There's a reason Call of Duty classic is my favourite and this is one of them. Every gun in this game has a personality, has grit, has impact. Sure, all these sounds might be electronically produced, but the way they were designed was to give personality. My best description for the gun sounds, and more so the overall sounds of this entire game, is "thunderous". Every weapon is loud, impactful but unique. Every gun has a personality. The M1 Garand sounds noble and grand. The M1A1 Carbine is simple and satisfying. The BAR sounds like a goddamn bison coming to stomp you to shreds. Meanwhile the Mp40 sounds greasy and snub. The Lee sounds ancient and wise. The PPSH sounds like a rabid dog capable of tearing through everything. And of course, the best to rule them all; the MG42 turret, sounding like Hitler's fuckin buzzsaw. Fuckin glorious.
I love this game but the mp40 sound sucks, and the colt 1911 also sounds kinda crappy, not the worst I've seen but it comes off sounding like a very lightweight small gun like a .38
Let's pay attention to the fact that this is one of the first games EVER that represented different animations for tactical and full reload, which also created a new gameplay mechanic because tactical reload was faster.

Cal, MG34 and DP-28 General-purpose Machine Gun without deploying Bipod and shooting while on the hip and on the shoulder and Iron Sight, since deploying bipod is slowing down my fighting capabilities, Hectorlo.
