Man I really hope I'll never need legal help in Thailand, but I'd call you.
Thank you for constantly providing free updates to the community that is based on realism, facts and logic
If an herb can be classified as a narcotic, then can a pocketknife be classified as a handgun? Must we ignore facts and science and allow governments to interject their own classification(s) as a vehicle for outlawing anything that creates no imposition to society, merely because any body of government says it does? If the law is supposed to be equitable, then how is there any semblance of equity if one violates a law that has no basis in fact or science?
My glock 19s are handguns and not knives
Keep it legal and fine people who smoke it in public.
Thailand has it right now, they should just leave it alone…
Another great job Ben!, I am not a user of broccoli and I have no investments in broccoli. But, I do believe that the people spoke loud and clear when they voted for Kuhn Peter who initially supported the legalization. Democracy should rule. The business of broccoli will help the Thai economy and the government can collect tax to fix sidewalks, make tap water drinkable, fix the schools. Why stop a 2- billion dollar business that does not cause the same health problems as alcohol and tobacco ie. cancer of the liver and lungs, mouth ect. The whole thing smells of dirty money coming into Thai politics from big tobacco and big alcohol. Anyway keep’ ‘‘em on their toes by telling “ truth to power”. Good Luck 👍
Your comments are being ignored because of the ridiculous use of the word "Broccoli" in place of Cannabis! You & Tim Newton need to get a ST room together on Soi Buakhao!
Big Pharma feels the pinch too.
No ones buying anti depressants, pain relief or sleeping tablets,
Thx Ben, you have a great mind for the law. That initial Thailand give away of 1(?) million plants, my Thai-Wife received her plants from that Thai-Gov giveaway after she officially registered. I often wondered how all these media "proclamations"(?) have effected "that initial gov issued permit".
Thx for all you do!
The Prime Minister is about to be removed.
I
I keep hearing this too.
Dumb comment. It’s good they rolled back. Look how America is. Thai people have more concerns with weed. Take a slow approach and make sure the money is for Thai people only. No corporate. Canadians and Americans takes advantage of countries cannabis laws.
@@av1767 It probably does come down to money, the government hasn't found a way with this weed market to get a cut. They are rolling back under the auspices of "health and safety" for children, but we know damn well that isn't the case, if they truly cared about that, they would go after alcohol, tobacco, and road safety as well. They will change the laws so that those at the top get a cut, thats all that matters in Thailand, is money money money.
@@av1767 theyre not americans or canadians theyre joowz
A lot of Thai businesses were destroyed by recent events, cannabis has given a chance for some people to start again. Now the government wants to snatch that hope away yet again, just because it's not the done thing amongst some sections of Thai society, who by the way, are happy to flout the law regarding narcotics when it suits them. Leave things as they are for a few years and then act if needed. In the meantime, try and sort out the meth problem maybe, perhaps, possibly, never. . .
Excellent commentary!! 🎉
We might have been wrong in our math, but when I was working for a dispensary in Colorado, we took the lethal dose 50% figure for cannabis, and calculated that, given a 25% THC potency (which is pretty usual in Colorado buds), it would take a person smoking roughly 2,500lbs of cannabis in 60 minutes to reach that level. Someone correct me if I am wrong, this is what I remember from about a decade ago. But, yeah, point being, I have been trying for years and am a total failure 🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
I think one of the reasons the Thai government is focused on the "recreational" use of cannabis is because they see it as a challenge to alcohol consumption. In Canada, where cannabis has been legal for 6 years, there has been a growing concern that THC infused beverages are competing against alcohol sales. Given that alcohol consumption incurred a total estimated economic cost of 165,450.5 million baht, equivalent to 1.02% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 2500 baht per capita in Thailand, I think there are some "deep pockets" concerned over its competing "recreational" use.
Over toursim.. and not taxing cannabis.. these ideas affect sustainable tax bases that benefits the citizens of Thailand.
Always on point!
you ' re awesome, love your insights and video's
This is the same problem in the states. What I liked about Thailand is that they do as you do. In conservative villages they did not have a lot of shops but still sold at night markets. Up to you to partake or not.
Thank you,
**Great video Ben!** We need to vote for you as "Special Farang Mayor" of Pattaya!
Funny title, reminds me of Goldie Wilson in Back to the Future.

This tourist was banned for life in 2018, had his friend "joint" had it in his cigarette pack - picked up his cig pack when he dropped his pack at the Songkran Phuket Festival.... stopped to pay a cop 100,000 baht bribe .... have to pay a Thai lawyer a US$ 10,000 to get back into Thailand ... He was innocent and no urine test...Alcohol is more dangerous than Weed....
Why if he paid a huge bribe did it go to being banned ?
@@Wilko11 had to continue legal standards...have to be honest and not join illegal standards
Thanks Ben, good to hear you say, can we be treated like adults here. It’s getting insufferable in the U.S. I’ll be sure to call you, for legal advice. & how do you guys always know when I’m in Thailand😊
The point is no weed at 0.2% is sold.. 10%-20% is normal.
it is not the flower that should be 0.2 it is what is made from the flower
@@johndawes9337 I don't understand, the flowers are what people smoke..
@@user-zj7hf5se4u there is also cookies , brownies, gummies which people consume.which i have consumed this evening::HAPPY DAYS. 555
@@user-zj7hf5se4u you can make hash or oil from the flower that can also be smoked and that is what should be 0.2.
@@user-zj7hf5se4u If you process flower say into rosin, you can make many forms of THC products.
All this legalize! For a natural plant that has existed for centuries!
PM maybe shouldn't have changed tax interpretation and the cannabis laws. Gotta give the people what they want
People who've made fortunes in the cannabis industry will NOT go gentle in that good night! They will use that fortune to remove the thorns from their paws.
great analysis. one point of clarification though about cannabis and death, THC related ED rates are skyrocketing. it is a CNS stimulant and can cause heart attacks and strokes esp for those with preexisting CVD conditions. not an overdose like you mentioned but its not by any means without dangers. just a small point, appreciate your video. thanks
Opium is also from a plant so it make no sense what you say about canabis as a plant.
Whatever is put into law nothing will be enforced
Watch and see
Medical certificate ect
A joke
Do you have a financial stake in the cannabis industry?
Great video.
I think the government is trying to calm down the public opinion using the media but as you metion and I agree with you nothing to be alarmed of. It’s just that the public opinion it’s still shocked by the barely unregulated legalization rushed by former politicians who had big business going on at the time(big plantations who needed to sell quick their flowers)
Considering the cat's out of the bag, would like to be clear on the reasons why/what specifically is behind flipping back to "narcotic status" and or banning all the profits and business investments with recreational cannabis now flourishing in Thailand? Guess I'm lucky to be in California with legal cannabis. Will be interested to see what happens legislatively. Thanks ILT/Ben for keeping on the updates/opinions on this.
Bro has a lot of opinions....
Not a bad thing❤
I know it's cliche , but i'm not sure how much logical thinking is gonna help....
🇹🇭
Got Broccoli 🥦🥦
Let’s see if I can sell it all…
I approve this message! 🤣👍🏼
All flowers have higher levels than 0.2% when grown properly. So not sure what cannabis products the shops are allowed to sell in Thailand🤔
Great video yet again,I personally don’t have a massive issue with the legality of cannabis out here,I will just say that some people being inconsiderate to others regarding its use in public has led to this,if I don’t smell it etc,why would I care? If this does go back to the way it was then those people can only blame themselves 👍👍👍
I understand Marijuana edibles will be 0.2% does that go for Flowers as well ??
I don't touch the stuff. Too much money involved. All talk ; No action
Thanks for the report
That money 💰 coming in. They don't want that to stop.
What is the amount of Thais who use cannabis as oppose to Foreign users? I think there be less conterversy to legalize prostitution?
God !! Make Thailand stay as the perfect country to visit, I can’t have weed be banned in Thailand before I turn 21, it will be so close , it looks so much fun. All that food, the country , the city, the history, the animals, all enhanced by, Cannabis
I'm just here for the common sense. It's refreshing these days! 👍
"Reasonably foreseeable to presume" ...only a lawyer can understand.
with the greatest respect for you and your content, etc.. you look like you could use a J after making this .... Cheers!
He prb does so regularly since he's so obsessed with it.
I think rather that he is obsessed with logic.
@@JohnArmstrong_ He sure loves talking about this particular topic, dude. Ain't gonna fool no one why.
@@saddq1 My contention is that talks about it so much because the bad logic bell in his head keeps ringing. I think if he used, he would say so rather that "try to fool you" with logical arguments. You may disagree.
Doing that job would be impossible if regularly partaking in it. Think it's more about the logic of the decisions, and benefits for the country. It's possible to see the current situation as good for the country without using it.
The wheels of justice turn slow
Have you seen the Strain Hunters recent 3 part series in Thailand?
It shows a government supported cannabis facility and ends with an interview with the prime minister 😂
@@bozbozman1575It's not the Prime Minister.
That's the former health minister who legalize it @@bozbozman1575
is ist safe no or or not. want to come to thailand end of year for smoke weed
is srettha connected with the idiot thaskin?
No possible way to make it a narcotic again because patients will simply show our patient cards 🙂 Instead, Thailand could make BIG MONEY by issuing INTERNATIONAL CANNABIS PATIENT cards for travel in many countries like an international driver's license & make BIG MONEY selling Thai-made convection vaporizers so there isn't any smell 🙂
Oh sure, let's have a ZILLION bars that will serve you until you black out but soon as some pot gets involved, OH GODD HE MAY EAT SOMETHING
You let the cats out of the bag and you cannot get them back into the bag........ Make the vote up or down...... then let them sell till the licenses expire....... When they do then just don't renew....... easy fix.......
Alcohol is far more destructive but yet there's no rules on how much it often you can drink. Shame when logic isn't employed
Keep weed legal!
I smoked all day every day for 20 years. I am 12 days clean. Living in Thailand my usage went through the roof. the long term impacts of weed are terrible. I will probabaly get attacked by a bunch of people who havent smoked as much I have for this comment but I dont care. I have closed down my weed shop here in Isan. Its not fair to damage the wonderful Thai people.
I live in Canada. And there are millions of people using with zero negative side effects. So who is wrong? You or all of us
@@bozbozman1575💯 agree with this. Anyone can abuse anything just look at obesity, kids are being diagnosed with fatty liver from eating too much ultra processed food but that’s okay.
Celebrating alcoholism and marketing to young people for a substance that is the leading cause of premature and preventable deaths.
A thriving s3x tourism industry that involves human trafficking…. but the top priority right now is criminalizing a plant. 🙄
😂
Weed was legal for 1000 years in Thailand and it was only 60 years ago Thailand send all kinds of weed to the U S. Until U S Government told them to make it a crime to smoke 😊 get real - are you a Drinker ?
Everything in moderation. Smoking that much is bound to cause problems
I’m an American living in BKK and weed has made the entire city smell like shit. Would love laws of 50 years ago.
😂
You must be a Drunk?😂
I don't smoke but it smells much better than tobacco and shit.
100 years back even better mate
Make Thailand Great Again 😂😂
