If anyone has many of the issues discussed in this video, finalmouse has said on Twitter they’ll take care of the RMAs for you if you are not happy. Apparently the side flex was bad on roughly 5,000 of the 20,000 units.
Hey man happy thanks giving! Not surprising about QC issues. I’ll check it out when the 5-6 iteration of this mouse comes out. I took the first dip with finalmouse when they released tenz edition for example.

@@richboii6597 agree. Even tenz had issues. That's why i searched for second hand copy with a good shell/no pretravel or warp on main buttons and modded the hell out of it - huano black pink dot (though i think gm8 is still better for this exact mouse), alps encoder, zippy + mods under the side buttons. I would advice against buying SL12/and prob ulx (didn't own it yet, waiting for a good batch), until you want this exact shape, this exact shell material, and ready to spend some money on expensive mouse + mods to make it perfect. After all my modded SL12 sits on the shelf while i am using zaopin z1 pro.

2:07 yea I'm in the performance camp, where mouse exterior quality issues I can overlook if it has good performance (i.e. lightness, click latency, sensor latency)
oh right, one con with this mouse is that the holes on the sides of the mouse can be an issue if you want to use grip tape
I don't know if you have a finalmouse starlight on hand but its 1 to 1 in shell design. I think they are using the same exact mold but slight different aesthetic differences

Went from starlight 12 medium to BeastX mouse. Best decision ever made, no more problems with PCB, lighter than starlight 12 and feels much more better quality than finalmeme

I tend to grip the mouse with my thumb exactly where the flex issues are. I was waiting for the Cheetah (S) to drop but that will for sure be a deal breaker for me personally. Should never have sold my Tenz 👹 Wishing everyone a happy thanksgiving!

For what it's worth my copy has no flexing or creaking issues but my copy is a late one where most of the issues were fixed so my copy was flawless. But yea give it a few months, see if their new "fixes" actually unfuck the shell or not.
Or just get a different mouse lol.

I cant wait for mine to come, bring on the flex haha. The way I grip the mouse wont be an issue for me at all. Ill take the click and sensor performance over the couple of minor QC issues every day of the week. It is finalmouse after all and we all acting like this is a first from them haha, Kinda sad i get it.. however the People who are mainly buying this mouse are here from one reason... and thats performance.

Ya the flex and issues you listed are quite a bit more than i expected now seeing them in a clear video.m. Im curious how many are experiencing this cause we've seen a lot of positive reports on Twitter and even Badseed and Optimum had solid QC. Hopefully this gets resolved on future batches

Every single unit is made of carbon fiber composite. It is a thin material, I don't see how some have flexing issues and some don't. My guess is they all do this

I have zero flexing issues with my ULX. Only thing I’m running into is the mouse feels like it disconnects for a second at a time every once in a great while. Will probably be fixed in a future firmware update
great review, i really really wanted this mouse in medium size as im using the Tenz small and it cramps my fingers (i have to let go of my mouse multiple times during games cause it gets uncomfortable) but this def doesnt seem like a 200dollar mouse so i think ill pass.. unless future batches fix these issues

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Fresh! Shame that the ulx has these problems, but it wouldn't be finalmouse without something happening. That being said I love their shape too much to move on. I love the large the most with me having a UL1 sunset, and have experience with their small with the Capetown. I just have problems with wired mice and I have them break on me. I really wish they made a large starlight 12 and was looking forward to the ulx. I hope it gets fixed asap.

@@FreshReviewsYT honestly I hope so too. I never got to try a medium so I have no opinion on it, or the infinity humps. The sunset was my first and it's amazing even for the weight. I want an air 58 so bad for the weight and size that'd be endgame. The Capetown I love the build quality on, and the extended side buttons felt great. I love the ability to swap all 5 switches to a microswitch of your own choosing too on those. My sunset has seen plenty use and abuse I should restore it, and the Capetown I want to do a custom paint job on
They made us wait all this time for "no qc issues" and they come and are this bad i was really wanting to get one like second batch but after the first batch there are too many issues that need fixed so ig ill have to wait even longer before i try and cop one
I also have the flexing issue. While I'm still very much enjoying the mouse, I'm very disappointed in Finalmeme. Though, I'm not really surprised either.
I´m absolutely glad FM is trying to make Mice lighter.
But I´m also very happy that I skiped this release.
For 180$+Import tax it is just not good enough compared to what is already on the market.
I’m still of the camp, that the LAMZU 4k mini, Pulsar X2v2 mini and Gwolves HTX 4k are the bests mice to date.
Even the Maya gets SUPER close in weight

I feel like a reviewer with how many mice I own 😅 I’ve been maining Lamzu for about a month now after the pulsar x2v2. I can easily say the Lamzu mini is my favorite mouse of all time this far, with the x2v2 mini coming close. Prior to those it was the GPro Superlight since its release. I have large hands and long fingers like you and I find it odd how much more I like locking in small mice.
Thanks for making my decision to not get this mouse even easier. For 200 dollars I expect perfection and I feel the chance of it not meeting that bar is just too high. Appreciate the reviews as always and happy thanksgiving!

Nice review! I was thinking about getting the ulx but now im considering about getting beast x, does it feel good for claw if you rest your palm on it or the ulx feels better?
If your hand is smaller, it could feel good. For me my hand is just too big to get palm contact in a law grip

Really nice looking pad but it seems similar to the fnatic jet or Wuxiang, with a better base
Top shell and bottom shell is not trimmed properly. That's the reason why they doesnt fit each other perfectly and having gaps between the sheels. Then all the flexs on the shells and grinding issues happens on the clicks. My Tenz and last legend copies had the same issue as you have had with yours. Unfortunately, they still haven't figured out thats the source of the most issues that exists on the mouse 😅

Side question - do you consider re-testing ULX in like half a year to see if they improved the build quality - you mentioned ordering another sample, may be too soon for them to fix all the QC issues. This mouse was really hyped for some time and I feel like it's kind of a letdown.

Have you messed around with the ULX on different mousepads? Any pad combinations that you really enjoyed?

Ive owned almost every version of the starlight's and the side flex issues were on every copy. Overtime the side flex gets worse. They really should had added some additional reinforcement between the base and side..lamzu did this by leveraging the pcb as a built in reinforcement for the sides.

I was going to try get the L size in the december drop but i just cant justify the price with these issues even if theyre likely fixed for that drop. Maxgaming have the pwnage stormbreaker going for €150 right now i think that might be a better option

Seriously though, the small FM shape is the only one that works for me right now, so I'm sorta desperate since the Starlights are so hard to keep in tune. Maybe I could wait, but I think I could also remedy this side fitting issue with tape.

Great review. Seems they have some early batch issues. Maybe they should have perfected the magnesium alloy. For 190 dollars, you have expectations.

Hello. The fm medium form is ideal for me, but I'm afraid of problems with qc and debounce doubleclick sh*t. I saw Beast x and thought about buying it. Please tell me how they are in terms of response and overall feeling of clicks/sensor? Big fm fan but want to try something new if it's worth it

I have been a huge finalmouse fan , used them a bunch. And I honestly regret it. Every Finalmouse I have ever had came with issues that I had to fix, my starlight (red one) left click broke off, not the switch but the physical top part of the button just cracked and i was able to just pull it off. And I worried with them being made of magnesium that something like this would happen also the scroll wheel was crooked, and my starlight tenz started to smell like electrical fire randomly. I didn't even bother with this drop because its just a money grab on a crap over hyped mouse. I put in a order for a lamzu yesterday on sale for less than 100 bucks and hopefully that will be better.

How's the battery life for you? I 25mins of gameplay at 1000hz and motion sync on at 1600dpi, and maybe like 5-6 hours of web browsing/idle time my finalmouse has dropped 10%. The battery drainage is so fast for very little use.

Would like to add a correction. The mouse is carbon fiber composite not carbon fiber. If it was straight carbon fiber we probably wouldn’t have these issues.

Does it creak and flex while playing games for a light fingertip gripper? I'm not the type to squeeze it hard, in a way that will never happen in normal use, and then complain when it creaks lol.

I think that at this price tag we hit the wall of diminishing returns pretty badly. Not only the first batch has the questionable qc, there's also not much advantage by buying this over other top performing mice that usually come much cheaper. You'd have to be an absolute god of aiming to spot the difference in performance between them AND consider it substantial. Let's not fool ourselves - the majority of us (including me😂) wouldn't find that worth paing almost 2x times more.
Nonetheless, I'm still impressed by weight reduction AND most importantly software - I really wish big brands adopted Wooting's take on it.

i dont understand reviews like this, ive used this mouse for a week and its great. Ive owned about 17 deferent mice over the last 7 years and its my first time owning a final mouse but its a great mouse, maybe my favorite. Divots on the shell? who cares. they are so small you have to squint to see them. the structural problems people are saying? i dont know if you guys are smashing your mouse or what, im squezing it right now and i dont feel any give in my hands. this is just cherry picking. great clicks, great feel in the hands, light great scroll wheel. this is a good mouse.

That was me trying to demonstrate it with different levels of force. I started hard and then went more gentle. It happens with the level of force I use when spraying nonetheless. I wasn’t trying to force anything lol 😂
@@FreshReviewsYT look up the definition of "force". the amount of "force" you used when you were pressing "hard" is beyond unreasonable. if you're pressing that hard, that's a personal problem with how you handle the tool. you can obviously use a torque wrench hard, gentle, or properly. if you're too gentle with it, obviously it won't click to show you're at the right torque spec. if you're too hard, you over torque the lug nut. causing it to strip, or snap the bolt, or break the torque wrench (over time).
don't give me that BS about "it happens with the level of force I use". either use tools properly or don't. but don't try to BS ppl as if you're using it correctly.
PS: don't give me some dumb response about "well that's a torque wrench, this is a mouse." no fucking shit its a mouse. the point is the manner in which you use a tool, and not what the fucking tool is or is not.
