the up and down arrows to get to oil life. Then hold OK to reset oil life.

      Try to find the fuel filter then locate the petcock located at the bottom of the filter base. Drain out the water till you get clean diesel. Sometimes under the hood. Sometime located near the fuel tank.

    • @Shadows-RC

      I guess 'they' say that the High Mileage formula conditions (swells) the seals SO well, that if you went back to a regular synthetic, the seals would leak.
      I don't know that to be true, however, as I haven't experienced it firsthand. I have not used High Mileage oil in a newer, low mileage vehicle.

      Thanks a lot. Great. I just bought one. It's all I could find that didn't have a million frickin' miles on it. 2021 AWD 2.0. Has not quite 9,000 miles.
      People drive too much. It's like they drive and drive to get away from themselves, as well as living ridiculously far from their jobs. My neighbor won't leave his vehicle alone. He drives around all day when he's not at work, comes home for 5 mins, then gets back in it and takes off again. His wife too. Her car sounds like crap because she's wearing her's out too. All day everyday. Can't people just cool their jets at home? Reminds me of Peter Griffin on cocaine.
