It's almost impossible to find games that good nowadays. Sure, todays games are fun, but they don't feel either realistic or have the proper elements to make you feel attached. For example, the crying men when their bomber was in flames. That really gives a real life war vibe.
@@admiralprince7925 I imagine it's the shareholders screwing up what the developers are allowed to do. "Realistic wartime emotions? No way! Act like it's B-movie Hollywood or you're fired!"

For those wondering, the B17s you are flying WITH are F variants. There are several discrepancies featured in this game, that isn't necessarily a bad thing, just some inaccuracies to point out for those wondering how accurate this game is. This mission's date is 1941, but B-17Fs (came in late 1942) are the planes seen in this mission but the interior that you play this mission in is actually a B-17G. My guess is, the devs researched an actual B-17 at some air museum and since most surviving B-17s today are G variants, they simply recreated the interiors they saw. As for the exterior, I would imagine they probably looked up some images on Google or something and built the outside model based off the first or best looking picture they saw. As mentioned earlier, the interior is actually modeled after a G variant. You can tell this by observing the following: - Staggered waist gunners (Featured in G variant). *The F model had waist gunners lined up which was a constant problem for the gunners who kept bumping into one another. - Increased visibility for tail gunner (Featured in G variant) Since game designers often do just that, design games, getting the details right isn't exactly their specialty or priority which is where a historical adviser comes in but even he would not know every tiny detail. Still, this overlooked detail is a bit on the "really?" side. It seems that years later with COD WWII, attention to detail still isn't something they truly care about.
I think that back then the software didn't alow them to focus on tiny details while these days they have the software but they lack the care to do that since people would buy it anyway and also those details would go unoticed anyway.
I didn't speak English back then, and didn't know what his mission was about until I mounted the dorsal turret and realized I was on a plane. My 10 years old self was like "Wow so cool"
My favourite UO level! I really like that you have to walk around the plane to get into other positions, not by just pressing 1234, not to mention the parts where you have to turn the valves and cut the fuel line! These little details make this game amazing! And the end where you literally get sucked out of the plane is fucking cool

@@PointReflex Yeah, especially with the system they had in place in COD 2 where soldiers called out positions and each others names regardless of if they were important characters or not. Just the little things that make it that much more immersive.
British pilots testing a B-17 during daylight raids? I don't think so. Considering the first B-17 flew in 1935 and was put into production as the B-17A almost immediately, by 1942 the B-17D was already in service in the United States Army Air Corps. If there is a tail gunner's position then this has to be at least a B-17E -- the first version which had that and which obviously was built after 1942, by which time the USAAC was already heavily involved in the war. Enjoyable mission regardless. Call of Duty is great. (I'm sorry I know this.)
I think that is the only problem of the mission but anyways it is a minor inaccuracie (the plane not being a exact fortress I). But Americans have B-17 to the RAF in 1941.
wait, they mentioned there flying a new american aircraft, and if by new they mean the A model b-17, then this is all wrong, since the tail gunner position wasn't added to the plane until the E model
Joshua Bayer And? The British hold their sten's SMGs by the magazine. The russians did not kill each other to the extent shown in the game, some of the other B-17s were shot down to easily, one man in the first game is able to take on a dam full of Germans ON HIS OWN.. Pavlov's house, which lasted a few months, lasted a few minutes in game...
I loved that mission. The sounds of the engines are pretty realistic. Really cool. Would like to have a whole mission, from the beginning untill the end. Start, bombing and landing back in england. I would like to have missions with a B-17. One for Vienna, one for Frankfurt am Main and one for Berlin. And everytime should be 2 options, making it home or bail out and find your way through germany into siwtzerland. Oh and one mission with a B-24 for Ploeisti raid in Romania. Maybe replay the movie Memphis Belle. 2 missions with an british Avro Lancaster. One for Duisburg and one for Koblenz. And Replay the mission Damn Busters.
