@@happycamperds9917 I haven't tried Gief yet, but from the comments on this video, it seems like the Modern controls SPD is heavy only. Its the light SPD that has the meme-worthy range, so not having access to it on Modern controls isn't very good, IMO.

Dude, Gief in this game is fair. I was watching Marisa and Manon and both are way more disgusting than Gief. I thought it would be free SPD’s all day. Nope. Jumping straight up still works against him. Snake Eyes was catching his ass against Chris Tartarian with Manon.
The difference between classic and modern would be: -everything you do deals 80% damage -you only have one version of your special moves ( between L, M and H), you can still EX them - you do your specials by pressing 1 button, triangle in playstation for example, on ryu it gives you hadouken then you do a direction then triangle for the other moves -and you lose some of your normals, for example guile loses his upside down kick and his overhead.

You still have access to traditional motions for special moves. They don't incur the damage penalty
