Opening the bottom of the original od+ give you pimax level fov.A 3d printer spacer to put on the sides and bring down the bottoms of the gasket allow your head to enter full inside the headset. The only downside will be light leakage around the nose.
These glasses rock when paired with a steam deck or ROG Ally. You can just lay on a couch 🛋️ and watch your game on the ceiling. Zero neck strain.
you sound like a total npc
I’m curious if this can work with the Nintendo switch and joycons
Thank you for making this video. The video was very helpful to me and the update makes the Xreal Air a lot better.
I have this glasses and i can say is amazing, excelent quality and crystal clear display..
Does your glasses have the problem with red color being very oversaturated and also the brightness being very dark in games?
@@VizioN-ScopeMine do not and I’ve had them for six months. Super cool product when paired with the Steam Deck.

Having a 120hz refresh rate is a must for me. Can't wait for three 2k or 4k version of it.
2k = 1080p…
Also it's not 120hz it's 72hz.

Just added that option to be able to put the screen wherever like I could set it on my wall at home they sold me that was the only downfall I would not buy those things over if it was stuck in front of my face at all times thank you for this review dude, you just sold me on these glasses🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for providing a comprehensive review of the new update.
Bonus points for the Pentiment showoff.
I use my oculus quest 2 for media consumption mainly, passthrough big screens and such, im tempted to upgrade to quest 3 , but i've heard these have significantly better image quality, so i'm a bit stuck. Is the screen quality significantly better for the purpose of watching prime, netflix or youtube? I mainly use vr desktop with my q2 and I wonder if this could replace my q2 in this respect, as a super large pc monitor.
Man, I bought Quest 3, but finally I bought for video content Xreal Air glasses, and absolutely don’t use Quest 3..
2 Month ago was posted this video and in the background you can recognize Meta Quest 3. Nice one ❤
The x beam is a total game changer in my opinion
Xreal hair hehe. Awesome video mate
Thanks, I figured out that if you enlarge the bottom of the original face gasket on the od+ and you detache a bit both side then you get a very large fov.The sides of the gasket will touch the sides of your head their will be light leakage on the bottom and sides but the benefit on the fov is pymax level and it is easily repearable.
Pardon me, but what's an OD+?

Just got my xreal Beam, you will need a gen 2 type c cable to use it. Without it you cannot use any device attached to it
I'd love to know how much tech like this affect your eyesight long term. And how much eye strain you accumulate after couple of hours of use.
Have they fixed the red color being way oversaturated? and also the brightness being very dark in games?.
Hi, the color issue mainly occurs when using the glass with Apple devices, and we have found a solution for this issue. It will be solved by new firmware, currently, it is still under internal testing. After the full test is completed, we will release it.
@@XREAl_Tech_Support Thank so much you for replaying to this.
I do not own any apple devices and both my Lenovo legion 5 pro (5800h - RTX 3070) and Asus Rog Ally with (win11) have these problems.
I also have the newest xreal air firmware installed 2weeks ago.
I truly hope xreal can fix this with the next update because it's the one thing I really dislike about the glasses. If they fix this, then the glasses will be great.
I notice the same on my steamdeck sometimes things are very dark and hard to see.
That's funny that there's a Quest 3 in the background, 2 months ago!
Can it lock the screen, so excited to finally get this to be more usable!
Are the firs model?
Is there a way that you can test these as a camera monitor?! I am a videographer with a Sony FX3 and I love the idea of using these as a monitor while doing run and gun shooting.
Hello! How do u think, is it possible to use it as a replacement for computer monitor? Is picture better or worse then pico 4?
Hi, you can use it as a monitor I think. I'm not sure if it is better than VR devices, but I can tell you that there is no door effect in our glass.
* Xreal Air: 49 PPD
* Apple Vision Pro: 34 PPD

Yeaaaaah.. as a display, you can't get better than the Air!
So now we need screenless devices on the market like laptops and handhelds

Buy a second hand device with a broken screen, its cheaper & you know the catch compared to buying an "undamaged" device, I mean it can be true but not guaranteed.
Is there a need of XReal Beam as well? I just need the screen say still when I work with three screens. Can you please clarify?

can you input the glasses with 3840x1080@120 sbs 3d image for stereo imaging ?
Who saw the quest 3 at the background.
its a 3d print
The first second of the video did any one else see a quest 3
Yes i was looking if anyone else noticed.
Can't wait to get a pair of these. @tyrielwood, if you use the lens inserts for prescription glasses do the glasses then stick out further on your head, or is it the same as it you didn't use them? Thanks
Same
Oh wait do these glasses have 3dof in that "AR" mode?
Alright, finally one of these screens on your face has a point to it. I just dont get the idea of having the screen attached to the glasses. Like sure it kind of looks bigger but if you cant look away from it you cant really get an accurate idea of scale.
Sounds like it cant do it in every situation, "mirror mode" sounds like its still stuck to your face, but almost worth it for me. Definitely putting it on the list of possible purchases. Obviously going for the quest 3 wayyyy before I even think about these glasses.
7:30 ah yeah looks like it. Again that's just what makes it worth it for me.
Very funny all those glasses but in one of the most high-tech country in the world we cannot buy them in normal stores. That country is the Netherlands BTW.
Hey there! We would love to launch our products in even more places, however we want to ensure a high standard of customer service. We're working on a European launch, so stay tuned for updates.
I just checked the price on these things and was kind of surprised to see how expensive they are. Am I crazy or weren't they just like 150 bucks a year or so ago?
Compared to LED TV or comparable projector, the price for a portable display with these features is pretty good imo.
Glasses like these were never 150 bucks. You might be thinking of something else.
I had a pair they were like $400 or close to that. Returned them, not very comfortable and very fidly to use. Just not something I’d ever fiddle with to use on a regular basis. I’ll keep my $
Dang was hoping these were new. The Nreal Air (these are the same thing) were not very comfortable and trying to get lenses made for them for a Rx was a pain. Was told by 4 different labs they could not make the lenses because they were too small.
Hey there! We're sorry to hear about this, thank you for sharing your feedback on the difficulty you experienced.
In terms of comfort, we do suggest swapping out the nose pads for a better fit. We also understand that individual heads are shaped differently, so we hope to bring better customization solutions in the future.
In regards to your prescription, we have two partners online (Lensology in the UK, who offer worldwide shipping and Frame of Choice by Rochester Optical in the US) along with guides on our Subreddit.
I can hear second beep but how do I know it's 120hz?
With the screen "docked" using body tracking, is that just for rotation (3 dof) or does the screen get bigger/smaller as you move closer/further away from it (6 dof I guess)?
just rotational 3DoF
Hi, it is 3Dof because the XREAL Air can only support 3Dof.
@@XREAl_Tech_Support Thanks. So to get the best out of it I need to sit fairly still and just turn my head?
@@robman80808 The screen is stable enough, so you can move around as you please. Just keep in mind that the screen will follow your body's movements.
@@robman80808no you can get infinite DoF with this small piece of light weight hardware. Also some features which are not officially mentioned that it can actually wash clothes and dishes as well.
Wow so you’ll have to buy the extra peripheral to get mirror mode to not be static on the display?
Hi, as numerous users demand the 3Dof screen across various platforms, we crafted the XREAL Beam to be compatible with diverse devices, providing a vast-screen encounter. Furthermore, the 3Dof screen necessitates additional computing power, making a standalone device ideal for this purpose.

Does the Xreal glasses and the beam comes with the gen 2 type C cable included in the box?
Hi, the Beam comes with a C-C cable in the box. And the XREAL Air glass also comes with a default cable.
This would be great with people like being with low vision. Too bad I'm on social security disability LOL
This kind of tech is a hit or miss depending on what you decide to use it for. I'd say just get one and try it out. If it works for you, keep it. If not, return. No one can tell you "Oh sure, you'll totally love it dood."
will you help me operate these glasses?
Wondering if the 1080p screens will be acceptable if I'm used to 4K monitors?
this seems like more of a personal preference. for me, i dont mind 1080p aslong as i gets a high refresh rate. besides 1080p is like standard for most screens. its the perfect sweet spot. not bad but not the best either.
Do these have a feature where if you have multiple people with glasses, they could share the same content. Like, you are watching a film together on a big screen?
Hi, the sharing function is not available in our Beam, but we do have a similar function in Android Nebula, you can share your screen with another person who is also using the glass with Android Nebula.
I turned on my android show connected display refresh rate and it still only shows 60nhz even when doing the double beep. Is there a way I can confirm if this is working properly or not on my phone?
can these connect to galaxy watches or apple watches?
I can't go lower than 90hz, especially for VR environments.
They didn't change the name to be cooler. They were threatened with a lawsuit from Epic. I hate Epic.
Would you recommend these or rokid max???
Having soem problems connecting xbxo to beam using usb c to hdmi connection. Xreal has that cable listed on tjeir website but i tried third party. Didnt work
bro i use these in bed to watch movieis i have a king size bed and 65 inch tv.... the screen goes past my bed and tv....it takes up the whole wall ...this thing is awesome and very clear picture also the only problem is the sound on glasses is low i use a good pair of headphones
There seems to be a lot of bad reviews of these on Amazon. I was really thinking of getting them . Don’t like it but it is swaying me a bit.
We recognize and appreciate the feedback shared by users on our Amazon. Many of these comments concern issues with getting started with the device itself. With this in mind, we have began to address these issues through providing thorough guides and tutorials on getting started with the glasses.
Our Support teams are always ready to assist users should they have any issues, or require troubleshooting!
Spatial computing is not very good with a 1080p display, since anything smaller would be way less than the 1080p.
What do you think Samsung and Apple when will release the same AR galsses?
What is the resolution?
why this device not available world wide
Can i use them for work?am thinking of a combi of them and some noise cancelling earbuds for a supper immersive work sesh
Hi, Yes, it is possible to connect the Beam to your PC using both wired and wireless connections, which will provide you with a large 3Dof screen. Additionally, you can easily connect your earbuds to the Beam using BLE technology.
0:53 waitttttt a minute What’s in the background there? A a a A META QUEST 3!
What advantages does it have compearing to Viture XR? They sell for about the same price and seem to be very similiar.
Viture has much more comprehensive ecosystem, they are the only one that supports all the apps and is compatible with all the consoles. What xreal has been doing is pure overmarketing, and it is silly to have an extra device just for 3Dof
@@AlexJorgensenPresident yep, XReal puts a lot in marketing. TH-cam is filled with their videos.
But Beam also allows to minimize, adjust and fixate the screen.
@@smrndmthngntbt These features were first released by Viture during their Kickstarter campaign, but neckband is far more than these features, it opens a new world with all the streaming and gaming apps.
When using Samsung DEX or Mirror casting the Android phone, is there a way to use the new anchor mode so the screen doesn't follow our head turns?
It should be possible using beam
@@Tyrielwood Really? That would be great if it does, have you tested it?
Fingers crossed to work on the new iPhone 15's USB-C without adapters @Tyrielwood !
let's hope in that type c coming tho :)
I'm waiting until these support PCVR like SteamVR or things like DCS World.
Are there any glasses like this with variable refresh rate?
You wouldn't want an oled with variable refresh rate, I mean it's possible but its either using imperfect shortcuts or its VERY computationally expensive. If you want an explanation go watch the ltt video on some laptops they were showing titled slower is better.
Simply put, oleds every time they update flash light, if it updates more in one second than another its visually brighter, you need to do many calculations to determine brightness per flash or if you are a phone ballpark the expected fps & make the display stay locked at that expected hz until enough time has passed and the phone ballparks again.
In short what you are asking for in thin glasses is simply not technologically possible yet & even if it did work the end result would be very undesirable.
Volendolo comprare in Europa non c'è ancora modo?
Poço f4 function??
I cant wait to get one
thanks for the video - its a shame that phone support is extremely limited,.
Thats pretty normal, most androids simply dont support external displays & iphones lightning connector had speeds that couldn't even support 720p at 30hz nevermind 1080p 120hz. Thankfully switching between brands of androids is painless & iphone 15 exists now with usb c display mode.
Some sources say It's 60hz instead of 120hz

Greetings! If your PC is compatible with Miracast, then the Beam can be connected to it wirelessly without the need for an HDMI transmitter. However, it is not advisable to play games using a wireless connection.
anyone had an issue where they just aren't quite in focus, regardless of the distance? for anyone who trys them? any suggested fixes?

Hi, it depends. What I can tell you is the resolution of the glass is 1080P, which is clear and good enough for video watching without the door effect. And working with XREAL Beam, the size of the screen can be adjustable.
I tested that a few times, I think this can be a thing, especially when you are not at home and don't have a big screen in front of you. So far I found it hard to use it for longer periods and only tested it at home where I preferred to use the screen I'm used to, but I will test this further, it certainly has potential.
This is cool and dumb as hell at the same time lol.
No sorry, it just emulates to look on a 24 inch monitor in 1 meter distance !!
Why are you telling such wrong information ? ( Minute 1:18 ) 120 inches ??? Are you totaly out of mind ? If this emulates 120 inch then "only" in 15 meters distance.
Ridiculous ! Sebastian from MRTV ( youtube channel ) showed it in his video.. it´s just as big as a 24 inch monitor which was on his desk...
I am really dissapointed Tyriel about this wrong information you gave here.. You showed it yourself in Minute 1:33 ...
Hi, I'm sorry. But the screen size is related to the distance. And also, you will have a better understanding and feeling when you put on the glass and feel it. We configured the distance and screen size in Unity, which matches the real world. So please do not worry about the screen size.
@@XREAl_Tech_Support Hello XREAL Tech_support, Thank you for your comment but are you telling me that i am wrong with my concern about the screen size ? Please have a look at minute 1:33 in this video .. there you can clearly see that the shown image is in size similar to a smal monitor screen on the desk right in front of Tyriel .. how should that feeling be different when i put the glases on myself ? Please don´t get me wrong, i lreally love your product, especially in combination with the brand new Beam controller. Having the ability to see everything on the smartphone floating in front of me is realy awesome and i could imagine, that one day most smartphone users will look straigt ahead instead down on their phone in their hands while they are communicationg/ watching videos/ navigation/translate text ( or in close future may be even a foreign voice by subtitles ..just like the soon coming TCL Rayneo X2 AR glasses ) ... it offers so many possibilities ..
What i don´t like is extreme announcements and advertisement of virtual screen sizes that do not match reality ! That is my only point.
Believe me, as soon as the Xreal glasses ( including the beam) is offered in Germany on Amazon or Bestware i will get one of those .. but i will tell people the true size of the screen as i do not like exaggeration.

who guys say these glasses are on par with Quest 2 with movie/video playing or not really??
im thinking of these glasses for movies and the Q2 for gaming only but i don't want to drop a noticable bit of details in movies doing so. for nearly $400. its bugging me to not just upgrade to Q3 in september and make sure im not dropping details. but them glasses are so much better for movie watching its killing me. nothign in the back liek the elite strap to annoying you and sleek as possible so its not a special event to wear them.
Having had both (still have the q2, but my 'nreal' airs broke after a while), the nreal airs were definitely better. I would never lug around a vr device like that for on a long trip or something. Plus, the resolution you would actually be seeing through the q2 would be more close to 480p, because of the lower ppd (someone else mentioned it in the comment thread, but it's like 20ppd for the quest, to 49 ppd for the airs). The only issues I had were ofc the build quality (might have been a fluke, but the connection to my right display started to mess up the image), the reddish tint to the display (not too distracting, but the display quality is quite close to great, would be great without it) and some glare coming in from the sides of the glasses.
I also own both devices, the picture on the glasses is superior.
