Hi I am working on a Dual 1019. Where are the adjustments for adjusting the tone arm so it lands on the record correctly.

I don't recall on this one. I think I adjust it in another one of my videos. I've sworn off working on Dual turntables (I won't service them).

I wish Dual turntables were as common here in the UK as they are where you are. And of course, with rarity comes silly prices...

It seems 1 out of every 4 or 5 I see is a Dual. I'm unfairly critical, but they just aren't my favorite to service.

@@millervintagehifi3034 Yes, I think they're more awkward than some but they're awesome when they're on form! Never had to touch my 1225 in 12 years of use except for stylus replacement. They're beautifully put together but I don't think you're being unfairly critical. I'm more used to working on Garrards and BSRs (which I know aren't the greatest except for a couple of notable exceptions) so I imagine working on an automatic Dual deck would come as something of a culture shock to me!

I love the old idler drive Duals and have picked up several that are in need of servicing and or repair. They are really the only ones I've ever tried to work on so I have nothing to compare it to, but have found repairs to be fairly straightforward. No I have a 1229 that had the right channel suddenly make a loud squaking noise and the go out on me. Any idea what that might be? It doesn't seem like it would be a simple poor connection issue that I've dealt with before.

IIRC, the 1229 has a muting circuit...sometimes the contacts will tarnish. I may be confusing models though...

@@millervintagehifi3034 maybe that is it, I've had a channel go out before but not with the added high pitch sound before going out. I'll start with cleaning the contacts, it would be great if it's that simple! Thanks.

you got to move tonearm over to start of record when turning on to the manual mode while holding the manual button I have the 1009 same as this one but no pitch control
