Abracadabra and Alakazam another successful stream from the Sandman! When you get your blackbelt, make a moral patch of you in a Gi with the blackbelt, black eye and a butterfly lockpick in hand.
Looks cool, still gonna wait for a sale before I get it. It only holds one pick at a time. Maybe If it had a faster swap method that didn’t require an external tool I’d still spring for it but it seems more like a party trick. Cool fidget and gimmick toy for sure.
I've had the Gravpick for about 24hrs now. It's left my hand only when it was necessary for sleep or for work.. and I do mean only when necessary. I'm addicted, and realized there's a massive potential for customized profiles here. I assumed CI might eventually release different profiles, but I recently acquired a good dremel tool with the sole intent on trying to make my own picks and profiles, and it wouldn't be a drastic stretch for CI to sell blanks for the Grav right alongside the standard blanks.
I just got mine, and I'm super happy with it. It has a great quality feel. My only complaint is that there is no lock to keep it closed. That can be a bit of a bother if it's rattling around in your pocket and it drops open on its own.
Im on the fence still. Innovation is always appreciated, but limited to one pick is a bummer. Now if that pick is one of the tickler profiles where you can rake and single pin pick, then that would push me over the edge. Especially since the turning tool is gonna eat up the bottom of the keyway.
I agree, it strikes me as some mall ninja garbage that I will show friends to be cool, but it'll sit in the drawer when I need to get an actual job done.
@@DustyGibson-o6v It's really a fidget toy first, and a lockpick second. Mine rarely spends any time in my drawer just because I spend so darn much time playing with the mechanism LOL
No doubt this will not enhance or help your lock picking career in any way even the makers stress that this is a fidget toy first lock picking tool second, it's just simply a super fantasy handle for the Genesis set.. to my knowledge you can't put any of the other SSF inserts so.. yeah.. Still really cool if you got the money
I think an important consideration when evaluating this tool is: On Picking Time with Lady Locks and LockHeat, LPL actually said himself that while being a functional lockpick was obviously important, this and the other Fidget Picks are actually meant to be fidget toys first, and lockpicks second! So that's why the process of swapping profiles is a little tedious--it's a sacrifice because you're expected to spend more time playing with the mechanism! And for what it's worth, it does a VERY good job at that. I've lost sleep due to wanting to keep playing with mine LOL
Between the comb pick, this and the jigglers i have been keeping my eye out for a little bit lol. Just waiting for the right time, great review/video 💙💙😊
I also collect the handy picks. I had the same opinion. Perfect on body pick to rake simple locks before digging for something else. Most locks will be fine, and you can address higher security locks accordingly.
Totally agree! A 0.020” mctickler would push me over the edge to buy this. Until then, I love the innovation and I’m glad others are buying and supporting it.
Maybe this will be controversial, but I actually like the escort folder. It needs more pick profiles and tensioners, but from what I hear that's coming. The "Grav Pick" would be a cool prop if I was playing a locksmith in a movie and it didn't need any practical application beyond one cool shot of me whipping it out.
Sandman what don't you lick about the SWICK. I don't have any of these jackknife style picks, but I would like to pick one up someday for my backpack. Thanks for your videos.
I saw a preview video (that i think you commented on, you have everything lol) where lockpickin lawyer seemed to struggle closing it, it seems they've fixed some things with it so it slides perfect. Idk mine is set to come today so ill see for myself. Abracadabra?
Lol imma get a real gravity... uh, let's say can opener, and combo these 2 for my edc just cause they're cool. Hopefully i can use those extra profiles on a real multitool like in ready or not
Might end up getting one eventually, but disappointed they didn't make it hold a TOK tension bar to make it a bit more useful if not raking. I have a knife that works the same way and it is fun to fidget with.

@@UpperDarbyDetailing What do you mean there are two profiles on there? It only holds one at a time. You have to manually swap out each profile with the hex wrench.
@ no, it holds two at a time. At least that’s the way it looks to me. A short hook and a wave rake will be plenty to knock out most locks. Even if I’m wrong, it’s still plenty easy to just carry a few locks you KNOW you can pick with the applicable tool. Carry an acrylic lock as well in case someone wants a better demonstration or wants to try it.
ABRACADABRA!!!!! Love the grav pick. To me, it is just a really expensive toy. It’s an awesome toy, but it’s still an expensive toy. I have spent $800+ on covert instruments, but this is not something I think is worth the price.
McNally is to a lockpicker as the Grav pick is to a lock pick. The standard will get it done but Mcnally, he just flops it out and destroys the lock. Get the lube!
I see what they are doing but its kind of (REALLY) expensive for a single pick + handle. Bit gimmicky . If there was any way to make 2 picks at least it would be really really useful. one hook and one rake would be nice. maybe split that nub in 2 somehow. Also, best jackknife is the SWICK.
Always had a boner for grav knives. This will probably open 90% of the locks you encounter in real life it only takes that one last try after you are about to give up because the thing is super crusty and corroded.
