  • We continue trying to get ready for our new pigs, but it hasn’t stopped raining for a week and it’s making it hard to get ready in time!

Rebuilding the transmission would be a great learning project for the boys!

Your boys have become quite the farm hands. And that little bug is an absolute doll baby. Looking good guys. God's blessing to all.

When I was a young chick, I changed out an automatic transmission. The hardest thing was to get it the right place so when it was in, say, park the the gear shift said park as well :) Pig area looking good. Love to see the children working with you. I get t do it with my grandchildren.

Loving a glimpse of the bugginator💖. Good to see all of ya all. Transmission homeschooling curriculum sounds interesting. So the homestead is now a dig site. You guys are an amazing channel! Never a dull moment. Stay safe, healthy and warm. Blessings.

We had an ole Blue and it was a great truck. About 8 years ago it blew a head gasket, my husband bought another pick up and had ole Blue repaired. He sold it for $1500 to his cousin and that truck is still going! Gosh, seeing yours brought back a bunch of memories..My husband still misses that truck!..LOL

Be happy for the rain, most other places in the US including Texas have had snow instead.

We are on the outskirts of Austin, Texas, and had a strange weather week. Low of 6 and high of 19 - los 20s on a few days. Lost power for three days and water for two. House average temperature was 50 in day and 46-48 at night. Thank goodness we didn't lose gas service. We did well as we had food enough for us and a few who were a bit underprepared for icy roads which kept all homebound. We have a small Die Hard power pack and a Gold Zero power pack that was not good for coffee pots etc. But there is always a pour over coffee. We melted snow to flush toilets, and got gas logs up and running after being out of use for ten or so. We entertained ourselves with NPR on a transistor radio from who know when and got back into Scrabble and Yahtzee. The down side is that we lost all of our garden. I had a lettuce bed that i had successively planted and would have lasted a month or more depending if I continued to plant, but alas it is gone. Oh well, time to start some more in the house. One lesson is that we will soon purchase a much larger solar generator that will keep the household a bit more up and running. And so it goes. Joy Giles

You have some good helpers. That's a tough job slogging around in the mud. It's looking good.
