- Hey Friends. In today's video we are back in suburbia building a door frame for an exterior door we found on a job site. It was just a door so we decided to go ahead and build a frame with some simple tools most DIY homeowners would have. We hope you enjoy our step-by-step walk through and have a blessed year. on an exterior door casing using treated lumber helps it last past a few years & i've found cutting your casing from a 2x6 and notching a stop for the door plus a groove for your weather stripping. But in the end it's a positive adventure just doing it.
