It was not really mocked much it was however over hyped and not built right in its early years they did not even build a separate auto plant floor for it meaning workers had to rush and build it.
@@thomasley4006 Oh sorry thought you meant the whole car no the front was mocked but many who bought the 58 with automatic steering had said the quality was unpredictable. However quite a few liked the look but complained about parts and quality so mocking had nothign to do about it failing it was the set up and over hype aspect but mocking did not help.
Any idea what muffler is on that? Sounds amazing. And tires too. I want some wide whitewall radials for my 59 but preferably not coker. Probably will get Diamondback. Thanks. Take care from New Hampshire.
It’s an incredibly beautiful car. A work of art. I‘ll never understand that they were actually mocked back in the day for their looks!!

@ Yes. It was mercilessly mocked, especially the front which some inclined looked like ladyparts.

Philco was Ford’s in-house brand, and a factory radio would likely have shown the Philco brand name.
Absolutely beautiful
Almost looks like a Studebaker Lark with a Vulva on the Grill.
It's much bigger than a Lark....
What a beautiful car.
Nice Edsel! ❤
Introduced in 1957.
