Me looking at the CI black Friday sale this morning: "good stuff but I don't need anything right now." Me after watching Sandman talk about it: "Alight, I've added 10 things to my cart..."
I saw this sale yesterday and almost bought the Genesis and Echelon sets. I picked up the LLT Ridgeback Set instead and when I saw this video, you talked me into getting the Misfits and I added the Ergo Turners. Don't tell my wife...
I built so many reach arounds out of clothes hangars when I was in the military, the barracks at ft bliss are hotel style keycards with auto closing doors so youd lock yourself out of your bedroom in middle of night when you got up to pee and the civilians in charge of barracks took hours to show up with a master key to let you back in so most of us ended up with reach arounds in the common area and at the CQ desk
Art of lock picking announced in their newsletter a few weeks ago that they partnered with covert instruments as their pick supplier so the graphic may actually be from them. Also abracadabra
I put in another very chunky order. Looking forward to having more tools in the arsenal! Especially the grav pic and the reach around. Bummed that the finger patch is out of stock though!
I snagged the ergo combs! Excited to see if I get a patch or picks! I also got an email from Petersons with a 30% off code with $50+ purchase don’t think I’ll use due to spending $70 on PacLocks today
I wish I could get some of those sweet residential Lishi tools but I just bought an Arbiter set, a Slim Pickings, a mag-connect, ergo combs, some patches, and a set of titanium bogotas. Maybe I’ll get into Lishi’s next year, but I really want to get their key sets as well, the cabinet keys, access control keys, and vehicle try-out keys, and I want to get their bump keys. Basically I just want everything they make but I just don’t have enough money to buy it all lol
@@sandman_locksport I don’t know, at the rate they’re making new products, I’m not sure I’ll ever have everything they have to offer, but that just means there’s always something to look forward to
I have 2 Master 140 locks, an old and newer version. The ergo comb picks work on the old but not the newer one. I dont know why. The massage parlor has some good reach around.
Whether a Master 140 can be combed is bitting dependent. If the key for the lock has a low cut, the key pin will be too long to be shoved completely above the shear line.
What is up with all of these folks claiming most of it sold out in minutes? I see like 2 Lishi tools sold out on the landing page. Every other main set or covert companion thing is still available for me. IDK if it's a region lock deal or what but the stuff I want is still there.
@@cgk6312 there was a website glitch when the sale launched this morning. But it’s been fixed. People are too lazy to go back and check the website lol.
Would you recommend the learn lockpicking bundle for a beginner looking to get started? I didn't see any other videos reviewing it Really I just want to know how valuable that practice lock is
@@soccpuppet4638 it’s a good bundle and you will get a lot of use out of that lock. It was threaded and knurling was added by Paclock in California, makes it more comfortable to use and you can swap out the pins easily
The CI Practice Lock will get you up to the LPU Green Belt skill level, HOWEVER it will not be a valid submission for any official LPU belt rank above White because it has no factory configuration. Hopefully that helps inform your purchase decision!
I noticed the acronym SSF is on several items in the CI catalog, but I haven’t come across what it means. Help? Edit: two separate commenters have informed that it denotes a tool that can be installed in the Covert Companion. Edit 2: a third commenter has informed me that the actual meaning is Small Standard Format and confirms that it refers to CC tools.
@@sandman_locksport Lol, Of course nothing nefarious, but I’d be interested to know what it is. If it was just ss I’d assume it was stainless steel. If it was on everything I’d at least guess it was “stainless steel, flat” since they’re going to start selling stuff with injection molded plastic handles. I’m just curious I guess. Also, the sale on the learn lockpicking bundle is a steal, basically a free Genesis set with their repinnable training lock! If I can spare the $50 I’m DEFINITELY ordering one!
Not sure what it stands for, but, everything with "SSF" in the product name is designed to go into a Covert Companion. You can always email CI support directly to ask what it stands for, they are pretty quick with their responses and have always been pleasant to communicate with.
I’ve never known what it stands for but it basically means that it’s designed to go into a Covert Companion. Maybe it stands for like Super Slim Form-factor or something
Depends on what you want it for. Basically all jackknife tools are dog shit for actually picking locks, and bypass tools are pretty much useless for locksport. However, if you are a collector or just want a cool toy, go for it.
@ I’ve been lockpicking for many years (Lockport only). I focus mainly on single pin picking and don’t even use my rakes. Mainly I’ve never seen it so cheap before and don’t own any jigglers or warded lock picks so I was thinking it might be worth it.
Much of the merchandise sold out in minutes. It certainly looks like a gimmick sale. Does it constitute a bait and switch ploy? It does to me. Sorry for "dumping" on L.P.L. But it is what it is. Nothing personal. Mr. Sandman, You had nothing to do with this sad performance. I'm taking bets as to how long this comment exists before it is scrubbed.
